I hope the Winton community stays strong. Decision making is most important. Watch the replays of some of your losses and figure out why you died. Practice primal mechanics in custom games. One tricking is hard, although I got to masters 3 with 80% of my time on Winton he does have hard counters. Dva, hog, ram and reaper. And soft counters like bastion, torb and Cass. This is where I think it's worth to pick up a backup hero. I play sigma and sometimes rein. I know you want to play monke but the higher you go, the less mistakes you can make. If dva or reaper are constantly following you, it's hard to get value. Good luck monkes, may the sr be ever in your favour.

great guide, with your old guide i climbed from plat to almost masters after a week or 2, with the current one im sure i could get it putting enough hours in, the previous meta with hog being the main tank champ was so boring for winton mains, yeah he can be somewhat avoided but him just nullyfying your ult with his or even hitting a single hook can be so frustrating, i hope my work doesn't absolutely fuck me so i have more time to try some of your tips, most of which i was familiar with but the charging into jump pack is something i kinda suck a just cause of ow1 muscle memory

Good guide relearning an character from OW1 into OW2 is a pretty cool thing. I'm glad they gave him more means for dealing damage even if it is animation cancels.
This is an excellent guide. I'm going to start charging my longshots, targeting my jumps for edges and stop placing my shield on the kart.

Learning to play Winston is like sandpaper to my brain. I watched the video in hopes to get past it but man I just cant help but giveup. The only tank I cant learn. Dva is hard for me too but at least i feel like I can get kills with her without having to do everything perfect.

It needs a rework. It isn't worth learning all this for what you get in the end. There are tanks with a lot less cost of entry with higher pay out.
You should add a intro, cause sometimes the video dosen't play immediatly and only the audio starts for a couple seconds. Also it allows for better video structure.
His intro is usually “no intro, let’s get straight in”
intros kill audience retention and are pointless. video structure is just the guide itself

3:38 This is misinformation. I tested it thoroughly, there is no point in doing the melee unless the melee would kill the enemy. Otherwise the damage is completely identical in DPS to just holding left click. It's unfortunate I see this myth propogated so often. You should also inform whoever your mentor is that it's pointless for anything other than saving a tiny bit of ammo.
