- Speaking about this previous judgement on appointment of judges, former Supreme Court judge Jasti Chelameswar said, "No, I don't think I did anything wrong in writing that judgement. It was a bill passed by the then-Parliament unanimously. In constitutional law, I find it difficult to believe that an elected government will have no say in the matter of appointment of judges of this country."
Speaking about the press conference held by 4 former judges of the Supreme Court, Justice Kurian Joseph said, "to me, it was a story of great expectations but it turned out to be a story of lost expectations."
When asked about his take on the Collegium system for appointment of judges, Jasti Chelameswar said he does not agree with it. "The entire process is very opaque. For several decisions, nobody understands why they are taken.
When asked about the current situation of the Supreme Court, former judge Jasti Chelameswar said, "I don't know. I do not have a TV at my home and I have not bought newspapers either. I may not be the right person to answer that."

Mr Jasti Chelameshwar, like LORD BUDHA (I very well know that this fellow is nowhere near Lord Budha 🙏) got ENLIGHTENMENT!!!! He was one of the Senior Judges to Call PRESS CONFERENCE! If what he said now - Don't Buy Newspaper/Don't Buy TV - whether what he wanted to convey to the people was relevant/understood is another matter- what was the purpose of the Press Conference served?
Recently, our President requested CJI SC to decide cases timely and do justice. Since Justice delayed is Justice denied , in India all,cases witness denied of justice. I wonder why judiciary is required if justice is to be denied . There is no higher authority than President who can now appeal to CJI a to decide cases on time and donot give adjournment
These judges do not decide cases timely and as of now 60 million cases are pending. The judges are appointing the judges. So the accountability for ineffectiveness squarely lies on the judges. After computerization, all private and government institutions reduced staff drastically thereby quality, speed and effectiveness improved. In courts, digitalization is discouraged . Granting dates is the main work in courts How ever, many rich advocates are bettering dates, bails and judgements in lightening speed. Poor litigants are waiting for decades without justice
Indian judiciary is the sign of denial of justice ( justice delayed ) so democracy, constitution have failed. It is very interesting to watch judges speaking about democracy, constitution but due to judicial ineffectiveness, our democracy and constitution lost credibility in terms of delay / denial of justice
These Judges are the Best... They should have function for another 15 yrs for survival of common cause and constitution... Jai Hind❤
Need time based parameters for each judicial remedy and case resolution including appeals ..this should be adhered to without exception ..
Hon Justice Chelameswar is the best ! Honest, Knowledgeable , fair , justice minded - wished he would have come as governor or similar influencer positions!

He was one of the judges who spoke against then CJI in public and media violating all protocal and discipline!?! Who wants to listen to him now!? If he does not want tv or other, it is his business!? What is his problem? How much pension he is getting or has he given up pension? or has he distributed his pension among other poor people? Whom he wants to impress!? 😮
