    Hei! So much fun to see your top 10! I think some of your favourites are too sweet for me,like Journey and Musc Ravageur. But the Estee Lauder PC I really love,very clean and classic. I am having a moment with white florals right now,and I ❤ J'adore the OG from Dior, and to me it is still a relevant fragrance. Besides from that I wear Fille en Aiguilles and Daim Blond from Serge Lutens and Beige from Chanel. I also was a bit surprised when I heard the notes from the Acne Studios perfume, they are like you said quite modern, and I would not guess aldehydes to be the first choice of notes. But now I am quite curious to test it😂

    I have a bottle of Private Collection bought about twenty years ago. it used to be the signature scent of former Queen (now Princess) Beatrix of The Netherlands. Curious to hear your opinion on the new Chanel, Comète. My current to 10 (most worn): Cuir Cannage (Dior), Cuir Mauresque (Serge Lutens) - these are quite similar, incidentally, but CM is more lush and floral (orange blossom); 1957 Chanel, Relique d'Amour (Oriza L. Legrand), Marienbad (Prada), Encens Mythique (Guerlain), Je Reviens (vintage, moonbottle, Worth), Black Orchid (parfum, Tom Ford), Noir de Noir (Tom Ford), Misia (Chanel).

      I appreciate your list of fragrances. I've been very intrigued to try Marienbad (Prada). Would you describe it as a "head shop/tibetan shop" type of fragrance?

    • @Loufi303
      @Loufi303 3 месяца назад +2

      @@regismonkton Thanks. I would nót describe it as a head shop scent, although it is a scent that will go to your head. lol If reminiscent of any type of shop than a chic antiques store - the oud reads to my nose as a beautiful santal; wooden cabinets. It also has an (Asian) 'lacquered' feel. It's fairly dark and fairly sweet (specifically in comparison to the dry leather i'm currently wearing, Cuir Cannage), with a gorgeous plum note. In addition, it's quite 'smoldering' possibly due to the animalics. The blend is superb, it's a timeless 'old world,' 'old money' kind of fragrance. I was and still am completely mesmerized by Marienbad, and bought a backup as soon as I had the chance (which I don't often do). A desert island pick for sure.

    Hi Kicki. I appreciate your "Current Top Ten Fragrance List". I want to try all the ones you mentioned (however, I've already tried Amouage "Journey Woman" and I like it). Currently, my Top Ten Favorite Fragrances from my collection are: Guerlain "Bois Mysterieux", "Lalique Pour Homme EDP", V Canto "Mea Culpa", Amouage "Jubilation XXV Man", Veronique Gabai "Cap d'Antibes", Milano Fragranze "Basilica", Dolce & Gabbana "Velvet Incenso", Guerlain "Heritage EDT", Mauboussin "Une Histoire D'Homme Irresistible", and Giorgio Armani "Acqua di Gio Profumo".
    Recently, I've been adding some "church incense" fragrances to my collection. Dolce & Gabbana "Velvet Incenso" has become my favorite "church incense" fragrance so far. I got it for a relatively great price. I even got a backup bottle of it because I like it a lot and it was being sold for a good price. What are some "church incense" fragrances which you feel are worth recommending to someone who likes that style of fragrance?

    • @thehonestperfumereviewer6336
      @thehonestperfumereviewer6336  3 месяца назад +1

      I don't know really, it is not my favorite category of fragrance. Caftan by YSL good but I sold it, because I didn't wear it much. I like the Serge Lutens one that is called something Dans le bleu qui petille. It smells like a church in a sea! And speaking of that, I love Unda Maris from Filipo Sorcinelli. That is a churchy marine incense fragrance. But also ambery.

    I think since going back to work and having to "worry" about how you smell and how your scent is perceived at work has your sense of smell in a heightened status and more sensitive and able to smell better, similar to when we would typically use our sense of smell to perceive and avoid danger throughout human evolution.

    Hi Kicki, It is funny that there are teenage boys who are into such high end fragrances. I’m 65 now, but when I was about 18 I wore Tea Rose (Perfumer's Workshop) and Wind song (Prince Matchbelli) . But I also bought a bottle of Dioressence (the extrait in the vial-like bottle and the juice was the same deep green shape of vintage Emeraude) It’s a beautiful chypre that I really had no business buying on my nurses aide pay. I think it cost about $50 in 1978- which is about $275.00 in today’s money. When I see young woman & men in their late teens and early 20s with these sizable perfume collections, I think mmmm? Is this the result not just of social media but also of globalism too? Thats what I assume, because when I was that age just that one bottle of Dioressence broke the bank for me and was a very irresponsible purchase. Only very wealthy people would have been able to have collections of high end luxury fragrances- and I didn’t know anyone like that, so I never saw anyone with more than one or two expensive perfumes. The world has changed so much. Today I’m retired and I have a large collection compared to people who are not into perfume beyond owning a few bottles- which is how I enjoyed and wore perfume too most of my life. But, for me it changed during the pandemic when I discovered perfume RUclips. Size-wise I think my collection is in the same realm as yours and it’s the size I want to keep it at. I also like a lot of perfumes that you’ve reviewed on your channel and have liked.
    You’ve mentioned about three *perfumes that are also on my current list of favorites (No 19 Poudre, Private Collection & Cacao Porcelana)
    Currently the favorites in my collection are
    24 Foubourg (Hermès)
    Ormond Woman (Ormonde Jayne)
    Tsarina Intensivo (Ormonde Jayne)
    Vanilla Planifolia (Chloé)
    Gentle Fluidity Gold (MFK)
    Loukhoum (Keiko Mercheri
    Iris Poudre Frederic Malle
    Tempo (Diptyque)
    Mon Guerlain (the OG & Intense)
    No 19 Poudre * (Chanel)
    A few other favorites that I’m not wearing much lately because we’re in Spring, but they’re still favorites, are Starlight (Xerjoff), Overture (Amouage) & Cacao Porcelana* (Atelier Materi)
    I’ve also been wearing several of my favorite vintage perfumes- Boudoir (Vivienne Westwood) is the #1 jewel of my collection, 1000 by Jean Patou is a longtime favorite of mine, and have recently picked up a few new ones that have been on my wishlist for a about a year, including a vintage bottle of the original Coco Chanel in the Extrait formulation, a bottle of Estée Lauder Private Collection* (like the bottle & formulation you have). And I just got a bottle of Theo Fennell Scent (quite rare to come up for sale here in the U.S.)
    Love your channel and hearing your opinions and perspectives. Thanks.
