    i've been playing Winton for a while now on and off. Find myself playing him more. This really helped me identify a lot of the issues i'm having in self-sustaining myself and keeping in LOS of my support. Thank you.

    I notice not as many tanks play Winston, from my gameplay experience and it feels like most players don't know how to respond.

    I'm a Plat Winston main, first off. Important things about my play outta the way.... It's been taking a long 3 years to understand that when I'm not doing anything as Winston I'm most definitely still "doing something". Still contributing.... even though it sounds strange 😊

    Really great guide! I'm mostly a Mystery Heroes player, as I like the random aspect. As such, I'm trying to learn to better my wrist characters. I really enjoyed your guide and feel like it's the best one I've come across so far!
    A follow up question I have is: How do you tank for the team as Winston when the enemy has a high amount of burst damage (Bastions, Dva, Sojourn, etc.)? Sometimes, I feel like I put the bubble down and immediately it gets shattered and I'm vulnerable.
    Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing your knowledge!

      Ik it’s been a few months but you really just have to be patient and find the times to dive. And honestly sometimes you have to just switch cause it’s just too hard. It’s more manageable if you have someone diving with you but if not you just have to play slower and find that perfect timing. It takes time to get that understanding down but you can though playing him a decent bit

    So I’m not particularly good at Winston, but I certainly have fun tickling the opponent to death. I came here to understand the importance of Winston’s role in the team, as I find myself embracing the “protect the team” mentality as tank, but now I see I should protect the team by killing the enemy squishies.
    Another thing I need to work on is juggling the opponent with Ult. I tend to find myself using Ult as a move to make people back off my supports or dps who are in too deep, as opposed to actually making much value out of it.

    Not related but this is your most recent so i decided to comment on it: When using pharah have an advice for connecting shots on targets instead of hitting them with ground explo dmg from far away

    • @ChrisLudovici
      @ChrisLudovici  Год назад +6

      No problem, yeah, I mean I'd say it always helps trying to keep shooting rockets at one spot, for example, if a enemy keeps strafing alot going side to side then keep shooting the rocket at one spot to basically predict his movement so he runs into your rocket. It's way easier to directly hit shots like that and if your trying to hit a echo or another pharsh in air I'd say do the same thing just flick your rockets more to predict where he's going to fly. Hopefully this helps

    I just have one question for u and i see this in every winston video ever. They all show winston picking off supports in the back or out on the sides. But as a winston main i could never fig this out. But how exactly do u deal with a enemy team that is just always grped up that never separates.

    • @ChrisLudovici
      @ChrisLudovici  Год назад

      At that point you'll have to wait for huge teammates to hopefully get them separated if they are still with the back lines in huge fights then the only other way is to have huge communication with your team. To have your team go in and fight with you on the backline so they'll be distracted with your team as well rather than just you... then you can clean up kills/low health opponents.

      Try sitting somewhere close to hard cover and just zap them at range until you see an opening.
      What is an opening? An opening is when one of them is low or out of position (aloneish) or they have used their cool downs.
      For example, if you poke for a while (zapping at range) it gives your team time to get into position and apply pressure. The enemy team will start to use their cool-downs (abilities / resources) because they get bored or because your team is applying pressure (forcing them to).
      This should eventually lead to an opening / opportunity for you to jump in and capitalise.

    Ty for the guide and explaining how winston works! Can u do a video with counters against him and what we can do against that😅 And wich map is good for him and why? Ty for ur content

    • @ChrisLudovici
      @ChrisLudovici  Год назад +3

      I appreciate it 😁 in the future I'll most likely do some sort of big video of all the hero's counters and which maps are more suitable for them, like a list video if that makes sense but yeah in the future I will be doing something like that 🙂

    Any tips for diamond 1? Cos im ball main but on and off play winston but i often struggle seperating the enemies.. with ball i can boop to seperate but with winston its awkward waiting for the right time

    • @ChrisLudovici
      @ChrisLudovici  Год назад +1

      I'd usually wait for your team to either get a pick or go in with you since it'll be way easier to separate enemies that way. Usually it's not you that's forcing the separation of enemies its mostly just waiting for the right opportunity to show up like waiting for someone to make the mistake of being too far away from their team so you can jump on them without their team near by, alot of people push areas by them selves and you can definitely take advantage of that. If they aren't, then you're gonna have to rely on your team to help you a little bit, focusing them and forcing that separation... the more pressure you put onto the supports or dps the more everyone on their team is gonna help them so just be careful when to jump on them ect, make sure your supports have a good line of sight to you for heals.
      Hopefully, that helps a little bit in what you're questioning, haha

    I just started playing OW. Im trying out Winston. Im pretty decent got a better win % with him than any other character ive played with.
    Im a Bronze 5 after 3 weeks of playing. Ive got a friend thats a former OW1 pro player from London Spitfire. When he plays Lucio i cant beat him 1v1 with winston bc lucio can heal himself and hes really fast. How can you take on lucio??
    And ive had player's come out and use Mauga and Bastion to hit and destroy the bubble in just a few secs. Maybe change characters at that point?

    • @ThebatBrucewayne

      Even if he heals himself you just need to understand your bubble positioning and how to approach the enemy
