I'm Asian and Gabriel has "crossed over". His humor is very relatable to everyone.

It's like they think they need to fill every pause with SOMEthing just because it's a podcast, and silence where you can't see body language and facial expression doesn't translate.

I really don't mind the laugh track in sitcoms like Mr. Iglesias. In fact, I actually prefer that because even if a joke may be funny by itself, I find that the presence of laughter actually makes the joke funnier and more enjoyable. Otherwise, we'd get situations like Young Sheldon, which just felt awkward to watch. 😁

Multi-cam sitcoms filmed in front of a live studio audience do use canned laughter along with live recorded laughs. You can hear it, put on headphones and watch one on Netflix. You can hear it being dialed up and then the volume lowered. You can also hear how it mostly all sounds the same, now there are reasons they have to use it. Doing multiple takes of a scene, you don't laugh as hard when you've heard the punch line a few times. Punching up a joke the audience didn't think was that funny and when you have a scene with several actors but someone flubs a line or you redo something now you're going to have the laughing start/stop/start because you used different takes to edit the scene together. It also allows them to remove coughs/sneezes and anything else you don't want heard during a take and only use laughs.

@@FOxXyYgRaMpA no, but I've been to a taping of a sitcom to know how it works and don't think the criticism of "canned laughter" is fair. If you watch an episode of Three's Company from the late 70's early 80's you can hear the audience talking. They didn't use laugh tracks and it takes you out of the illusion of watching a "show" even though the audience laughing doesn't. It's weird but I spend far too much time thinking about it... obviously. It's not the crime that people make it out to be is my fairly long point. :P

I was called a puppy kicker once, thanks to my neice.
I had broken my big toe 13 years ago as I was wearing steel toe caps, but the metal bit was loose and didn't know, I had stubbed my foot leaving a bar drunk (was a leaving do).
My 6yr old neice was asked at school what she did through the holidays and she told her class she helped me some days as I broke my foot, not my toe, my foot.
When the teacher asked how did your uncle break his foot she blurted out "by kicking puppies".
You properly could of sparked a cigarette up off my cheeks they where that red, when I picked her up one day and a teacher told me what she said in class. When I told the teacher what really happened we both burst out laughing in the entrance hall.
She is 20 now and her face goes red whenever the family brings it up lol.

They're engaging the guest while not interrupting his stories. People also engage in a conversation by nodding along with whomever they're speaking to but nods don't translate well in this highly audio driven medium. I really do not understand why people are leaving this same comment. Have you ever had a conversation, _ever?_
