my best experience in dayz vanilla, was when i got on foot to the prison island (in vanillla, is not that easy to live there solo), trying to live off the grid, burrying wooden stashes, hidden on the island and then one day, finding proof that another player was already living there....
We chased each other for a whole week, between logins/logouts and putting traps by observing each other from a distance and trying to finally get a proper ambush.
It was growing on my nerves, that he was already hiding there.
Then one day... by mistake... we ran into each other's face, point blank in the backyard. I recognised his clothing, it was him..... as usual in dayz, nothing is ever according to the plan, so when we faced each other both our hands were busy carrying stuff so we couldnt shoot... in traditional dayz style, we started both running and screaming :
Noooo, dont shoot me, please, friendly friendly :)
Then we became friends and we owned that Island for a looong time :)
Hunting, barbeques, drinking, healing and killing together :)
Dayz is so hardcore to the bone, that when things like those happen, its memorable.
It was a luxury finding a friend there, fighting teams and not letting anyone get near us.
My advice for Dayz players ? No one is your friend and no one is your enemy, its just survival.
Make sure you make some memories along the road of your survival story, you will remember it with a smile forever :)
My tip is if you have a chance just rush people, charge into the building they're in or their position. I've found that a lot of players really don't expect someone to play that aggressively in DayZ
I support this tip, though I play on console and it's usually really a 50/50 when you're dealing with a hard-core camper.
I expect it, because I'm thoroughly paranoid. I just can't consistently react fast enough. (I run simulations by trying to react to my friends rushing into rooms I'm in)
Luckily nobody's been crazy enough to try it on me either way.

Top tip: Check your guns frequently to ensure they're on full auto. It's relatively harder to switch from single to full given the types of situations that require you to spray bullets.
Just lost a fight because of this. I peeked perfectly and got the first shot in rlly fast but i was holding shoot and didnt realise before he mag dumped me with his pistol :(

One tip is to never run directly on the roads, running just in the ditches or 30 meters away greatly reduces how visible you are as well as people eyes are naturally drawn to the road rather than the sides. This also applies to hills, never run on top unless you must, run a little down the side so you're not silhouetted, and a clear shot for miles.
A demonstration is actually at 15:50 in the video, that guy is on top a small hill which makes it so he had no background to help mask his shape, making him super visible

My tip as a 3000+ hour player with a very very good pvp record is positioning, having a better position than your enemy will nearly always guarantee a win, get concealment and cover, high ground when possible, and have a position with several different peeks/ routes to the enemy, so they can't guess where you'll shoot from next. If following all these principles, you should be able to get the element of surprise on any players you see. When you have this, patiently await a perfect opportunity when they are in the open and/ or vulnerable, and make sure you ensure they aren't alone. I once waited a minute to shoot a guy and 3 of his buddies ran up and joined him, I waited until they lowered their guard and began a fire in a building with many windows. Went down, shot the guy watching the door, saw the others running to the side door through the window, got a peek on it behind solid cover, killed another, the other 2 panicked and pushed, moved to a new unexpected angle and when they got to the very centre of the open road I opened fire and put 2 shots in each, precise shots are better than lots of shots.

Top tip is to watch your enemy before you fire and you might find out their friends, skill level, and/or gear giving you the upper hand on choosing the ambush point
Watching and ambush is definitely the way to go. Range is your friend therefore rangefinder is your best friend. I was never great at PVP until I got a range finder and a pioneer with a acog and I’m now on a 6 kill streak and have taken someone’s base. It pays to pay attention

A tip I received a long time ago. If you move your equipped weapon from your hands to the ground and a shouldered weapon to the ground then move it to your hands then you can weapon swap silently.
My tip is movement, keeping tab of the enemy and your allies and then cycling around and flanking. A small group or duo can take on even vet players with good shoot and move technique

Protip: you pull out guns faster if they're in your bag than on your back. I try to hide my guns in my backpack for as long as possible. Your less likely to be KOS'd if you don't have a gun on your back or in your hands.
Bonus tip: you're more likely to get a positive response from another player if you speak before they see you. There's a psychological phenomenon where we tend to feel more powerful when we see somebody before they talk to us, in these situations. In these tense player moments, we tend to acquiesce to those we feel have more power. We can sort of manipulate our leftover monkey instincts in the brief moments of player contact. If you speak and then reveal yourself, it basically sends the message that you have chosen to speak rather than KOS because you are skilled enough to make that choice. You come across as a skilled and confident player and it almost always makes the other player more hesitant to try and fight you. This person could have killed you but instead they introduce themselves and walk into the light of your fire. That's enough to give most of us pause.

