- In this video, we'll be attempting to fix the microphone on a OnePlus 5T. Unfortunately, we were unable to fix the issue, but we wanted to share our process and troubleshooting steps with you in case you're experiencing the same problem.
We first tried to troubleshoot the issue by checking the microphone settings and making sure it wasn't on mute. We also tried different apps to test the microphone and made sure the software was up to date. However, none of these steps fixed the problem.
We then attempted to open up the phone and check the microphone physically, but we were unable to fix the issue. We also tried to look for a solution online but could not find a definitive answer.
It's important to note that attempting to fix a phone yourself can be risky and may cause further damage. If you're experiencing similar issues with your OnePlus 5T, we recommend taking it to a professional for repair or replacement.

I have the same problem too.. Sad to let it go, because the rest of the phone still works fine and the battery it's still decent after 4 years of use.
my (OnePlus 5T) have similar mics problems :(:(... calling all is alright (or normal network or by internet like mesenger or whatsapp), BUT! not work if I put on loud speaker! (very hard to hear me or loosing sound)... :( ... and on back, main camera video, camera works good, with all stereo speakers, BUT! front, selfie camera video fully no sound, cant record any voice, just quiet noise and fully nothing else ... By headphones is work all, except front camera still the same ... if that helps... i still looking for solutions. thanks
I can confirm that I did not fix it... as, my issue been just not working microphone on selfie mode (tested on selfie video) (also same on video calls or with loud speaker), is still the same and fully no changes. I tried clear many times all everywhere inside, 2 mics are good, 3rd, by ear speaker fully not respond, cleaned many times properly (dont wanted damage, that been very dusty, cleaned dusts first, no change, then cleaned mic with alcohol first little, second hardly) and fully no differences and not working fully. maybe is faulty itself (mic) and would need change all motherboard, that is not worth I guess... So I can confirm that my cleaning solution not fixed the issue. thanks. If you have other ideas, happy to hear
Same problem. Tried different carriers and different custom ROMs.
I have my 5T since the day it came out and recently developed this problem. It's more than 6 years old now and it's the best phone I ever had so I have to find a solution. Did you let it go?
Unfortunately I had to replace the motherboard, I managed to buy a replacement for cheap on eBay auction.
I got the same problem on my oneplus5, i guess this is a issue with this model? Did you find the problem?

@@TechGadgetsMedia Guess its time to upgrade then, other than the mic the phone has been fantastic, my battery is starting to have some problems in the cold, What phone do you use?
@@puttepan3959 yeah its really a shame.. I would be using this one still if the problem doesn't occur .. I have upgraded to the OnePlus 9 Pro. I got a video about it if you wanna check it out.
@@TechGadgetsMedia Nice, i will do, i have looked at 9 pro, even was at the store the other day to feel it, was going to buy the 8 pro but i doesnt like when they curve the screen, notised the 9 pro was a little bit curved aswell, little to high for my price range but maby i will wait til it drops abit futher! Good videos btw keep it up! :)

@@TechGadgetsMedia Replace the battery cover, it's there, behind the tiny hole between the usb-c and the headphone jack. I haven't found the mic anywhere (ali included), but it's there in every single battery cover replacement instructionals and videos.

@@TechGadgetsMedia My friend, who's a tech guy told me to change the network IC. At this point i don't have anything left to try. So why not!
I think the problem is with the microphones.. it’s trying to use multiple microphones for noise cancelling but then the software messes them up and that’s why it is making that noise..
So what happenend this just happend to me

I have oneplus 5, and i'm currently facing this issue. might OOS related? have you tried custom ROM? I fixed mine by spraying alcohol (i sprayed the earpiece as well.)and poking the mic holes with a really small pin. but after a few months I faced the same issue. redid the same cleaning process. but now it doesn't make any difference. I hope you find a solution!

My solution was for this to swap the main board after all.
