Amen to that! In my opinion, she is one of the most tasteful, in the pocket drummers, I have ever seen for a person of her age and experience. And yet, there are so many sophisticated nuances in her playing. I'm sure Jamie has the ability to cut loose on some serious drum solos and strut her stuff, but she fittingly holds back, thus adding to the overall beauty of the music in a very important way. This young woman is a deeper talent and person than we know. Kudos to her skills and her humble personality.

I'm a semi-retired Audio Mastering Engineer. When you get guys like Brandon Rose to hang with your posse on bass, the lineup you have on brass, and Steve Johnson working keys, and basically the musical director for the group, plus your right 'in the pocket' sister laying down those percussive beats, all that's left is for you to glide down on those white clouds and show 'em how Justin-Lee gets it done!. Outstanding work across the board my young and talented friend. You've already found yourself a nice spot in the music industry in which to grow and expand, and done it apparently without a huge high end studio budget to make it happen, both on the audio & video sides of the coin. Bravo!
I'm basically a small to medium operation guy myself, although also mastering albums for international artists. I've been where you are before, starting out 40 years ago as a fairly talented keyboardist, then touring to get things off the ground across the US for three years for the debut album of the band. I envy your starting out remembering those times back then. Based on what I've heard, you have just as an exceptional lineup as I did. Best of luck to you in all your future endeavors, stay safe while on the road, and learn all you can in regards to music along the way.

What a masterfully conceived and produced recording on every possible level. A pure explosion of expertly captured joy in musical form. Every performer is on point. Even recording so many sections on the track was a genius move. Justin and Jamie's virtuoso-level performing on the track was only the cherry on top. This track is a beautiful tribute to Stevie Wonder and an incredible piece of musicianship in its own right.

Remember, his father is ludwig von steinway and his mom is freida bosendorfer. He has musical genes. His brother is bob bach. His uncle is franky vanhalen. Even his dog is is fido von sinatra. He started learning in moms womb when his mom was a month pregnant. He was singing and tapping beetovans 5th symphony the day he was born. After a week he was singing 4 part harmony to handles messiah. What a talent. But he was blessed with 6 fingers on each hand. He even plays 6 string bass guitar with his 6 toes. And peddles the hammond organ foot keys while juggling flaming swords and playing a church organ. They dont let him play in church anymore cause he burnt up the church stage. He actually can play every instrument and make pizza at the same time. His first teacher was Oscar petterson . his parents started him off giving him a waterproof roland d50 to practice since he started taking baths when he was 3 months old. The doctors gave him a brain scan and found he had an 88 key xyzolphone in the back of his brain. His tonsils have an insurance of 10 $billion in case he has to have them removed. True story.

This young man is so talented and so are the musicians he plays with. I was never exposed to much jazz music growing up and at age 65 its still pretty new to me. I can listen to this with all of its intricate sound and timing and love every bit of it. Justin's song Africa was one of the first songs I heard him play. His passion for music is inspirational to me and I hope it is to his generation as well.