When I play DayZ I never seek to get kills. I put a lot of effort into DayZ nonverbal communication, trying to figure out how to look like somebody you don't wanna KOS but still being able to carry armor and guns. Somebody could write a fascinating thesis on how we interpret other people thru their DayZ characters. DayZ is a special game, the more thought you put into it and the more you believe in it, the more fun you have
Good tip about talking but as far as looking like someone not to screw with only work on cowards. We don't care how you look we'll try you. It all depends on how game the enemy is. I don't kos all the time but most. I only talk to people in special circumstances.
Not true , look at Wobos video, guns pull out faster on your left shoulder while melee’s pull out faster on your right. The difference from gun shoulder pull out (left vs right) is 3 bullets on an M16

Top tip is that you don’t need a campfire to keep warm. Just run with a torch or drop the torch ( rag and short stick ) and it gives you a bit of a heat boost

Tip: *ONLY WHEN YOU HAVE THE CHOICE... Lean from a doorway on your right side. This holds true IRL room clearing/CQB. You silhouette less of your body and it's a smaller target for another person to hit. If I'm correct, we are always right-handed in the game (until there's an update) which makes leaning to your right important for everyone. IRL, most people don't see someone "pie-ing" a room until there looking at a barrel. DayZ is a little different, and you will show more of your body before someone see's the barrel (just game mechanics I guess), but it is still A LOT less of your body exposed in the game.
Your can change what shoulder your gun aims from left or right so you could also maybe enter from the left
@@davidvargas1070 if you're right handed and u lean right, while aiming, your right elbow drops down at like 45° to your left elbow. only your right arm shoulder head and gun will mostly peak through. Otherwise right handed and leaning left you give yourself away by having your torso visible to clear your gun through the door
Thing that devs should add is toggle lean. Sometimes it's really hard to move while leaning. Just you can't press all needed keys that way 😂

my pvp tip is to bang a claymore onto a wall until it's damaged then give your opponent the slimiest left hook ever seen, and blow him to smithereens... and pray the blast also didn't kill you. It's honestly amazing how effective it is. People get too scared to aim right when you start to charge them with an explosive arm.

Tip: drop your fire place inside a bush where you barely get the ignite action and when the fire is lit, the smoke acts as if it's in a building.
My top tip in DayZ PvP is don’t loot bodies right away !!! Always take your time and check for more players ! So many times when i first started playing this game I would kill a stacked guy and be too urgent to grab his gear! Give it time and wait

Always make sure you keep you eyes peeled and have lots of patients. Scouting out a town or mili and waiting a few to see what happens never hurts even if you don't have a mid to long range weapon to fight where you are. You can come up with a plan and get closer after you've spotted them. Also.. always leave your weapons in full-auto when you're on the move xD you can always switch to semi if you need more accuracy and since you'll be at a distance it's safer to do so

My top pvp tip is to stash loot when ever you are going in a town and swap bags that way you won't lose what you had on you, bring in only one or 2 guns instead of a fully geared keep and don't lose, and kill don't be kill mind set even the :act to be friendly: screw it just kill them no one in this game is friendly unless there your friends huge tip thank me later :)
Best tip for longer range engagements is to wait until the opponent shoots their shot. then instantly attempt to trade your shot before they can chamber the next bullet. Unless of course it's a blaze or SVD.
My tip is laying down in any area with grass when either being shot at or in between your shots to stay hidden (it is harder to see through grass than a lot of people think)

Unless the opponent is playing on a 200£ computer with the lowest graphics possible on, they will not even have grass on the game and will just see some guy randomly laying on the floor 📞👻

This is classic fresh spawns. I laughed out loud at least 4 times
I do find the smart approach works well everytime. Whether it be acase of lying in a stack of bodies with the lure of loot or at the end of a town where someone hasgot complacent and comfortable thinking they won't be shot at after multiple house loots and then they leave them selves vulberable then you pop them. The phrase let the hare sit a little longer comes to mind. Wait for a slightly better opportunity to spring up then bang
My tip is patience. You can always stalk then after ensuring they are alone. Theres no need to take the first shot as he might have friends. I learnt this the hard way.

Serious tip. Shoot and move. Flank as many times as you need to stay alive. Make yourself not visible when you flank. You want to be unpredictable. Shoot at them from the north and make a sneaky flank and get behind them start shooting from the south. Keep doing this and they will get so confused and eventually some give up if you haven't killed them already
My tip, never underestimate feet wrappings! You're basically in stealth mode with a pair on and not being heard is half the battle.

