    Sidi Crossfire 2 TA
    www.revzilla.c...
    Sidi Crossfire TA 2 Boots
The newest evolution of SIDI's premium off-road boot is the Crossfire 2 featuring more adjustability to accommodate wider calves and redesigned buckles that are easier to operate with a gloved hand.
    Dual Flex System:
The hinged, dual position, stitch-free upper is constructed from injection-molded plastic. With the exclusive Dual Flex system and the four floating independent straps the Crossfire can provide each rider with a personal fit no matter of body shape or use with knee braces or not.
    Adjustable Calf System:
Sidi's exclusive, patented, adjustable calf system allows the rider to adjust the diameter of the Crossfire boot at the calf. This system, along with longer upper straps, allows the Crossfire boot to accommodate riders with larger calves much easier than the previous Crossfire. The Crossfire can accommodate riders with up to a 22-inch calf diameter 14 inches above from the bottom of their heel. The inner plastic plate is made of two different materials; a rigid one to support the boot and a heat resistant one to protect the rider's leg from exhaust heat. All components of this system are fully replaceable and are available in a wide variety of colors for the option of customizing the boot to your taste.
    Non-Bootie Design:
Sidi boots do not incorporate inner booties into their design, and for good reason. Booties make the design larger and cumbersome, add to the boot's thickness, which interferes with shifting, plus the inner booties retain body heat affecting the rider's performance and comfort.
    Buckles:
The cam-lock buckle system incorporates a strap memory retention system.
Adjust the straps once and they will be at the same position for every ride after that! No more readjusting for every ride or mid-day during a ride.
    Toe:
The tip of the toe on the Crossfire and Charger boots are covered with plastic to protect the base material and seams against abrasion from brush etc. Plastic shift and brake lever guards on the top of each foot area.
    Other Features:
Lined with air Teflon mesh and Cambrelle

I own the TCX drifter boots and an Africa Twin. I used these boots now for three years and they have just gotten more comfortable. I rode from middle Tennessee to Northeastern Oklahoma and back in these (2 day travel) and spent some long days in these with only one complaint... Restroom stops for necessary relief, let’s just say that you hope the floor is clean because the hight of this boot necessitates removal for this purpose, especially in my waterproof Olympia pants when the liner is in. In the summer I recommend “Klim Ventilated Socks” with these as well since I’m an all season rider. Standard motorcycle jeans with pads fit rite over these also so, except for the knee pads, it doesn’t look like your wearing a tall boot either making a restaurant stop (which I limit, do to my previous statement, when on long trips) less attention getting.

I have the Gaerne Balanced. The protection is less than Sidi Adventure, especially around the ankles, but I couldn’t feel anything with my Sidi so I returned them. The Gaerne protection is probably adequate, but it’s just so comfortable to ride and walk in..if you don’t mind a little sacrifice they are beautiful

But i really loved to wear them about 15.000 km every year. Sad to say that i have to wait for 3 months until they are back on stock here in germany. Good information, commentary and ride footage! The X11 are made by the same boot maker that makes the O'Neal, BattleBorn and a few others - I managed to PU the O'Neal version of this on eBay for $78 bucks due to return - damaged box - these boots really are tough and stiff - took a couple of weeks of wearing around the office before I took them on a 8,000 mile tour around the US on a R1200GS... They are quite comfortable now though still very stiff. With the purchase of new tighter fitting ADV pants, I can no longer get cuffs over these boots and so don't wear them much. I am planning on attending ADV Rally this year on my new R1200GSA and will need to get new boots or another pair of pants with more cuff circumference so I can fit them over my boots... Those Gaerne's look awfully tempting after listening to you talk about them! Thanks for the review!

    • @WADZUP
      @WADZUP  5 лет назад

Thank you LATBP glad you enjoyed. Good point on ADV pants, some fit tight and some are loose cuts. I think you'll end of looking at some new pants or modifying the cuff because if they didn't work with the X11 the Garne is even wider and both those boots are fairly narrow in the big picture. I'll be reviewing some more ADV Dual Sport & MX gear soon including boots, pants and jackets. Cheers and safe riding!WADZ

There are affordable Gore Tex boots out there and it's worth it for the warranty. I went with Explorer Evo Gore Tex boots and love them but now I'm looking at All Terrain Gore Tex boots or TCX Baja Gore Tex boots for riding my DR650. Hi quick question. Does the sole wear out soon on the gaernae if you use it more on Tarmac? I think I heard someone mention it in one of their videos because of them being made out of gum. Pls reply. Thanks in advance

@@JobyStaneslavose Ive been wearing them both on and offroad and surprisingly they have held up really well. I expected them to wear fast but thats not the case they are holding up well. Thanks for watching!

The height of the boot isnt a con , its the fact there is zero protection and your going to break your damn leg in that boot right?

Ugly design. Just make the whole spot thicker not just slap a random patch on it for shifting. Plus for off road riding go with 100% protection with mx boots before you break a ankle or get crushed when falling

This dude has been riding in his Sidi boots for years and thinks they are Crossfire TA's when they are SRS boots and you sell these things dude? You should know what your talking about and you have no clue what you're talking about with any of those boots.
