- Yes it's an SUV, officially at least. And, no, it does not have a manual transmission, let alone an air-cooled engine. That means, for many, this isn't even close to a real Porsche. If you are one of those people, I say-respectfully-go pound sand.
We live in a world that has fallen in love with tall station wagons and any company needs to have SUVs to survive. The good news is that Porsche builds them quite well, which allows the Macan GTS to retain healthy amounts of fun to drive character, despite being a bit higher off the ground.
My video goes through the specs, looks inside and out of the car and then heads out for a drive to see how it feels. Take a look.

We drove a 2021 GTS and 2021 turbo back to back. Wanted to love the GTS (we have a 2014 C4S cab). Found the throttle response “slow” or “soft” when compared with the turbo. Was our experience unique? Should we dive a different GTS? Could the sample we drove have some anomaly we couldn’t recognize? Help!
Interesting. I didn’t notice slow throttle response on my test car, quite the opposite. I think it is worth revisiting, yes.
Is the GTS low enough to scrape in bumps or raised driveways?
No, not at all.
And the tires and rims are very thick..this is actually a great vehicle but overpriced now that they are 85k to low 90k.
