  • @curtcoleman

Why do they roll up with the preconceived notion that you are the bad guy? And why are they immediately rude and do not want to state their name and badge number? What's the big deal with that?
How difficult is it to say, "Good afternoon. I'm Officer Dummy with the Rinkydink Police Department. My badge number is 69. Obviously you're not breaking any laws that I can see, but we got a call. So I am making contact with you, and now I am going to go speak with the complainant. Do you have any questions for me? Would you like the incident number? Have a nice day."....? How difficult is that?
I have seen videos of officers roll up all dramatic like they're responding to a school shooting in progress and you're the shooter. Every call isn't an active shooter. Most calls do not call for violence. And most of the calls where use-of-force is implemented it is completely unnecessary and was completely the officer's fault for escalating it to that point. This is now the norm, and we have accepted it.
Sorry for the long post.....I just do not understand why the vetting process to become police officer seems to more-often-than-not select the wrong candidate. Instead of a professional-acting non-psychopath we get a violence-instigating juvenile halfwit. I think the selection process needs to be looked at closely before the citizens have had enough and start sending these criminals home with their teeth in their hands.

Being rude isn’t a crime. I’ve found law enforcement officers to consistently be rude and they are held to a higher standard as public servants. I treat people the way they treat me, if you come up to me acting like these clowns I am going to treat you accordingly. Informing private business owners of the law is a public service and should be done more. I wonder why certain people get so hostile when they see a camera, probably because they’re doing something they shouldn’t be and don’t want people finding out. I’m perfectly happy being rude to that type of person. Trying to use rudeness to get the moral high ground is laughable.

Actually that cop not stopping at the stop sign is not an infraction for anyone. As the sign is an off public easement sign and not enforceable under the Ontario Highway Traffic Act. if they would have placed one on the public easement and on the opposite side of the road facing the cars coming out of the prison lot then it would be enforceable. It is just a prison placed stop sign for safety of people coming out it is not one of legal grounds and not enforceable. But reality is many cops will push their control and try and claim someone run through it was driven careless and not ensuring it was safe to drive out. Because the cops know the sign is not a legal one from its location so they would dummy up a careless charge just to flex their power and abuse it.
Its like most people don't realize in many instances when you park somewhere even on private property and come out and find your car has been towed. In the majority of these situations you can call the police and file a claim that the car has been stolen when you get to the yard where your car is held. The police will tell the towing company / holder to release your car and the company will insist the car owner sign a billable notice on that sign not your name but "ON condition to follow" they release the car then send you a bill. You let them take it to court and fight it as 99% of the population is not aware that Towing companies have no legal right to seize assets and the cities that issued them a license has no power to give such rights to a towing company when even the cities can't seize assets without themselves going through the provincial courts. A lot of times when towing companies receive the defense counter claim before court they just drop the case and bite the bullet on it as they know in many of the m they loose and it costs them way to much. Plus they also figure they are fighting a lawyer or law firm which play this card all the time.