Dayz tips, sniping= 1-2 shots move, loud always 1 unless further than 500 meters. Using mosin range further than shot for better visibility. Longer shots are best used on players stuck in actions. DONT!!! Sit on the edge of woods. Get 30 meters or farther inside them. Create a small shooting lane. Nothing more than 40 degrees horizontal and 60 vertical. Kill the guy in the back of a group on foot. If vehicles shoot first driver to stop convoy. Just a lil bit of stuff
When going for zombie stealth kills, remove your boots(alt. Use quieter shoes/foot wrappings)

My top tip, cause it effects everyone's game, is learn what the fruit trees look like. I always see people running around starving, surrounded by food. There's apple trees, pear trees, plum trees. Also around hay bails and in the woods there's mushrooms. People really should learn this =) Not a pvp tip, but very useful. Oh also, you can eat rotten fruit and mushrooms.

Whenever a person is near you drag your weapon from your hands to the floor then do the same with your other weapon and it makes no noise (easy way to swap weapons without anyone hearing you)

I always choose neutral coloured clothing to be less visible, and the smallest backpack i can get away with, or even no backpack at all to make my characters silhouette smaller, again less visible
Best tip for playing in a big group is to gear up everyone in full black track suits sets, you'll never have to double check who's who in a gun fight
Feet wraps are my tip. I barely wear shoes any longer. So quiet and sneaky I love it
Tip: if you and another player or fighting and there's an ability to get on top of a boulder or a rooftop especially a rooftop that doesn't typically have ladder access do it. For some reason the majority of DayZ players never look up.
My dayz top tip is for beginners, chickens are your best friends. Everyone worries about food and water, but chickens have your back 24/7.

My tip more or less for the survival aspect is to memorize the trails. You can literally negotiate the entire map and the trails is almost always a good fail safe when you're being hunted.

Top tip: when looting popular areas, take time to frequently stop what you are doing and listen out for important queues that somebody else is around that be terrified chickens, zombies you didnt aggro, or just somebody walking around (I got caught in pvp because I wasnt paying attention to audio and somebody walked into my building with a gun)

My tip would be that If you enter a building you should close the door behind you. That way No one can sneak up behind you and Shoot you in the back. I have seen quite a lot of people who just leave the door Wide open as they go in to loot.
Pro pvp tip, when you get shot at, do a full 360 trying to locate the source, fail to find it, panic run to the left and then click respawn when it says "you are dead"

Im a 100 hour dayz player and my best pvp encounter was when i was in a prison like building somewhere in airfield i was fighting with the guy for over i belive 40 minutes one of my craziest times on this game, and was happy that i won that fight.
My tip is when you know you’re about to enter a high tier area with a possible chance of combat, drop your bag with spare stuff, like a weapon food and water and ammo. This is what I consider a death bag. If you find a new bag pick it up and gather your new loot in that and obviously if you’re alive when finished go back and find your bag and workout what you wanna keep! Let’s say you stashed your death bag and go in a die then you know at least you have a backup plan. The extra food and water in that bag will save you when you arrive back. And you have a weapon ready for the fight incase they’re still there or you wanna make a new plan and leave but you are somewhat geared. This has and will continue to be a useful tactic I always use and it’s been beneficial a lot of times! Even going in to towns this can help.
Another tip especially if you’re solo and wanna build a base. Know where you wanna build, make a stash bag for only build items. That way if you need to venture further in the map to eventually find them damn nails or a saw then at least you know you have a safe stash of everything else in a bag or two near the location you wanna build! Just don’t forget to hide the shovel/pickaxe/ho for when you wanna use it as taking it with you could be a death sentence and you could spend more time looking for a new one if you die!
I feel like movement and strategy is key to over coming a pvp fight as well as stealth.

Always put the less necessary stuff in your backpack so if you get shot at you can drop ur backpack for more stamina.
Always be mindful of what you are wearing, i always avoid bright colored clothes, your best bet is green and brown they blend in the most
Load your ammo into mags to save space, and keep your best semi/full auto on your person and off your back, hot-keyed for instant use so you don't get shot for your gun. This video was hilarious!
Run around a corner and crouch with a shotgun ready, play the bandaging or reloading sound from your phone to your mic.
Best tip I could give is don't get ahead of yourself in sticky positions always keep calm and a lvl head another good skill to have is people skills and being able to read other people well

The Dayz Top Tip would be loot accordingly. Don't over fill your inventory with ammo your not using or items you don't necessarily need at the time. Your just slowing yourself down and making yourself an easy target.
