Thanks, I'm taking this a step further, trying this in SmartThings to automate a smartplug when my solar inverter (no storage) is producing energy, usage drops to 'zero' on the smartmeter, automation turns on smartplug to charge a powerstation or batteries.
Can confirm what Adrian Anasta has said. Neither uploading a phot or uploading a pdf work. Both give errors, and after a number of attempts you are blocked from making further attempts till later, but doesn't say how long later is. Gave up trying
Recent updates to the app must have changed the set-up process. The Plus (+) on the Main screen no longer has the option to add devices, you need to choose devices and then hit the plus on that. Also when adding the smart meter, there is no "Select by Brand" option is not available, but you can search for Chamerleon. At the stage of uploading a copy of your bill the Upload Photos and Upload PDF no longer work
I get all way through adding and setting up account to all done close page. But in life section chameleon doesn't not appear. Has something gone wrong or should I wait fir few days?
Great video - Do you need a Samsung smart things hub to use this or can you just create an account without any physical hardware. Haven't invested yet in any hardware but would like to get the smart meter functionality (another EON user annoyed that their smart meter service is rubbish (actually currently taking them to task with the ombudsman for miss selling functionality when I switched to EON))
It only loads the data from the day you connected the app, then it updates just after midnight, so does not give you live data but atleast we get some data .
Hi - Just added my Elec Smart Meter (Supplier EonNext) - waiting for data to be provided for this. Do I need to add my Gas Meter (again supplier is EonNext) or will this automatically be added even though they are separate bills.
I’m trying to do this but every time I follow the steps. I get as far as the room location. Go to next and it then comes back with “couldn’t add device” a network or server error occurred. Try again later. Done so many time in like 10 mins to hours and still the same. I’ve tried next to hub and meter. Nothing. Even come off the Wi-Fi and still don’t make it work. Has anyone else had this issue and got past it?
Mine is even older and it doesn't work with this. All suppliers meant to transfer SMETS1 meters to work as SMETS2 last year but that was extended for another year.
The stupid app has to glitch out once and it stops working (noticed that the gas was now been logged today so corrected the unit rate for gas witch then wiped out the electric history and broke the smart meter readings and now I have to delete the smart meter again and readd it just so it cam get electricity readings again very annoying
Does this work with any Smart Meter or does it have to be a Chameleon banded meter? For the record, I am also based in the UK if this changes anything

I dont think you need the hub to just connect to a smart meter. Yes If I new eon did not give me the data like British gas I would have not switched.

Yes, you will need a smartmeter, it's the smart meter company not energy supplier that you connect to for the energy readings.

Currently smartthing only shows the electric meter, in December they said Gas was coming but still no update on when it will? On Eon.Next as well

This only works if you have a SMETS2 smart meter. Mine is a 2018 SMETS1 and Chameleon can’t find my smart meter!
