Cecil was testing him yeah. Remember omniman said in his excuse that it was dark and he was snuck up on and attacked. But here he instantly knew Cecil was in the room despite it having the same factors
The Martian Emperor didn't really know who Viltrumites are. He looked at his advisor, who once again shrugged. He just didn't want to look ignorant in front of an outsider.
Cecil stated the mission is a secret because humanity needs a win after the loss of the Guardians of the Globe and having a superhero involved takes away from the achievement
The Emperor of Mars didn’t actually know about the Viltrumites. It was just his pride talking, he even looked at his advisor and they both have no clue who they are
This episode had a couple of my favorite gags of the season. First, the entire opening sequence with the idiot digging up and unleashing the mummy-demon seemed like something major was going on, but it was just a throwaway gag to show Mark accidently defeating the evil creature by flying too low and re-sealing it in its tomb. Then they showed the guy who got flung into space by The Immortal in Episode 1 still floating around up there. Neither one of those things were of any importance but it shows a level of detail and sense of humor that the writers have, and both scenes make me laugh whenever I see them.
I feel like a subtle theme in this show is "the consequences of superness" things that disappear in the minds of the supers is very real to humanity, who has to suffer through it. Like the trash bag in ep 1, what goes up, comes down somewhere.. well, except for that bomb guy.. but you know what I mean
The emperor of Mars clearly had never heard of viltrumites. That's why him and his advisor shared that confused look. Also, it wasn't a sequid on the shuttle. That was a Marian taking the form of one of the astronauts, because Martians can shape shift. The real astronaut was left on Mars and was infected by the sequids.
@@KurNorock if the martian took that guy's place, it had to be while Mark slept. If that's the case, when they were captured, the Martian was already among them, because why double an earthling when he's not MIA?? @@jimisax1 Or maybe the writing isn't that deep. Maybe it is just a simple plot hole.
