    One of the smartest things I’ve ever heard Shaq say was in response to someone asking him if he drinks. He said, “not in public, bc I gotta protect my mama’s empire.” I thought that was so wise. Especially these days.

    • @fastesteddiealive
      @fastesteddiealive 9 месяцев назад

      And even what u respect him so much for saying is just fake and a lie. He didn’t say no so he does but he just portrays a non drinker in public for money. That’s pathetic. See me I don’t drink and quit over 20 years ago on my 21 bday because it’s horrible and alcohol is America’s ruin so I could just say no n not be bullish!tying the world w a fake outward appearance while getting drunk at home. That is the least respectful thing he could say. Just say yeah I drink but responsibly and not in public. That’s waaay more respectable than the bs answer he gave. You are easy to impress w deceit n lies. That’s like an lifelong alcoholic parent telling their kids not to drink. Actions speak louder than words n shaq has sold his soul at every opportunity he ever had. He flies private while telling you to get an electric car. That’s who shaq is.

    • @fastesteddiealive
      @fastesteddiealive 9 месяцев назад

      Well his list of smart things he has said is very short so I can see how his lame answer posts so high on the list. But it basically just makes him a liar and a fraud. Shaq is the biggest sell out in nba history possibly the worlds history next to Biden n fauci

    As a woman who has been with my husband for 10 years, showing emotion is not a bad thing in a man. It does not mean that I need him to cry with me every day... but he is attentive, empathetic, he has a huge heart, he is genuine and kind and he knows how to make me feel better when I'm down. I think that is what is meant by "emotional". Some people think it means "cry baby" but that's not it.
    I also do not understand when Shaq was saying that if you are emotional in front of a woman she will throw it in your face later... if you have the right woman that won't happen.
    A true partner understands you and wants to make you better and won't put you down.
    My husband and I bot cried when we had deep family health issues and I will never ever throw that in his face. You need to be a horrible person and horrible partner to do that.

    • @caseycat
      @caseycat 9 месяцев назад +22

      Agreed. It honestly shocks me how many adult women consider emotion or crying in men to be a huge turn off or an "ick". My husband told me he had former partners that felt this way, and I had no idea. To feel emotion is to be human. Crying is natural.

    • @phljawn

      It is called emotional immaturity, both women and men do it, words always hurt and someone wants to win the fight. Once it's not about winning, no one does it cause they actually care about keeping the relationship.

      My wife and I have been together for 19 years. She says the biggest attraction for her was my “emotional intelligence”. I’m a lot like Jason, I can’t hide my emotions. I don’t let them rule my behavior but when I feel something, I deal with it immediately (and appropriately). We need to stop pushing the narrative that being a man means burying how you feel.

  • @kylesweeney3059
    @kylesweeney3059 9 месяцев назад +210

    I think you see Shaq learning from Kelce here. It’s why Jason’s still married. You can see he doesn’t hide from his wife. He may get a little over emotional, but women love emotions.
    Shaq seems more joking and light hearted around women. So does Kelce, but you’ve gotta be vulnerable when it’s needed.
    Women don’t want robots or big crying babies. Express emotion when needed and be a leader.
    You might have kids one day and having a man who can lead/be goofy/express how they feel is what Kelce says. He says him and his brother do what they want. They’re authentic, the highest respected trait.

I’m not alone in this fact. Is she mega famous, sure, but half of the appeal is her personality which resonates with A LOT of people, but it’s not the music that’s made her as famous as she is. I love Shaq's message here about fathers spanking their kids and how THAT alone doesn't make someone a good parent/ father. Communicating with your child is what matters at the end of the day.
    And for people of color, specifically the Black and Hispanic communities, that is something that we LACK. Knowing how to communicate!!!
    Also, I love how honest Jason is in ANY interview or podcast.
    Unlike his brother, who tends to be more politically correct/PR trained with his answers, Jason is REAL AF.
    Respect!!!

    I think what people are trying to relay when they encourage me to communicate and express their emotions is this: When men do not **constructively open up their emotions and thoughts, then they do so through violence, abuse to those around them (especially women), and other self-destructive ways.
    But if men can talk and open up, they would not resort to violence, abuse and self-destruction.

    Jason could be a politician the way he pivoted the discussion from Shaq’s “never trust a woman” comment to be about generally showing emotions, and still managed to not come down on one side or the other, while leaving no one feeling hurt. And then talked them through the end of the segment, not allowing the two guests to completely alienate female viewers, which digging into that comment would have done. He’s an absolute pro. Agree with someone else’s comment calling him an empath. That was some spicy footwork on his part.

    I find it sad to hear that as a grown man in this world with such a big heart you can't find a true partner to share your burdens with . But as a single 58 year old loving female I am still looking for that myself. From my viewpoint it is hard to find a stand up kind of man who is loving and protective of the commitments he has made. Maybe one day the Lord will bless us both and fulfill our lives completely. Thank you for all the good you do and for feeling you have a responsibility to raise others up.

    Toxic masculinity isn't a man crying. It's raising a boy who isn't allowed to cry, and in doing so you raise a man who has no empathy for others because he's not allowed to feel that (as that's one of those things crying can give us. Allowing ourselves to cry for others, even if we don't know them grows our empathy. Many of our world problems would be resolved if we had more empathy for others.

    red flag in relationship if the guy has so many group of friends that influenced his life, smoking, clubbing. if you're looking for a partner, his priorities have to change. if he's not willing, then this guy is not ready to settle down. speaking for myself, a mother of three kids, a wife of a loving husband who's happiness is having good relationship with his kids and wife. and most importantly he has a relationship with God.
