Oh Ana, this video made me emotional. I deeply understand how you feel. This is very scary and life altering experience. Because it changes you no matter of the outcome. Especially you are so young. I hope you are recovering well and getting your strength back . I also had retinal detachment 2 years ago. It humbled me so much and made me rethink my whole view on life and what truly matters.
You know I had retinal detachment three weeks ago and I had gone through by retinal reatachment surgery and you know it was my only eye through which I was able to see because my other eye was not even in a position through which I can see clear, so it was really psychologically and emotionally draining because I was only able to see through my one eye and three weeks before it went almost blind. my prayers to all of the patient who have diseases of any kind no matter they are eyes or brain or lungs or anything I really wish you a good health!
I hope you had a good recovery in the other eye 😭 i can certainly imagine that ordeal as even my vision is extremely poor in one eye that had retinal detachment.
I had retinal detachment also. It has been 9 days post surgery and continue with recovery. I have been off work and I hope I can come back to work in a week. It has been a tough and challenge recovery. I had faith in the doctors and their expertise and most importantly God is always with us. I offered my suffering to God and be dependent on God.

Thank you so much Ana for sharing. I pray that God continues to bless you and strengthen your faith beyond belief. This video gave me hope and a sense of peace. Yesterday, On Thanksgiving Day, I lost about 30% of my vision and found out today that I have to get an emergency scleral buckle in a few hours. I went through the rollercoaster of emotions but I know God is opening my spiritual eyes and increasing my faith through this challenge. Thank you for sharing and I pray that God blesses you. 💕

Same thing happened to me last October, I had the same emergency surgery because I had retina detachment on both eyes. I had lost 80% of the vision on my left eye and 20% on the right. I was scared and still am because I had just graduated high school, I’m only 19. I was supposed to go to Italy to play soccer but now I’ve been told it’s better not to play just to avoid another detachment. I currently have a scleral buckle in my left eye.

My brother who is 15 years old now lost his vision in both eyes last three years due to coats disease/retinal detachment. As his eldest sister, it feels sad that he is not able to see anymore at this young age when he is supposed to explore new things. Miracles is the only thing that can change his condition. He still remains faithful and believe that one day God will restore his eyesight. All I wish is after many years there could be a solution to total blindness. :(

Hi Ana, thank you for sharing your story about your retina detachment surgery. You are strong and funny. Hi, My name is William, I also had eye surgery on 10/16/19. At the top of my left eye. I’m in recovery, resting my eyes. Won’t be back to work for 2 weeks. Really, is not fun and boring. Thanks for your encouragement. Will be praying for you. And yes, His plan is always the best! Jesus loves you, sister, Blessings.
Ana, most surgeries require the person to be face down or on a side of their face for minimum a week. It doesn’t seem like you had to do that. Do you know why? I had RD surgery 3 days ago and I’m still face down or laying in my side all day and night. What did they fill your eye with?
Not everyone gets oil or gas placed so there are no positioning rules if you just have a buckle. (I got a scleral buckle about 3 weeks ago and have no positioning requirements.)
So I have a question for anyone really that has had retinal detachment surgery. What do you do to keep yourself entertained during recovery since you must keep your head down
Hi Ana. Thank you for sharing your experience. So emotional. I am sooo scared now, so I have a high myopia (-9 and -3 astigmatism in the left eye and -6 and -1 astigmatism in the right eye) from the beginning of May I experienced floaters in both eyes and flashes in the left eye, I was really scared that I went to the optometrist and she checked my eyes and she said that it’s no tears or detachment, then I got a 2nd opinion with the eye doctor in a clinic and again he said that it’s no concerns. What where your symptoms? How did you feel before the detachment!? Any pain, sharp pain, pressure before the detachment occurred? I would really appreciate your response xxxx
Go to an ophthalmologist. I went SEVERAL times to the ER, eye doctors, and they all (at least 5) said there was nothing wrong when I clearly could see something was wrong. It finally took months later, for half my vision going blind to go to emergency surgery. i am still in recovery and my vision was restored, but it would not have happened like this if I had gone to the correct specialist. Good luck!!! PS~ It started with the floaters and the flashes!!! Go to an ophthalmologist right away. They have special equipment that regular eye doctors don't...
Can any doctor some doctor help me with a pro bono retinal detachment,I don't have the 5k US dollars they want at the hospital.I don't have anybody else to help.I feel hopeless,my other eye is starting to detach also, somebody anybody help me.I have 3 kids and divorced.I'm in Africa Zimbabwe

I have barrage laser on my left eye surrounding a lattice area w multiple holes w trace amounts of subretinal fluid. I pray I don’t get a detached retina. Bless you that you got thru it. I pray for your full recovery. Thank you for sharing. 👍🏽❤️🌼🙏🏽
I had the same and now have a shimmering spot that is sometimes like a dark smudge in my peripheral.
How are you now?? Are you okay? And is there any side effects that you had post barrage laser procedure?
@@shaileshjayaprakash2080 I had no side effects from the laser. I am going to get a second barrage laser in a different area in my eye and I hope for no side effects with that also. The dr that performed the 1st barrage laser saw the same area but he didn't say anything about needing laser there but this dr advises that I get laser in that area. Strange that 2 different drs have a different advisement. I hope you are doing fine.
@@bdj1126 I hope the smudge is not too annoying. They say after awhile your eye adapts and even tho it's still there you won't mind it too much after awhile. Good vibes to you.
I had surgery 9 days but I'm 48 so my perspective is way different. Either I wld be able to see again or enjoy life with one eye. As you said there are worse things than this. But i understand. If be freaking out if I was young. God bless.
Your eye is more important than college trust me ❤
God bless u dear...ull be back to normal...be cool

Hi Ana, thank you for sharing your story about your retina detachment surgery. You are strong and funny.
Hi, My name is William, I also had eye surgery on 10/16/19. At the top of my left eye.
I’m in recovery, resting my eyes. Won’t be back to work for 2 weeks. Really, is not fun and boring. Thanks for your encouragement. Will be praying for you. And yes, His plan is always the best!
Jesus loves you, sister, Blessings.
Will I am Higuchi Hi William! I’m so happy my video encouraged you! I will be praying for you as well ❤️
Ana, most surgeries require the person to be face down or on a side of their face for minimum a week. It doesn’t seem like you had to do that. Do you know why? I had RD surgery 3 days ago and I’m still face down or laying in my side all day and night. What did they fill your eye with?
Same here I was wondering
@@omari_styles Only some surgery requires you to have your head in a certain position. This is to allow the gas bubble to press on the retina.
Not everyone gets oil or gas placed so there are no positioning rules if you just have a buckle. (I got a scleral buckle about 3 weeks ago and have no positioning requirements.)
How is your vision now?
retinal transplant ?
Available any where!
How a retinal detachment can happen?
So I have a question for anyone really that has had retinal detachment surgery. What do you do to keep yourself entertained during recovery since you must keep your head down
Locked Firing there is many surgeries to treat detached retina and not all will have that gas bubble that will require keeping your head down :)

Hows your vision?
How long did it take for the vision too come back? I just had mine done and I'm 4 days post op and it's like blury from it
my vision did get a little better but is still not perfect even 4 months after surgery.. it takes a while for some people..
i hope you recover well soon! ❤️
Love you thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
