Hey Mark - Alpinestars off road boots will keep you dry in light to moderate rain. Drystar liners are meant to keep you feet dry in heavy rain, hitting larger puddles or water crossings.
does anyone have any real life experience with wearing these? i'm coming from bicycles (including trials) and would like a boot that doesn't feel too stifling or insensitive without compromising much on protection as i'm a new rider and bound to drop the bike on myself or smash my leg off something sooner rather than later. i want to be able to clearly feel the pegs, shifter and brake if possible - the alternative i'm looking at is the alpine 7 boots, which seem great but look very slick on the soles, i find it hard to imagine wrestling my motorbike around a trail without some grip on the boots. it's the grip that drew me to the tech-t. i'll be riding 40/60 road/trails around spain, if that helps! any thoughts? thanks a lot!
What type of trails? Are we talking expert level single track or just some smooth fire roads? If you expect to fall (pushing your skill limits) you should NOT go with the Tech-T's. We'd recommend either Tech-3 or Tech-7 Enduro versions OR The Toucan.
I am looking at these boots for light sport touring on my VFR800FI. Any thoughts?
These boots would be a great choice!
I understand that there is no Drystar lining, but would they keep any water out if you were to get caught out in the rain?
Thanks

I use them for trials and trails.
Very good for walking and checking features.
Comfortable but not stiff.
