Someone needs to start re-making the Mountain Cycle San Andreas frames - stretch the main spar forward a couple of inches to increase the reach, relax the head angle by a few degrees, and make sure the swing-arm can take a 27.5 rear wheel.
All their staff and the brains behind the designs are scattered to the wind. You'd even see one tinkering with Danny Harts bike. Even if the name came back I'm not sure it would be as good.
I have the Trust Message and Trust Shout fork. Both ride really well at making small/medium sized roots/rocks/bumps disappear. Kind of feels like riding with about 15-20 PSI in your front tire, even though its pumped up to 28. I traded out my enduro bike for a short travel trail bike, so the Shout is hanging up in my garage for future use. .
For me I wish *Iron Horse* would make a comback. Their Sunday DH rig was legendary on the hands of Sam Hill. A few years ago I owned an old '04 Iron Horse Hollow Point with DW Link suspension. It was a great starter bike and it gave lots of miles of fun. Another brand I'd like to see come back is *Corsair* They had high pivots and idler pulleys before it was cool, way back in the late 2000's. I remember looking at their website while I was in junior high school and dreaming of one day owning a Maelstrom or a König. Too bad they went down.
You know what I'd love to see make a comeback? Japanese bikes! Bridgestone, Panasonic, Miyata etc. A lot of these brands are actually still somewhat alive, but they only serve the Japanese market and they don't really make anything interesting. It's been way too long since we've since anything noteworthy come out of Japan.
Those are my Onza bar ends in the picture :-) That bike also had 560mm bars with a 150mm stem and was utterly utterly terrifying to ride on anything more than gravel tracks. It was also my only mountain bike from 1992 until 2018 when I bought a 130mm travel 29er hardtail and realised that off road didn't need to be so scary and actually began to enjoy it.
Yearning for old brands and products of yesterday means overlooking new brands and innovative solutions of today. Let's us be honest: as ever-growing bike market is, it is still finite. So is person's attention
I would second "Grip Shuft" making a come back; I still have my 8 speed shifters that I keep saying I'm going to put on another bike. I also would love to see Klein, Bontrager and Fisher back as well, although not if they are simply trying to be like everyone else. I also would add the USA made Cannondale bikes, they had lots of new introductions with products, some good and some not that great... but lightweight/well made frames and lightweight.
brand names I'd like to see return to the MTB scene with a vengeance would be... Frame builders; ritchey, klein, fat chance, bontrager, diamond back, mongoose, alpinestars, haro, kona, dean, litespeed, merlin, seven, airborne, funk, chuck, manitou, nishiki, orange, parkpre, corratec, amp research component manufacturers; precision billet, gorilla billet, syncros, tnt, ringle, onza, tioga, tnt, ac racing, campagnolo, cook bros racing, kooka, kore, machine tech, real, spinergy, action tech, white bros, dt hugi, azonic, hanebrink, box components, suntour, richard sachs... and those are the ones that I can remember! lol
One thing I would like to see come back is more main stream steal frame full suspension, I like the feel of my steal Torrent S1 so much, and they are not ready available (at least in Canada I don't see any)
Yes! NUKEPROOF! I was lucky enough to pickup a Reactor C about 6 months before they left the States and then went bankrupt. It's a challenge to get parts now but I get a ton of second looks and compliments on it.
Trust should just try again but as a gravel fork. It's like uncharted territory with very few competitors in. If they can't compete with traditional MTB forks they might as well try other niches.
@@Mavrik-60 I remember that but if they could bring back the name that would be something. I wouldn’t buy one because my next purchase will hopefully be a Santa Cruz or another Specialized.
@HARZENDURO said "GRAVEL IS NOT A THREAT TO MTB IT'S AN ADDITION." You mean like a benign tumor? Yes, I agree. Kidding, of course. There's a Brit who runs gravel tours in southern Portugal near where I'm going to move. I plan to book for a day or two soon after I get there. No better way to see my new home than on a bike.
What bike products and brands that have disappeared do you miss?
Nukeproof should come back. The Scout was the best bang for your buck hard tail that you could ever want to buy. Absolute banger of a bike.

I love my Nukeproof ☢️ So sad to see them go away 😢
be nice if they came back in future

@@1brenmaster that's true have to find another brand from now on nukeproof are wicked I'm looking at deviate at the moment
I always felt the Trust fork design was the holy grail for fat bikes....almost got one to see if it could be adapted.
8K for that Cotic is a joke right?

The Crud Claw should come back, especially for winter riding. Great bit of kit!
I spat my coffee out when you were taking about the Cotic! It looks horrendous with the external battery. It’s certainly no Amflow.
Cannondale Headshok
Klein, y es love to see them comeback!
Kooka, Roox, Ac, Point one racing, Sunline, Straightline, were all cool Components brands that have disappeared.
Marzocchi. The Italian one. The OG.
Came here to say the same, so sad I sold my Italian made 888’s

Gary Fisher!!!! Maybe it could be a name for a Trek model

Onza is still around, I just installed a brand new Onza tire on a Santa Cruz just 2 days ago in my shop in the Monterey bay.

Swap the battery and motor out for a belt and a pinion gear box.. absolute banger of an opportunity!
What about Pole?! It was not mentioned. Probably they do not want it back
Martyn and Owen again? Have they taken over GMBN completely? They should.
wud love to see use back they made some stunning finishing kit
Klein would be number one for me. I'd also like the old cool Cannondale back from the 90's not the rather generic brand of a conglomerate
Stratos forks, they where stunning

Just waiting for Structure to release a modernized SCW-1. Mine's a good used bike so far!

I've got a Trust fork, boy it rides nice. You either like it or you hate it too

Wouldn’t that be awesome to see Kline come back!

Gravel is not a fad. They’ll eventually evolve into mountain bikes 🤣

Nukeproof was starting to breakout in America and other markets, this is a pretty sad story...
Trust screwed themselves by not offering their fork in all the normal travel levels. I wish they would comeback though.
RINGLE....
I love riding mtb and also enjoy road. I've no intrest in gravel 🤔
Anyone else?
Sette/Nashbar 😢
