Ive got the exact same machine and I use the proper Nespresso stuff and I kept putting my machine through cycle after cycle thinking it would ‘auto stop’ after either 20 mins of cleaning or when it recognised it was done as the actual Nespresso video suggests should be the case but this was so much clearer …aided by the fact that you’ve clarified it with Nespresso on the phone!
Great video and extremely helpful. Thank you. I thought I'd add that you need to start the second descale cycle within 2 mins after the first cycle. You also need to physically remove the water tank after the first cycle as that is how the machine determines that it has completed the first cycle. If you don't do the above you may find that your machine will display a half red/half orange indicator when you turn it on after descaling. This means it hasn't recognised that the descaling process has completed. The only way around this is to run the descaling process again (you only need to use water this time round). This information came directly from Nespresso support.

This video finally got my machine to cooperate and not have the red/green light anymore. (Even after using descaling liquid and following manuals instructions.) I used distilled white vinegar this time and followed the instructions to a T. Even made sure to do as a comment below had suggested and started the 2nd portion within 2 minutes of the first, and removal of tank. It worked! Making sure to save this very helpful video for future use. Thanks so much!
Super helpful. The main Nespresso guide is a bit useless. This video explains the slight nuances that you will experience through the process, e.g. that the water will continue to filter endlessly unless you stop it. Very helpful indeed

Thank you that made my life a lot easier. :-) The thing about this booklet when it tells you how to clean it the most confusing part is when it tells you to push the lever down and you’re conscious about the button on top so when you see the next step and you see the button and it confuses your mind but in reality the booklet is easy to follow. And if you follow it with the video you’ll see what I’m talking about.
1:18 instructions start Remove any capsules. Add all descaling fluid + 500ml water to water container. Hold front lever down 3 sec. Hold both buttons 3 sec. Press front lever for descaling mode. Then press top orange flashing button. Ensure jug to catch fluid is 1 litre. 4:24 cleaning cycle: Wash and refill water container with clean water. Empty jug of descaling waste. Press orange flashing button to start. Wait for all water to pass through. Be patient. 5:05 finishing process: Hold both buttons for 3 sec. Top button flashes green. Leave for 10 mins to cool down. Light will be solid green in less the 1 min.
Thank you for your video. It is much easier to follow than the official version on Nespresso. I find myself agreeing with the viewer on Nespresso who said that she would like a dedicated button on the machine for this process. It would add to the cost of the machine, but some things are worth paying for.
I’ve always used the genuine Nespresso solution myself. I thought it was best to ensure I was not only getting rid of the bitterness but prolonging the life of the machine as well
The video was very helpful, though in the process of descaling with the pink liquid the machine kept stopping and continuing which was very confusing (that’s when you were supposed to mention it). In the end I managed to run both processes 1) Pink liquid descaling and 2) Water descaling. Thank you 🧸

I really wish I had done this before the warning light and may just mark the calendar to do it quarterly from now forward if it helps the taste.
I personally really do notice the difference after descaling as can taste the coffee becoming more bitter as it comes close to needing to be descaled. Really glad the video helped 🙂

Yeah for how often you need to descale, it doesn't seem like a huge expense but understand why people might look for cheaper descaling solutions.
