You really do compose some cracking music brian, the problem is when you put music out like you do, I simply just want to learn what you play, which you say isn't learning .but I only play guitar for own enjoyment, and aren't interested in learning your average pop songs, so it works for me ,i have been a premium member for about 5 years so you do naturally pick learning other things up, thank you for your lessons
I just listen and watch Brian play and wish I could play like that. The reality is that I know I won’t ever be able to. I know Brian has been playing a long time and has loads of talent and I can’t compare myself to him.. I’ve been at this guitar thing for going on a year and lately it seems I’m regressing instead of getting better. I’ve become a bit discouraged and haven’t played in a few days hoping maybe a short break will help. I love playing the guitar and wish I was making more progress.
What I immediately loved was it gave me a reason to dust off the natural minor scale and start with getting fluid with that. Then adding in Dorian and the flat 5 notes of the blues scale and playing around with that. That alone is a great exercise. Now I can get into learning the melody
I'd love to see a lesson on the gypsy jazz idea you mention at the end of this lesson! This was hard for me, I'm still working on the early second half but I really like it, thank you!
The real value is what you get from watching anyone of your videos! Its incredible how you breakdown and simplify everything that makes it so approachable and accessible especially from a mental perspective for any type of player! Easily the best guitar channel on youtube and I first found your channel due to an ad on Instagram :)
I Totally agree with you. Brian is Excellent and I'm loving the acoustic videos his been doing. I think that Brian could have a separate utube channel just for acoustic guitar, his passion and enthusiasm for teaching and sharing his knowledge is very Refreshing and a breath of fresh air, Cheers from Australia
I don't know about you guys but I don't think when I play guitar. I believe I did about 40 years ago. I don't know the proper terminology of all musical terms/ read music. As long as my ears are still connected to my head I'm good.Yhis is cool little ditty. Thanks I learned something.!
Loving your acoustic videos! I hope you please keep making Acoustically...Great lesson this one too getting my brain to think about the chord I'm playing and self accompany lead guitar. Thankyou very much from Australia
Great little tune. Great lesson. Lots to learn here. A few hurdles in front of me right now but planning to sign up soon. Only problem - where to start. I'm thinking anywhere. Then just keep going.
Something familiar but elusive about this melody. Sparks my imagination! Now I can figure out what I'm hearing and how to play it. Because it's something very similar to this. Thanks for your time and effort.
Funny how it initially seems far too complicated and then you break it down to bite size pieces that are quite manageable--and sound Great. You are amazing!
This is a perfect assessment of these lessons. They start out by looking big and tough, but then as you go through it using all of the tools, eventually it shrinks! Sometimes I can get it without the slow version, but for some spots I need it! Just whatever it takes.
I’d recommend mastering the CAGED system, this will hands down take years off your learning process and you will begin being able to learn these lessons quicker and easier because of mastering that background knowledge
I was initially a little confused by the Dorian diagram as it looks the same as the Mixolydian mode based off the A shape from caged, which you’ve taught us in other lessons. But then it clicked! A Dorian and D Mixolydian contain the same notes… at least I think so 🤔
That Martin sounds sweet bro !!did you ever play a lowden acoustic they are made up the road from me in Northern Ireland they are sweet as well they are sort of like an Irish Martin 😂if you know wat I mean because they are expensive but super sustain and playable!!! how many guitars do u have 😂😂I’m at 12 atm 🎸🎸take care love the lesson Brian Ireland 🇮🇪 I’m glad I’m a member for the jam track
Great lesson! Since it is in the key of G, would it work to just play E-minor natural scale, which would be A-Dorian? Just add that blues note and you can think of it as one scale instead of 3?
I really enjoy your channel. If I could make only one suggestion..say the note that you’re referring to instead of passing through it just saying ie 4 th string Second fret or blue note etc. Regards Mate
Brian, you are on fire with these recent lessons. I always get so much from your lessons but these recent ones are clicking straight away.
Totally agree, always great but sometimes even greater. Such a gift to have a teacher like Brian.

Same here, I have no interest in learning any “known” pop songs either but love to play Brian’s lessons! Why is that??🤔
That's my problem too! I end up just learning and memorizing Brian's song instead of using the lesson information to create my own.

It’s almost “House of The Rising Sun.”
Reminds me of doc watson
Brian your videos are so inspiring, I would like to ask if you would do a tour of your guitars ?
RUclips doesn’t have enough bandwidth
This noodle makes me want to smile.
Sweet !

Master!! Truly master! I will be able to catch up with your lessons in the next life....😢

@@ShinyFlakesShinyFlakes Thanks for the advice, really appreciated.
Sounds great! Reminds me of some Knopfler stuff.
Very nice 👍🏽
You always seem to impress.

Sounds like a background track for a movie like Bonnie n Clyde .?

'Bluegrassy' woulda been about 2/3rds accurate. Good information!
Hey Brian, will you ever offer a LIFETIME Premium Membership, like a one time fee to have access….FOR LIFE?
I don’t think so

Super ❤️🙏🎶🎼🎵🎸✌️👌🇮🇱🍀
