29:40 You're correct. When Stolas hid his face behind the menu, that was all the "proof" Blitzø needed to "know" he wasn't worth loving. Hence his infatuation with M&M, he wants to know love, feel love, but he just can't UNDERSTAND love.

      That's so sad 😢
Also I don't think Stolas covered his face because he was embarrassed for being with Blitzø.
More like he was ashamed seeing Octavia turning away from him.
Not Asmodeus and Fizz making him feel guilty for leaving his awful wife...😂

You can also talk for 15 minutes about 3 seconds of screen time, which is amazing. I think my channel could benefit from reactions(good ones, not just saying "wow" occasionally) if I could show my face.

I like your analysis of the characters because you take into account the many sides of them, good and bad, emotionally simple or complex, they have many gray areas and that's what make me invested in the series. Also, what you said about the balance of comedy and touching scenes is another thing I love, sometimes everything is chaos or random jokes, and other times you have wholesome stuff happening or a lot of drama. Both Blitzø and Stolas have a lot of background as characters, and their development to get into a relationship, being that anything remotely close and honest as friendship or something more, is excellent so far.

Imp City IS in the Pride Ring, supposedly just outside of Pentagram City where most of the Sinners live. The '9 circles' are then inside of the Pride Ring as well, but since this is a little convoluted it might get ret-conned.

    Here’s how the hierarchy goes
Lucifer: King of the Pride Ring and also all of Hell
Lilith: Lucifer’s wife and queen of Hell
Charlie: prices and heir to the throne of Hell
The other six of the Seven Deadly Sins (Satan, Beelzebub, Mammon, Asmodeus, Leviathan and Belphegor): Kings of the other six rings and are most likely Fallen Angels
The Ars Goetia (Stolas is here): A clan of demons who are most likely Fallen Angels and despite having Royal titles (such as kings and princes) they are not true royalty and instead serve as Hell’s version of aristocrats
The Overlord: A class of immensely powerful Sinners and Hellborns who rule over their own sections and mediums of Hell and are essentially Hell’s version of politicians (some notable ones are Alastor, Vox, Valentino and Velvet)
The Sinners: Demons who were once humans and reborn in Hell as “punishment” for their crimes in life (they are confined to the Pride Ring as Lucifer wants to keep God’s favorite creations for himself and they rank above the Hellborns as Sinners are immortal unlike the Hellborns who just have very long lifespans)
Hellborns: Demons who were naturally born in Hell such as Succubi, the unnamed classes of demons you see in the background of this episode, Imps and Hellhounds (Succubi are possibly the highest ranking Hellborns and Imps and Hellhounds are the lowest ranked demons with Imps being thought of as slaves and Hellhounds being thought of as pets)

Personally I knew all of this already but it’s really cool to have it all laid out like this.
Something else about the world building that I think is interesting is the presence of non self-aware hellborn (such as the horses, pig, and shark from episode 5). What I’m getting at specifically is the potential conflict between the original natural order of hellborn and the sociopolitical order that’s been imposed by other self-aware beings (most notably fallen angels like Lucifer). There could have been a time where self-aware hellborn were the dominant demographic with their own social norms that developed in conjunction with the non self-aware hellborn of each environment. Also, were sinners always sent to hell? If so, were there different rules before Lucifer’s arrival?

I gotta say, I love your reactions, sir! You really dive into all of the background details and the lore to the same minute detail that I do when I first watch an new episode, and it’s incredibly satisfying to see! And you’re character analysis is almost always incredibly on point, because you take the time to notice all the details that the show provides!
So many reactors I’ve seen barely bother to analyze things beyond surface level observations, and it’s incredibly frustrating at times, so you are a true breath of fresh air!
Plus, the fact that you’re familiar with the actual demonology, too, and so can notice the references to it in the character designs and backgrounds and such is really cool! 😁
I’m now going to continue binging the rest of your reactions to this series, but I just had to express my appreciation for your work. 😊

19:42 It means that as one of the seven deadly sins (who I think just basically appeared as soon as Hell started) he's third on the hierarchy and is above everyone else including Stolas and the rest of the royal demon families. The only ones above Asmodeus and the other deadly sins are Charlie, Lilith, and Lucifer (Charlie and Lilith rank second, Lucifer ranks first - he's the sin of pride and rules over the pride ring since pride is supposed to be the root of the other sins but he's also the king of hell in its entirety so the rest of the sins who each rule over their own ring of hell (one for each sin) answer only to him - I don't think he gets down to the other rings that much).

