- In a conversation with Bar & Bench, Justice Chelameswar speaks on his early days, his life as a Judge, the role of Collegium and a host of other issues.
Jasti Chelameswar was a judge of the Supreme Court of India from Andhra Pradesh.
He was elevated as Additional Judge of High Court of Andhra Pradesh on June 23, 1997 and as Judge on May 17, 1999. He was Elevated as Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court on May 03, 2007. Transferred to Kerala High Court and assumed charge as Chief Justice of Kerala on March 17, 2010.
He was appointed as the Judge, Supreme Court of India on October 10, 2011, the same day as current CJI Dipak Misra.
Chelameswar retired on June 22, 2018.
