Didn't the volcano in Iceland keep erupting for almost a year?
The volcanoes on Hawaii also erupt fir months at a time.

What you have done is put a personal perspective on this natural disaster like no ones else is doing. I was watching the live streams of the footage you started the report with and all I can think was the poor people of Tazacourte. 29 days ago I did not know anything about Tazacourte but now I can help but think of the people affected by the volcano. Be safe Bear and my prayers are with you and your neighbors on the island.

Hope you’re staying safe, BB. As I write this I see the island got its worst earthquake to date only 30 minutes ago. Barely stronger the previously strongest one, but still… strongest to date. Also, deep, but about 10km shallower than the previously strongest one. Makes me concerned that there’s a large lava pool rising towards the surface. Stay safe, BB.

@@jimluebke3869 I saw that ocean water sprayed on the lava flows in Iceland. I don't think the have the resources and La Palma is a larger, faster lava flow. Also, Iceland's advantage is that it's much colder, therefore that method of controlling the flow may be much more effective.
@@jodrew1845 Yeah, and in this case the dangerous part of the flow is the inland part rather than the part near the water, which would require a whole lot more pumping horsepower.
I guess humans just have to respect that we're not necessarily in charge, when geology is involved.

Many ask why people don't just leave the island. They don't realize that it costs a lot to leave and many don't have anyone or anywhere else to go to.

There are records of eruptions on La Palma since 1480. That's a long time for a community to live with it. An eruption has to become exceptional before full evacuation is considered. Still, I don't like the blow torch fissure, it's different to any other eruption video I've seen.
