Not gonna lie, this boss fight was pretty damn fun. The music, the actual fight, and the visuals were all amazing. We need more games to have threats like Dark Falz go down in a satisfying conclusion.
And is it just me, or do the opening lyrics of The Eternal Wind feel more... threatening when backing Dark Falz, of all things? It's almost like it's *the monster itself* singing this to the ARKS opposing it, as if to say "your story ends here, darkness is coming... so why don't you just let me send you to an eternal slumber where you can dream of your 'light' forever?"
@@thestranger2282 Hard disagree. If it were meant to be threatening, it would be along the lines of "Give up, give in, your time is nigh," possibly with a growling effect. It's more accurate to attribute it to the heroes' side (perhaps Aina specifically, since most of the lyrics seem to be about her and her development since chapter one) giving one final sendoff to the fallen before bringing Dark Falz to justice.
I actually really liked the opening of song of mourning in this version compared to the original, It just sound like an epic start of an epic battle Also nadereh singing here makes a lot of sense since her song can weaken Dolls (and DF)

Still remember getting on shot with an entire team of people and everyone started busting out laughing then we all got revived by someone that actual knows how to dodge😭
In my case in one of the runs I did, the entire group (except me) fell at one point during one of those failed DPS checks and I was like gotta combine the familiar guard skill, familiar harmony, normal parries and dodges to survive... and then revive the entire party (turned out that I didn't have to use familiar harmony skill for it's invis frames at all for survival), this fight really was fun with a great pacing, something I didn't really see in NGS compared to most Oracle's boss focused Urgent Quests (had a good warm-up... kinda by fighting Dark Falz Persona in Oracle before my 2nd to last run yesterday and vs Primordial Darkness as well before the last one, yesterday was pure DF Aegis fights as all other Aelio UQs got ditched out entirely, but right now, Aelio UQ situation has returned to normal).
The hilarious part is the same thing happened with me, EVERYONE died.... except me, and I was like "YO I LOVE BEING A HUNTER LET'S GOOOO" before reviving everyone. That skill that let's you survive on 1HP is freaking BUSTED LOL
Honestly, if they hadn't fucked up the launch and retained most of the players they would have enough funds to make epic bosses like this every 3 months or so. It has been 2 years already, the content and the quality of it is lackluster. NGS had an amazing potential to be one of the most played mmo ever but they had to screw it over by giving it a few bucks for development.

The devs want to make games, but sometimes the companies are content to just try to sell people on the 'idea' of a great game being made instead of actually making it. The companies need to learn it won't pay out in the long run and realize the value their ideas could actually be worth if they put in the work to make them real. If SEGA figures/figured it out soon enough, maybe they'll be able to do something about it.

I gotta say, most of the field boss type UQs are bland but it worked to sell the scale of Dark Falz and following it up with this is just. Mm. Perfect.
I'm forever shocked with the segment that starts at 2:30, which is pretty much the 3rd phase. Vocals suddenly fade, and an ominous song takes place as Aegis changes his cyberspace into red, doing a great display of power while remaining completely immovile, as if he needed no further actions to wipe the ARKs away. By the time vocals come back, we're already running one way or another, pushing Dark Falz with his own powers, while the song questions the whole meaning of it all. It's simply beautiful
Yeah the way this section is just fantastically designed tbh. That melody, and the fact that the camera pulls RIGHT OUT as you scramble on platforms, tossing chunks at the boss. It's usually timed so perfectly that as soon as that vocal kicks in 'why won't you answer me?' it just FEELS like it's exactly the music that should be playing at that very moment based on what you're doing.
I don't think we can go back to regular world bosses after this. I know the original Falz UQ was already somewhat special, but this is where UQs need to be from now on... Not just for an endgame every two years or so...
@@Angel_Flash oh I know. that's why I've been so disappointed with NGS UQs except the Falz ones. Even more then the first one, this one goes back to those classic PSO2 UQ values and I don't want to go back to NGS field bosses again after it :(
This just chapter 1 btw, I read somewhere the plan for this game is to be above 250 level. Apparently that also what makes data mining being banned, there is template for 258 lvl unit largely unfinished just model.

