It's sad how old and established IP's fall into a mindless copying of other successful modern IP's along with their design flaws whilst contributing nothing unique to the genre.
so true. what's even more sad is they didn't even bother to put faction specific models (characters, vehicles, etc.) and went with these recent trends where everyone looks the same and has that hero shooter/operator influence. what's the use of having factions when there is no clear distinction between the enemy and friendly team. It's not just for immersion but aids in gameplay. instead of having to rely on the UI and those stupid dangling blue or red lights like a rave party up in there.
