The ending of this episode is amazing. After the worst first day she could have Ainsleyt comes into work and 'Toby Sam and Josh decorated her office with Gilbert and Sullivan and played He's an Englishman.
Not speaking in iambic pentameter!! The funniest line ever in existence. I literally burst out laughing, with a big baudy BAH HAHA, I sounded like someone out of G&S. Hee hee
I love how she quietly puts Tribbey on the defensive. This was a brilliant character and I was saddened to see her written out. I know it had something to do with her getting another role elsewhere, but it was still sad to see her leave.
Tribbey walking away without a witty retort after you call him out is a huge sign of respect.
"Well, not speaking in iambic pentameter might be a step in the right direction..."
I may not know my Gilbert and Sullivan, but I know my golden era of The Simpsons episodes. It's from Pinafore!
love the way that Ainsley talks, she is scared at first, then gets braver. love her a lot!
The writing on this show was so good, and all the actors were so good. I miss this show.

"It wasn't out of duty?" Total respect given to Tribbey and he returns it by not giving a snide comeback. I miss this show.

She's the cutest character. The only actress that can get away with calling sam "see-am".

"I feel a sense of duty."
Ainsley Hayes: Is it so hard to believe in this day and age that someone would roll up their sleeves, set aside partisanship, and say "what can I do?"
This has to be considered one of the greatest scenes of of one of the greatest shows. Truly Shakespearean.
This scene in 2020.....and the WHOLE West Wing Series Remain CLASSIC....off to Binge Watch WEST WING once again.....It's Like Family! Cheers Everyone
"Would be, BY ME, appreciated!" LOL
I actually love Ainsley and Tribbey scenes more than I love Ainsley and Sam scenes they're just so fun together <3
Two characters I wish had been utilized more. I'd love an episode of Tribbey and Ainsley bantering.
notice the slight look of shock on ainsley's face when she hears herself say, i felt a sense of duty.
Three very impressive people in this room, Emily, John, and Aaron.
'Were you recording secretary of the Princeton Gilbert and Sullivan society?'
