It depends on your/their build but you can look at the spells each class has available. From this youll know what to look out for like when to wait out the cooldown etc
Also for classes that don't have access to bows or crossbows, mostly just talking from Barb experience here, going into the dungeon with extra throwing axes is a great idea. Not only is it the only source of range damage you can use as Barb, but throwing axes also have a movement penalty if you hit the enemy with it, making closing the gap easier.
agreed, I'm a new player (started playing 2-3 days ago) and I like playing fighter with a targe and sword/falchion and throwing axes + shield bash have let me catch up to much faster classes even in plate armor
don't forget how powerful Achilles strike is with throwing axes insane slowdown on players making it super easy to kill them when you pop rage to close the distance aswell
Today, I had an awesome Warlock on Warlock Longsword Violence encounter in a narrow hallway in the crypts. It was so good. And I won. That was nice, too.
I've seen people just stack magical healing with warlock and win nearly every fight because they use hydra and always have full health and players can't push because of hydra and the flame trail
Great vid and thanks for the lesson, making sure all my friends watch this to improve! Anyway you could go more in depth with what matchups counter what and same with what abilities work well against other classes?
Im contemplating doing a full matchup guide for all the classes in solos but thats going to end up being a ton of work and super subjective so I havent come to a decision yet, but potentially itll be coming in the future. I appreciate the feedback! Glad I could help :D
Interesting to see the other side of this. I play a maxed health barbarian build and am not fast enough to chase most other classes. But I've been realizint that most classes like you showed in the video will engage in a blow for blow fight if they think they have an advantage. With bards I have successfully baited a few by fake running after taking 2 arrow hits and "playing panicked" while still having 200 health. Once they melee its usually over since they overstimated their advantage.

as someone who plays a fair bit of warlock, the situation with slayer fighter hiding behind a corner to force phantomise will not really work because I can just keep spawning hydra in front of him, slowly wearing him down and activate flamewalk before attempting to curse, making the chase impossible, this matchup is not fair The only way slayer or rogue can win is landmine
I play a fair bit of warlock myself and at least from my experience I can say that the hydra strat does not work that well against good or geared players and what you described is what I like to call a stale mate. You can permanently spawn hydras in the doorway next to him and he can permanently dodge the hydra firebolts but if you ever jump over your hydra to try and curse him or ever place the hydra too deep and try to walk into the room youre opening yourself up majorly to being punished. Essentially, youre on one side of the doorway and hes on the other and youre placing a hydra in the doorway. Whichever person makes the decision to Crouch jump over the hydra is the one that usually ends up losing which is why to me it seems like a stale mate.

I have no interest in fighting anyone I have a significant advantage over or take by surprise. I want them to see I am there and prepare to/expect to engage in a fight if they so choose to. Today alone I had three different instances of trying to avoid a fight at all costs that lead to the other players death because they wouldn't just leave when I had a VERY clear advantage, and when I gave them time and time and time again (I even lead one aggressive player to a stairs exit) and they just pushed and kept attacking. I really want to get into this game, but the matches being so short and the fact that 25 gear score is the threshold for geared lobbies is really putting me off everytime i try to play. I equip white pants and green gloves and apparently that makes my level 7 ass (deleting to try new classes on free acct) equal to level 70s in full blues and epics in every single slot lol. Always feels like im rushing too, only to loot 2 rooms before I need to extract. The pvp looks fun and intricate like in this video but it never plays out like these for me
Yeah I get that I can just stay in the baby lobbies by wearing all starter gear, but then it feels like I'm missing out on what I view as the main point of the game which is loot and gearing out. Going in with all base stats sucks. Just wish the min gear score for baby lobbies was a bit higher or maybe a greens-only lobby system, so I can at least interface with the buildcraft somewhat. I don't think green gear (even white gear pushes you past 25...) is strong enough to warrant being put against epics and legendaries
@@sl5945 nah bro you're not missing out on a huge part as you might think. There are some classes (wizard for example) that just aren't good in base gear as they are in BIS kit. But other than that you are not missing out on anything, like really. Just train your pvp skills in standard lobbies while you try to farm some gold. When you will have some cash to invest in a good kit (and hopefully better pvp skills by then) you will just buy what you need on the market and go in a "big boys lobby" with no fear. Oh and btw don't call them "baby lobbies", I (and I think the major part of the community) enjoy normals way more than the sweat fest that are HR or even > 25. And lastly, if you would allow green gear to be eligible for < 25 it would destroy completely the balance of < 25 (due to the random attributes that roll on green gear and higher) that is the main reason why they are so great. You are on even ground with anyone. Sorry for the very long response and I hope that it was useful haha.
