You are doing a good job with all your tasks. A pair of safety glasses is a must. The shards coming out of a drill are are sharp and can great damage to your eyes. You need your eyes for life and yours are beautiful so take care of them please!!! Gary, British Columbia, Canada.
You truly are the real deal, Taylor. During those especially difficult days, just remind yourself of the courage and ingenuity you possess. You've already accomplished so much on your journey of realizing this life for yourself, and the best is yet to come. 🙌
Wow y’all put in some work. Everything looks amazing. Shout to Ryan & KiKi for putting in some work as well. PS: Ryan, what a great farewell message. Your family should be proud of the man you are sir. Safe travels Billy D
What a pleasure it was to help out Taylor on her boat. She truly is a Legend. I wish I had half as much courage and spirit as her when I was her age. Thanks to everyone for supporting her. She is an inspiration to us all. I can't wait until she asks me to help again in the future.
I don't know about a superstar. I just love helping people out that inspire me and others. She honestly doesn't need the help as she is super capable, but it is so nice to give a helping hand.
@@adventureswithryan5474 The quality of the people you attract says it all, Taylor and Delos family. I am sure they just like being around such a great person plus you are a wealth of information n a butt load of help to top it off. Appreciate all the inspiration you'all bring us🤗
Taylor, you are one hell of a fine woman. You are strong, gutsy, confident and can do. You are a magnificent example of a free woman and what she can do and achieve. You are one fine sailor. All women of the world can benefit from your example of what you have done, are doing and will continue to do. Be safe, healthy, happy, and enjoy your freedom and sailing. God be with you.
When mounting the radar at the masthead, four short lengths of the stainless cut off for the arch could have been used as spacers. As for eye protection; please, please Taylor - you've only one set of eyes; look after them! Another note, when working at height, ensure all tools have lanyards secured to you - the damage that a cordless drill could do to either the roof (or someone below) when dropped from 50' doesn't bear thinking about!
Thanks for the love E.B. and thanks for supporting all the channels that I love! Make sure to come to the Annapolis Boat Show this year and say hi to all these guys.
When using a reciprocating saw, the plate at the base of the blade should be pushed tight against the part being cut. That eliminates the bounce and the cut goes through quicker. Put some tape on the plate if you're worried about scratching.
I was also thinking that with all of the cutting of the stainless, the residual from all of those cuts will rust and stain your topsides like you won't believe. I would drape those areas completely before cutting, but certainly do you best to completely clean those areas thoroughly. Any of the stainless that has made its way to the deck that has not been removed will make itself obvious sooner than you think as well. Good luck.
Life's a journey and a life long learning experience, attitude and work ethic are 90% of it. We all learn from one another, teach one another, and help one another. Absolutely love your adventurous side, and attitude! Huge thanks to Ryan once again!!!! Awesome dude!
Oh I really liked this episode, Taylor. I am happy to see you have helping hands along side of you. Male or Female it is always nice to have friends help us with our projects. Builds friendships, bonds, helps us learn more and its much more fun and economical. You are a very inspiring human!
Thanks for the love. All the channels know to call me if they need free labor. It truly is fun helping out great people doing great things (Taylor checks both of those boxes).
Wow, thanks for showing up something that you can handle by your own self. What you did is almost only man can do, but in some circumstances you can't do it all alone. Now I think you already know how to manage everything inside your boat even you were alone. I just wanna say, good luck on your journey and keep safe!
Nice upgrades. You’re learning valuable lessons and gaining lots of measurable experience. Proud of how you’ve grown. You’re a fan favorite. Blessings 🙂
There are safety glasses looking almost like sunglasses. They are still not elegant, but can save you a lot of inconvenient trouble. Loved the video, looking forward to seeing more.
Hey T it's great to see ya back on the boat. Whether ridding a bike, in a van or on a boat you are an amazing young lady. Let your adventures continue.
I am so impressed watching you do all these jobs pretty much by yourself. As Ryan said, very inspiring for all the women out there ❤️ Candy wait for the next video 🙃
Hi Taylor - I enjoyed this episode, and agree with your comments on how a tiny movement on deck feels pretty dramatic when you’re at the top of the mast. But if I can give one piece of advice - for the love of gawd, please wear eye protection when you’re cutting and drilling, especially metal! That scene where you were drilling at the top of the mast made me cringe - I kept waiting for you to scream and slap your hand over your eye. Best of luck, and keep up the great work. Cheers, Lance in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. S/V Great Escape - Newport 30
Taylor, Malcolm is 100% correct! It is surprising how far metal shavings can be thrown from power tools, especially if they bind up/bite/snag while you're cutting. ALSO, you will get a LOT less "skull-rattling" when using a Recip Saw if you keep the blade guard (or "foot") TIGHT against the piece being cut! You will break/bend fewer blades keeping the foot tight against the workpiece...........and broken blades are another "eye injury hazard". Other than that, I salute you and Ryan for tackling the tricky job of installing that multi-leg arch!
@@panchitox8875 It was very tricky to figure out the placement. The 3 of us must have dry fit it a dozen times before we got it right. Thanks for the love.
Thanks for the love Bill. I was on Delos this week in Mexico and Brian calls me that still to this day! Thanks for supporting Taylor, she is the real superstar!
Super Ryan!!!!! Love that guy and you. Sure you have heard enough of it but I've had a metal shaving removed from my eye, then they had to "Grind" the rust spot out. Very uncomfortable n I was wearing sft glasses. Currently binge watching to catch up. Awesome vids!!👍👍👍
I love the close up views of watching you working up on top of the mast! I'm glad you took a camera up with you, neat to see what you are doing. I'm glad your not afraid of heights because I sure am! I've owned 3 sailboats over the years and I never went up the mast. LOL
A few months ago, Nascar superstar Hailie Deegan had mentioned Taylor in one of her podcast, Hailie stated that she found Taylor to be a big inspiration in her life because she wanted to get back into sailing. Apparently Hailie did a lot of sailing when she lived in California, she mentioned that she owned a Laser 14 and a Hobie Cat 16, but she has since moved to North Carolina to be closer to the Nascar racing hub and had to leave these two boats behind, but she just recently purchased a West Wright Potter 19 that she keeps at her parents house on Lake Norman near Mooresville, N.C. Even though both of these beautiful young women come from totally different backgrounds, they share a common thread, they are both fantastic role models, they both have broken barriers in what use to be a male dominated world......
Taylor: So what is the near future plan? Hang out in the Florida Keys? Escape hurricane season sailing along the eastern Canadian islands? Round the world?
Proper safety glasses should be worn when using power tools but are extremely important when drilling metal. Washers or spacers that fit over the bolts would be a better choice for adjusting the radar clearance than wedges . Lock washers would be a nice touch. You'll probably be okay, but it's not the kind of job one wants to revisit once completed.
Great episode Taylor! thank you for showing us the nuts and bolts behind the scenes, to get your boat ready for sailing, very valuable information, Looking forward to your adventures at sea. Your Fan from Toronto, Canada.

first thing i thought too... but its fun to watch
Safety glasses when using a reciprocating saw, duh! When you let the base float off the piece being cut, the blade can snap in an instant.
@@mikefinn She could use some safety glaases when drilling the holes for the anemo meter mount. She was drilling upwind.
