  • Dynamic NAT (Network Address Translation) is a method of translating IP addresses that allows multiple devices on a private network to share a single public IP address. This is useful for conserving public IP addresses, which are becoming increasingly scarce.
Dynamic PAT (Port Address Translation): This type of NAT assigns a single public IP address to a pool of private IP addresses. When a device on the private network initiates a connection to the Internet, the NAT router assigns it a temporary public port number. This port number is used to identify the device for the duration of the connection.
Dynamic NAT with overload: This type of NAT is similar to dynamic PAT, but it allows the NAT router to assign multiple private IP addresses to the same public IP address. This is done by using a technique called port multiplexing. Port multiplexing allows multiple devices to share the same public port number by using different TCP or UDP port numbers.
Dynamic NAT is a powerful tool that can be used to conserve public IP addresses and improve network security. However, it is important to configure dynamic NAT correctly to avoid potential problems, such as port conflicts and IP address exhaustion.