I would agree with some of the other comments about Normals being some of the best content the game has to offer and definitely the most fair/even environment; However, the game isnt necessarily supposed to be equal or completely fair at all times, thats part of what makes it amazing though. When you lose to someone more geared than you then you should do your best to try and shrug it off without turning it into always being an excuse for why you lose. But, if you win a fight against someone more geared than you then it feels amazing! It is the case though that if you go into the >25 Gearscore lobbies you will run into people with fully built kits from the marketplace but thats honestly just become part of the game at this point and its definitely preparing for what you can expect to see in Highroller but just players with even better gear and probably even more experience/skill. So unless we ever get a solo self found mode which is possible youll want to start accustoming yourself with the market and the idea of going in with full kits as opposed to just the odd pieces of gear thrown together :)
I started playing 3 days ago, 9k gold now, only played with squire eq ☠️ Funny enough, I have 0 PVP Kills and my Druid is level 50 now. I hope it's okay that I died 3 times fighting someone :(
Understood, play barb, get MS gear, wait for enemy to be an idiot and run into you then kill him. Otherwise just run away. P.S. Always run away from PDR guys they are slow.
They really have no other option and ranged classes will only chip away at you if you chase them. Its annoying but i cant think of a better way to balance the classes.
You cant dodge swing weapons unless you get away for it to not reach, its not like chivalry combat, even if it looks like it, its so easy to redirect attacks , unless they are poking with spear or using overhead downwards attacks its not really possible to dodge unless done perfectly with timing, its way better to trade, block or run out of range
Its definitely not chivarly but you certainly can dodge but you should always be looking to trade at the same time, so at that case it doesnt hurt you and just has the possibility to help you. Firebox is a good example of someone who dodges a ton of attacks in his fights. Moving in and out of range to bait out attacks before getting your hit in is also a valid strat for sure that you mentioned :)
Great video! Just wondering though, what sort of matchups are favored and which ones aren't? I play Fighter with Defense Mastery, Counterattack, Shield Master, and Swift with Second Wind and Victory Strike and it feels like whatever fight I try to take I lose no matter what. Am I just playing a bad build?
Hey, thanks for the compliment! :D Its hard to say for sure since I havent seen you play or the situations youve been in but what I can say is that currently I think fighter is definitely a little on the weaker side and beyond that I do think the build you mentioned is also one of the weaker versions of fighter especially in solos. So, it is sort of a double whammy putting you at a disadvantage before the fights even start :( If you want to keep playing fighter heres what Id recommend! For perks, try going weapon mastery, Swift, Defense Mastery and then either Projectile defense or combo attack for your last slot. For weapons you want to go Rondel Dagger + Buckler and then a Survival bow for ranged. Skills should be Sprint + Second Wind. Here is a great video to showcase and describe the build Im talking about that you can check out, you should find a lot more success if you try out and get good with this build :D ruclips.net/video/a83_Sttsql4/видео.html Ultimately, you can just combine that video with this one and you should be wrecking people in no time!
You'll never become better avoiding to fight better geared/skilled opponents, i believe. You have to do it, or you'll be stuck on that level where you're not improving anymore.