      To expound on this a little more, and I apologize for the length;
Hell in Vivzie's world has seven rings, and each ring has a ruler who governs it. These rulers represent the deadly sin of their ring, and they are part of the top hierarchy of Hell. The order of hierarchy is as follows:
Lucifer - Sin of Pride, King of Hell
Charlie and Lilith - Immediate family to Lucifer
Remaining Lords of Sin - The other six Sins who rule their respective rings. Asmodeus falls here.
The Ars Goetia - It is unknown if only Geotic demons inhabit this tier, but these demons seem similar to lesser nobles subordinate to Lucifer, and so far have all been bird-themed. Asmodeus might be a higher-ranked Goetic demon, but we don't know. They have duties they carry out and in general seem to help Hell run more smoothly. Stolas falls here.
Overlords - Demons with a strong degree of influence within the Pride ring. It is unknown if fighting strength is a criteria or not, or what the ratio of native-born demons to Sinners is. This tier seems more relevant for Hazbin Hotel than for Helluva Boss. Alastor falls here.
Sinner Demons - Humans who have died and been cast into Hell for their sins, these demons are trapped within the Pride ring and cannot freely traverse the other rings. Because this is meant to be a punishment, Sinners cannot die through conventional means, cannot have children, and take forms related to their personalities and manner of death. Sinners are the primary target of the yearly Exterminations that occur in Pride as a form of population control. Angel Dust, Vaggie, and Husk fall here.
Hellborn Demons - A general classification for all hellborn species of demons, with two exceptions. As Hellborn demons are native to Hell, they are not restricted in the way that Sinners are and can freely traverse all seven rings. They live normal lives, have a finite lifespan, and don't exhibit too much personal strength, though some exceptions can occur. Verosika falls here.
Imps - One of two exceptions to the Hellborn classification, Imps are considered lower in the hierarchy but remain extremely numerous. It is suspected Wrath may be the original home ring of the Imps, but this is unconfirmed. Blitzo, Moxxie and Millie fall here.
Hellhounds - One of two exceptions to the Hellborn classification, the Hellhounds occupy the lowest tier of hierarchy in Hell. The exact nature of the position of Hellhounds remains unclear, but the two examples we've seen so far imply Hellhounds are attached to members of higher species and have their roles defined by them, i.e. Vortex works as Verosika's bodyguard while Blitzo adopted Loona as a daughter. Loona and Vortex fall here.
I feel it is important to note that while the Lesser Key of Solomon is a major source of inspiration for the Goetic demons in this universe, and in this instance aligns with the positions of Asmodeus and Stolas in Vivzie's hierarchy of Hell, it should nevertheless not be taken as absolute truth. A source of inspiration remains only a source, and its application to the story can be twisted in any way or form as required or desired by Vivzie and her team.

@@malkariss Btw. the hierarchy mentioned here (the seven deadly sind and their rulers) is not solely based on the Lesser Key of Solomon but mainly on bishop Binsfeld's classification of demons as part of the book "Treatise on Confessions by Evildoers and Witches".

I don't trust the "Blitz is right to believe Stolas only wants him for the sex". All reactors aren't like "it's obvious he wants more" at this point, but like, if Stolas really wanted him only for sex, Blitz wouldn't have tried calling him in the first place (and really, when you look at Blitz's reaction when he gets the idea, he's just happy with himself and looks pretty sure it's gonna work, he's only embarrassed once on the phone), and Stolas wouldn't have agreed either (it was simply presented as a date). Stolas also invited him to the festival (sure, he flirted a lot, but still). I think there are hints, but as we see later in the show, there are reasons Blitz ignores them.
Yeah, the heart tattoo on Verosika's shoulder indeed says "Blitz", crossed, you could see it in ep 3 but you forgot to check when she approached the "camera" xD
