Such elegance and controlled virtuosity that serves only to bring attention to the glory of the music, not the performer! And yet, those of us who knew John Scott's playing can surely vouch for his amazing technical brilliance ... but it was never an end in itself, but a means by which the MUSIC was expressed clearly and powerfully. Seeing and hearing this makes me realize all the more what the world has lost. May he rest in peace!

I was very lucky to sing in Wakefield with John accompanying us on the harpsichord while we were still at school. Gone too soon. RIP. x

I listen to John Scott playing this piece often as I do for much of his work. How I love many of those Organ Scholars that have come out of St. John's College and those who had the honor of working with Dr. George Guest. We will all miss John's organ playing and thankfully to modern technology we can enjoy it for years to come. John blessed us with his talent, I only hope that he too has finally met that great organist, J.S. Bach as they share their eternal rest in Heaven.

Splendid, great performance by John Scott. R.I.P. Especially this time using the swelling, volume pedals. What a magnificant musician John Scott to whom we still can enjoy by seeing and hearing in this way on You Tube. Many Thanks !

+P Jo Regarding the swell pedal, the engines were not functioning correctly at that time (long story - now they work correctly). Even with their problems John did a magnificent job. What a genius.

A pity his page-turner did not stand more out-of-shot. Her staggering impassivity is a distraction.