Avoiding better geared people isn't bad. The game most of the time is about stat-checking others, so you would be at a disadvantage if you fought someone that had better gear. However, better geared people are also loot piñatas, so there's definitely reason to fight them I agree about not avoiding better skilled players tho.
mmm yeah I kind of agree on some level but thats also implying you wouldnt learn anything by fighting repoze when he was less geared than you. I dont think the only way to improve is to fight up the ladder. If anything Id definitely argue that the best way to improve is to fight people in the same level of gear as you or below so you actually have an opportunity to really flesh out some of the mechanics without exterior factors such as gear diff just overcomplicating that to say the least. But, like I said I do kind of agree on some level that if your goal is to improve at pvp instead of win more pvp fights then fighting players that are more geared than you shouldnt necessarily be avoided entirely but the premise was more specifically focused on showing people how to win more fights, and idk as I think about it more I almost still feel like even if you were just trying to improve you would definitely be better off just sticking to fights that are more even geared such as in normals or just trying to pick your fights selectively instead of just fighting everyone even if they have twice as many stats as you. But, that could just be a me thing :)
Also yeah just to add I agree about the better skilled players and I dont think I did but if I did mention something in the video about avoiding players that are better than you then I mispoke. Even on a basic level a brand new player literally HAS to fight better players than them if they want to improve haha 😂
Solo druid here who doesnt have access to bows or axes and just dreamfire, how should I be engaging targets? Should I be aggressive and corner targets or kite them with dreamfire. Im struggling to find a good rule of thumb to pvp as druid.
From what Ive tested and seen for druid it seems like building tanky and physical and then when you know someone is nearby you just start in the room next to them or sort of close to them, buff up with your heal over time spells, go rat form and run up right next to them and then go bear form and unleash chaos lol. Hope that helps :D
Fighter won’t beat up anyone if they just stay distance and shot him , even survive bow can’t save fighter … for now fighter is not in a good place he should be , specifically there’s a upgrade fighter calls barb.
Your microphone gain is too low. Do you use an audio interface like voicemeter banana? you can adjust the microphone gain on there till you see it's about too redline

How do fighters beat dot and run warlocks? Even if I hit my shots when they go to cast, they heal the damage and are faster than me so they phantomize my sprint and that’s the game.
You cant chase them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Thats what warlocks want is to be chased by someone slower than them, if you are slower you have to play corners and force them to walk into you if they want to fight then look for an opportunity to force their phantomize without using sprint, if you can do that youve practically won the fight.
@@DiabloGoldSecrets You ever heard of a guy named TheLorr? Ive seen him kill soooo many warlocks by just hitting one crossbow shot and then two franciscas and the warlock dies lol
I’ll take a look, the good ones never stay in the fight if you land a crossbow shot, but shot into francs immediately is a neat idea. I might run double cross bow to surprise them lol. Right now I usually hit the shot when they go to dot, throw a moly in case they phantomize and go get them to stop casting, then I sprint and land 1-2 hits. If they got dots and fire walking I’m already down second wind at that point. Then they run away to reset and I lose or they try to all in and I win.

Really good job Vin
I started playing 3 days ago, 9k gold now, only played with squire eq ☠️
Funny enough, I have 0 PVP Kills and my Druid is level 50 now. I hope it's okay that I died 3 times fighting someone :(
Absolutely nothing wrong with any of that! Just be wary its going to be hard to improve in pvp without taking a hefty amount of losses in fights 😂
I took this advice and have since not lost a solo pvp interaction wish i could say the same for trios but in that case we just get ganked by barbs
LETS GOOO! Glad to hear it :D
Understood, play barb, get MS gear, wait for enemy to be an idiot and run into you then kill him. Otherwise just run away.
P.S. Always run away from PDR guys they are slow.
Not a bad start!
As a Barbarian main, I feel like everyone just runs away from me.
In the cases I don't have throwing axes I feel like I'm at their mercy.
Moving in and out of range to bait out attacks before getting your hit in is also a valid strat for sure that you mentioned :)
bro thanks for making this videos
Lesson of the video - you didn't encounter cleric = you survive.
Kind of spitting with this one at the moment I wont even lie, that cleric shit is waaayyyyy overtuned
W video👍
Are you done with dark and darker
Bard solo match-up plz 🙏😂
Thanks
No problem! Glad I could help :D
Its hard to say for sure since I havent seen you play or the situations youve been in but what I can say is that currently I think fighter is definitely a little on the weaker side and beyond that I do think the build you mentioned is also one of the weaker versions of fighter especially in solos. So, it is sort of a double whammy putting you at a disadvantage before the fights even start :(
If you want to keep playing fighter heres what Id recommend! For perks, try going weapon mastery, Swift, Defense Mastery and then either Projectile defense or combo attack for your last slot. For weapons you want to go Rondel Dagger + Buckler and then a Survival bow for ranged. Skills should be Sprint + Second Wind.
