That is an awesome video! The return of the knight was a nice addition if only for one night. This is the first time I saw a vampire associated with the ride (outside of a haunted mansion model kit in the 70's which featured a vampire). In the attic instead of two brides, the should have taken the animatronic one out and replaced her with the live actress who would pretend to be the animatronic only to surprise guests. I think the live actors should have remained with the ride, as it adds a new dimension and unpredictability to it due to different actors per day/night.
True. The original Disneyland Haunted Mansion doesn’t officially have it’s own vampire, but does have the mummy. It’s versions at Walt Disney World and Tokyo Disneyland have a painting of a vampire.
@@carterdunlap9957 good reply bro. Now the original Disneyland Haunted Mansion would of had it’s own vampire as there was an unused concept sketch for one of the changing portraits. In it, Dracula changes from himself into a bat headed monster with a flock of bats flying out of the alcove were his coffin is.

I did the very first Mickey's Halloween Treat in 1995 as a vampire in the Mansion, then in 1996 as the reaper/phantom character you see at the end here around 13:05 (the person in this vid is a different performer 'cause it was three years later). It was an absolute blast and it's a bummer that when they have live performers in the ride for special events nowadays, they're way more distanced from the guests.
I LOVED the first Mickey’s Halloween Treat. I still remember the HUGE inflated Maleficent standing outside the main gate welcoming all the guests that night. I LOVED that party. I also remember the first Annual Passholder party that year in January. Oh, things were different then.
@@PepperTreeVilla Haha yeah I was with a group of live characters that rotated through the mansion. I was a vampire named "Lord Ravenscroft" and was stationed by the escaping ghoul in the hallway a lot. The second year in 1996 (when I was the reaper) was twice as fun - one of my best memories during my time there. And indeed...things were quite different.
Adam Smithson The video camera used for this video was not of the highest quality. The audio suffered as a result. It’s not too bad considering that the recording was done nearly 20 years ago.
Oh! That may have been before a rehab. I remember in the mid 90s, the Mansion was down for several weeks to fix a different audio problem. The Doom Buggies has some audio issues where the “Ghost Host” was not always heard at all the specific spots along the tour.
This was seen on doombuggies.com
Adam Smithson Thanks for the info!
@@PepperTreeVilla thanks for uploading. BTW I'm an expert about the haunted mansion
Awesome. It’s one of our favorites. We’re looking forward to the 50th anniversary next year.
do you know of any official plans at Disneyland for the 50th?
Nothing yet, but as soon as my sources give me info, I’ll be doing a video here on my channel.
I find it quite refreshing to see video of the old changing portraits, especially April/December.
THE KNIGHT! HE'S HERE! I FINALLY FOUND EVIDENCE THAT THE GHOST EXISTED! I'M CRYING IN JOY RIGHT NOW!
Live actors at the Haunted Mansion during its 30th Anniversary in 1999.
1. Knight
2. Vampire
3. Two bridesmaids
4. Two graveyard ghosts
5. Grim Reaper
Loved it. So much fun.

There is a portrait of one in the Magic Kingdom/Tokyo Disney Mansion

Mary Dx5 Glad you enjoyed it.
Oooook.
They should do this every Halloween.
Will Lyon That would be fun.
I agree.
Thet one last scare toward the end after getting out if the doombuggie took me by surprise.
I’m glad you enjoyed the ride thru video despite the poor recording quality due to the limitations of the equipment at that time.
This was alot of fun to watch! Thanks for sharing!
Aww! Thank you so much. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Doug recorded it with an old video camera.

At 10:26 theres is another hand on the right. Are the two women supposed to be her bridemaids?
They were not necessarily bridesmaids. They were cast members standing in costume for the special event.
Pepper Tree Villa well they could be!

they do have bouquets, it would make sense for them to be emily's bridesmaids
Whatever they were, the bridesmaid at 10:31 looks a little like Jean Harlow, IMHO.