Curious that they did the same thing for the song as they did with the final fight of PSO2 OG against Primordial Darkness where there's 2 people singing similar verses but with different words like they had different meaning. Also Manon is sus as fuck and this song only makes me suspect her more.
Sega have everything right in this UQ beside one thing, the boss didn't hit like a truck to Isekai us to 100 different universe. They should fix that so the boss really is intimidating and feel like fighting ultima weapon.
Well uh, this is the first raid level boss in NGS, so like, the equivalent of Dark Falz Elder. I haven't seen anyone decent at the game die to Elder lol
to be fair. I blame the constant heal item refills you get. because he can two shot you. its just less nerve wrecking because you can just keep healing through it with relatively strong healing items, that don't make you stand still to use them like classic pso2. its faster and less dangerous to heal yourself. point is. he does hit like a truck. you just can pop an ELIXIR in 0.1 seconds with a button tap.
If we put in contrast how that was the very last song of base PSO2 but it was the first one for actual raid level boss in NGS, I really hope NGS outdoes base just that much in the coming future

Not sure about the first vocalist, however, the second vocalist is definitely Aimee Blackschleger, who was the main vocalist for Meteorn's Song (as well as songs in PSO2 ep6 like ALL ARKS and Dark to Light). Given that both JP and global have the same vocal track, it's likely she's some english language vocalist based in japan as they usually do. I believe the idea is that the singers are supposed to represent both Aina and Manon; with Manon being the familiar B voice as she was the original singer of Meteorn's Song. I originally thought it could've been Nadereh's voice actress but then i realized this didn't really line up with the lore context lol.
I think so. I think the B voice is Aina too. Fits with their characters... Manon's story arc is still open and it fits with her pain. Aina's arc is resolved and it fits with her to be reaching out to offer support. I also think Meteorn's song is a mix of Manon and our Meteorn's song, so in diptych these are great character progression for MC and Manon.

I think it would make sense 100% due to the cut scene with Gaora pushing you entrusting you with the future and finish dark falz off something he died trying to do. B is hard to tell still but I am ending with manon and I think the mixed vocal is suppose to be the guardians/meteorns.

Curious that they did the same thing for the song as they did with the final fight of PSO2 OG against Primordial Darkness where there's 2 people singing similar verses but with different words like they had different meaning.
Also Manon is sus as fuck and this song only makes me suspect her more.

Sega have everything right in this UQ beside one thing, the boss didn't hit like a truck to Isekai us to 100 different universe.
They should fix that so the boss really is intimidating and feel like fighting ultima weapon.
Well uh, this is the first raid level boss in NGS, so like, the equivalent of Dark Falz Elder. I haven't seen anyone decent at the game die to Elder lol

to be fair. I blame the constant heal item refills you get. because he can two shot you. its just less nerve wrecking because you can just keep healing through it with relatively strong healing items, that don't make you stand still to use them like classic pso2. its faster and less dangerous to heal yourself.
point is. he does hit like a truck. you just can pop an ELIXIR in 0.1 seconds with a button tap.

Not sure about the first vocalist, however, the second vocalist is definitely Aimee Blackschleger, who was the main vocalist for Meteorn's Song (as well as songs in PSO2 ep6 like ALL ARKS and Dark to Light). Given that both JP and global have the same vocal track, it's likely she's some english language vocalist based in japan as they usually do. I believe the idea is that the singers are supposed to represent both Aina and Manon; with Manon being the familiar B voice as she was the original singer of Meteorn's Song.
I originally thought it could've been Nadereh's voice actress but then i realized this didn't really line up with the lore context lol.
It's sounds like Aina VA in English I wonder if it's the same in JP or if it's just the English only

I think so. I think the B voice is Aina too. Fits with their characters... Manon's story arc is still open and it fits with her pain. Aina's arc is resolved and it fits with her to be reaching out to offer support.
I also think Meteorn's song is a mix of Manon and our Meteorn's song, so in diptych these are great character progression for MC and Manon.
@@holonholon1141 actually A is definately Aina she sings the song of mourning for Gaora to tell him to rest. I think it would make sense 100% due to the cut scene with Gaora pushing you entrusting you with the future and finish dark falz off something he died trying to do. B is hard to tell still but I am ending with manon and I think the mixed vocal is suppose to be the guardians/meteorns.