Here is a great video to showcase and describe the build Im talking about that you can check out, you should find a lot more success if you try out and get good with this build :D
ruclips.net/video/a83_Sttsql4/видео.html
Ultimately, you can just combine that video with this one and you should be wrecking people in no time!
However, better geared people are also loot piñatas, so there's definitely reason to fight them
I agree about not avoiding better skilled players tho.
mmm yeah I kind of agree on some level but thats also implying you wouldnt learn anything by fighting repoze when he was less geared than you.
I definitely agree that Barb is better than fighter. I do still think that PDR Fighter with rondel dagger + Buckler and Surv bow combo isnt bad though
Your microphone gain is too low. Do you use an audio interface like voicemeter banana? you can adjust the microphone gain on there till you see it's about too redline
I use G-Hub I got a couple people together tonight and tested a bunch of settings and they came to the conclusion that my mic sound was too low as well so it has since been increased, should be better quality in the next video. I was also taught how to properly not have any pops coming from the mic in the future. :D
Nice hat
rondel dagger buckler fighter.
Can’t help but notice most of this advice/playstyle ONLY applies if you’re faster than the opponent. Otherwise, you are stuck with whatever the opponent wants to do
I can’t seem to win almost any fights as a rogue, is hide really the only way to win?
Need mor bard tips
Yessir, gonna be doing a Bard Matchups guide in the future :D
Man "Bard vs 2 Warlocks" means they fight you together, not one by one.
The chapter title isnt Bard vs 2 Warlocks, its "one bard 2 warlocks" its a reference to something else lmao
And to be fair, I legit got third partied by the second one like 10 seconds after I killed the first
@@VinisKitchen22 No dude, it`s literally like I said => "Bard vs 2 Warlocks" You can check upper right corner of video yourself from 15:49 till 19:00. I noticed "one bard 2 warlocks" at time screen while was looking for timing, It`s much harder to notice than right on a screen right?
That’s my bad, I thought this comment was on my most recent video, not the one from 5 days ago.
But uhh yeah idk exactly why I wrote it the way I did but I did get counterbossed by two warlocks within 10 seconds of each other so I don’t really know how else I could’ve worded it
Can you turn up your input volume? You're so quiet on max volume.
I think it's just a you thing, volume levels are fine..
I get mega mixed feedback in regards to my volume so its super hard to judge, do you have a particular point in the video you think I could look at to check the volume levels?
@@VinisKitchen22 i thought the volume was fine tbh
cool thanks i like bard more=)
How do fighters beat dot and run warlocks? Even if I hit my shots when they go to cast, they heal the damage and are faster than me so they phantomize my sprint and that’s the game.
You cant chase them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Thats what warlocks want is to be chased by someone slower than them, if you are slower you have to play corners and force them to walk into you if they want to fight then look for an opportunity to force their phantomize without using sprint, if you can do that youve practically won the fight.
@@VinisKitchen22 I would like to see one video of a good fighter beating a good lock player in a one on one. So far haven’t seen it
@@DiabloGoldSecrets You ever heard of a guy named TheLorr?
@@VinisKitchen22 you can’t make this up, he went Ranger lol
Why do you use the dagger instead of the rapier?
I like the attack pattern and being able to outplay people in doorways :D
I dont care about first point im just seeking as many fights i can just to learn how to fight i will not loose much playing on 24 gear😂
it's painful to hear songs played intentionally bad
18:42 clown fiesta gameplay LOL
Warlock coulda killed you if he just aimed a little better since you gave him a chance with too many whiffs
so like pokemon, every module has higer chance for cerain class ideally, asuming everyone know thier shit or care enough
Fo yo final challenge, make a vid that aint a banger. Aw hell naw jigsaw you tweakin
Jigsaw wouldnt be happy with me
The amount of kiting in this game kind of makes the pvp dogshit.
I feel that sometimes
Maybe not dogshit though but I get waht you mean for sure
