    I don’t know if I will ever find someone that has exactly my taste. Like you, I have found many who are great reviewers or who like some of the same things that I do, but I don’t feel I can take anyone’s recommendation and just *know* I will like it. I’m ok with that though - I just look to others for inspiration on what to try - more recently focussed on things outside my usual comfort zone. Never a dull moment when it comes to fragrance sampling!
    I’m so glad I stumbled on your channel though, I stopped watching fragrance videos last year and you have re-invigorated the joy of watching these. 🙏

    For me owning many fragrances from one fragrance house is not about the flanker, but more about being partial to the houses DNA.

    Interlude man was the first bottle I purchased from amouage. It set a standard for me in my expectations from this house that had not been matched in full until overture man. And journey man to a point.
    For me, the triumvirate amouage are Interlude journey and overture. These I wear with discretion and when I'm in a suit or in a sportcoat.

    I also watch Maria Collett, even if I may not have the same taste... She has an uplifting personality... I love Amouage, but I'm not in love with all of them lol. Epic was my first Amouage ages ago. The pink pepper is what I love in it. Jubilation XXV is my second, there is something classy and opulent that contrasts with the tarragon note. I recently pulled the trigger on Beach hut and gold, I found them at great price in Europe and couldn't resist...

    The only fragrance from Amouage I have owned was Fate Woman, a really really strong spicy and incensy fragrance. I ended up selling it, it was beautiful, but too strong to wear to work and it I felt at that time it was too overpowering. Maybe I would have liked it better now? Of course I could get a sample, but I have limited space in my life for fragrances that are so strong and bombastic that you can only use them once or twice a year, I have one or two of those, and I do not hink I need more :)

    My favorite from Amouage is "Jubilation XXV Man". Recently, I added "Imitation Woman" to my collection, and it's now one of my favorite fragrances. Have you tried that one? Some of my favorites from Amouage include: Jubilation XXV Man, Imitation Woman, Interlude Man, Journey Man, Bracken Woman, and Memoir Woman.

      Not sure if I have tried Imitation Woman. Just glanced through the notes and this one might be tricky for me. Am not super into fruity fragrances and black currant and licorice with incense sounds like a bit of a challenge. But will check it out next time I get the chance. Memoir Woman is beautiful, that one I know well. Journey Woman is also incredible!

    Journey man is a must own from amouage. It is one of my go tos from the house. So versatile in scent but the incense and spice blend in it is so delicious and hearty. Longevity is an issue though, at least my bottle

    I had to exchange Portrayl - it was soooo screechy, sweet and synthetic. Starts off with jasmine and ends up in a cherry accord. Way too bombastic. Could not deal with it but performance was great. Kinda regret exchanging it, simply because it was projecting amazingly, but what is the point if I am not liking the way I smell ? :) Honour is much cleaner and pretty I think..

    • @thehonestperfumereviewer6336
      @thehonestperfumereviewer6336  Год назад +1

      Must get my nose on that. I find Overture Woman almost bombastic as well and am still not certain about it. It seems like I will be selling decants of it until I run out. That way I won't lose all that money. It seems hard to get ahold of. No shop in Sweden carries that fragrance. Tried Honour yesterday and it is beautiful and quite an easy wear. But need to give it a "proper wearing" to be able to say for sure.

    Memoir woman I had a bottle of then sold later. It is very inky and absinthe, unique smelling, kind of Gothic, and very dark. I found it interesting but I couldn't handle more than a spray or two or it got very cloying and then I kept sensing something buttery in it which I didn't like.

    I’ve only smelled three Amouage scents: Reflection Man, Blossom Love, and Meander. Oh how I LOVE Meander! It’s truly Unisex. So creamy and I get something camphorous (Cypriol?). So perfect!

      @@aristurtle007 I am not sure, but I think those flankers with the numbers are an amped up version of the original. Epic 56 is more than Epic etc. But have not even seen that Honour has an intense version. Am assuming is is an intense version of Honour Woman.

    Why are you judging someone who’s collecting perfumes not in the way you do? That’s so unprofessional. A guest here, but got surprised by your rant. Sounds like gossip.

    • @thehonestperfumereviewer6336
      @thehonestperfumereviewer6336  10 месяцев назад +3

      I am not a professional, maybe that is why it sounds unprofessional. I don't have time to relisten to my own video right now, but I cannot imagine that I jugded anyone who collects differently than I do. If I did, I apologize. It is of course up to everyone to do what they want. Just sharing my perspective. I might have said that some people get a kick out of lining up many fragrances from the same house and I don't. That is just my opinion. Thank you for commenting and you are free to stop watching anytime if you don't like my content.

    I haven't smelled any of their fragrances and it's for three reasons. 1, this is a very expensive hobby so I'm pumping the brakes in 2023 for perfume purchases, 2, the bottle designs are so hideous, 3,I haven't heard reviews about this house that moves me.

    Their is nothing called holy dagger in Islam. However Christian do have a Holy Lance. Did you hear about it?

    • @brabalans348
      @brabalans348 Год назад +3

      I think she meant to say the “Oman dagger” not digger… but it just came out wrong with a tiny slip of the tongue…
      As far as I understand the history of the Amouage brand the symbolism on the bottles are not meant to be a strict connection to Islam as a religion but more to connect to symbolism of the country Oman. At least that is what is said in websites where the company presents itself. There it says that some of the bottles bears the shape of the Omani dagger, which is described as a national symbol of Oman, while some bottles wear the shape of the dome of the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Oman.

    • @muniryassin6141
      @muniryassin6141 Год назад

      @@brabalans348 What was said is Holy Dagger. What is a holy dagger? Nothing like that exist. I would love to hear someone speak about the holy Lance, next time they see a bottle of that shape. And a holy Lancer is a real thing.

    • @thehonestperfumereviewer6336
      @thehonestperfumereviewer6336  Год назад

      I don't think I said Islam but Oman (will listen again). I read it somewhere when I was researching the brand. Maybe it was not holy but symbolic in some other way. Don't know of the Holy Lance.

    • @brabalans348
      @brabalans348 Год назад +4

      @@muniryassin6141To be specific what she says in the only passage where the word holy is used is in reference to the caps of the perfume bottles designed for the amouage mens collection that it “supposedly is in the shape of the country’s holy dagger, or whatever”. So there is no reference to Islam whatsoever… That is a connection that you make. Things can actually also be considered holy for other reasons than connected to a specific religion… It seems a little narrow minded to make such a big deal out of 1: a slip of the tongue and 2: a small attempt to explain that apparently the shapes of the lids of these perfume bottles has some resemblance to meaningful symbols in Oman. As a consumer it is of less importance if it is meant to be a holy symbol of a particular religion or holy in another way as a symbol for the country of origin of the perfume.
      In fact from a market perspective it is probably more desirable if a potential connection to a specific religion is kept out as that may make some people less inclined to discover this perfume houses interesting perfumes…
      As far as the very uninteresting and strange connection you make to the holy lancer that was according to the stories in the bible used to spear the dead Christ with on the cross by a Roman hand. As that has nothing to do with either holy or unholy daggers in Oman nor anything to do with this perfume house… Maybe there are other more fitting places to discuss your personal opinions on religious artefacts than in connection to a RUclips clip about nice perfumes from Oman… ?
