Hiya Freakymum, just a suggestion, you may find it safer and easier to carve that below your waist level. Preferably with some chainsaw safety pants on. Watching how close that saw is to your chest area gives me the shivers. There is kickback and also follow through. Both can be deadly. I know they do chainsaw safety jackets as well as pants..... Just saying ❤
@Cindy-o2h that is a really good idea, you never know when you’re gonna hit a nail or something. I will try to follow your advice as well as I can. Thank you so very much for your advice!
I can see where you're going with this Mama. Bags of talent. I don't know why you call your self an amateur. You are an artist, it shows with every new touch of your object.
@ the cracking is caused by the wood losing moisture No much you can do about it when carving wet wood slowing down the loss will help you out I think like with clay you put a plastic bag or damn towel over it just throwing some ideas at you lol
@@Freakymum1645 don’t get me wrong I love the artistic part the most but I feel like my videos builds with functional has more interest. My DIY repair and product reviews are without a doubt my top performers. I just don’t wanna do many of them. Sprinkle those in here and there
Those look like those wooden bowls you see that people have flowers in sometimes… Like cascading flowers like nasturtium‘s. I think they usually put a plastic pot inside of it or something? And the wood is just decorative? It’s beautiful nonetheless :-) I wonder if you will do any detailed carving on it For decoration :-)🌸🌺🌷🌼
@@creativesolutionsart-h3o Hey, thanks, yeah I thought about it but I don’t think I will add any detail to carving. Sometimes minimalism is just the right thing to do. Besides, I really want to get back to sculpting Something else I need to finish.
@@creativesolutionsart-h3o To you and me I’m getting good, but to the practiced professionals I’ve met on here I look very green! Thanks though, you are very kind to me.💚

@@justcarverob9389 hey Rob, thanks, if only I could find a way to stop it from cracking while i’m carving it. Maybe throw some linseed oil on it?
