It’s amazing that this boy has not had much, if any interactions with social media, classmates and friends but he has more intelligence, grace and is so well rounded. If kids his age would act and sound the way he does, the world may become a nicer place. Good luck to him and his future endeavors.
I agree very much with your assessment. I'm fairly certain the lack of influence that comes with cell phones and social media, along with the lack of interaction with peers during such a vital period of personal growth for a young person, is precisely why he's turned out the way he has. Influences that I believe are a large part of the destructive force that's bringing so much ruin to society and people's humanity.

@@libertasdemocratiam887 The admiration is for his actions in the situation, not because of how he got there.
@@JL-xz3zfExactly 💯 Clapping 👏🏼 for the boy.
@@libertasdemocratiam887I don't think this young man will have issues
@@libertasdemocratiam887~ He seems very stable, confident, mature, super intelligent, balanced, very autonomous, super capable...i don't think he'll have too many issues...He probably learned a lot of useful things he may not have otherwise...
Well spoken young man with a bright future ahead of him. 🙏♥️
A young man to be proud of. He KNEW he deserved and wanted better….and has people to go home to. Courageous.
you call the uk better lol . its a rite hole
I wish this young man nothing but the best, what a lovely person.
I hope he finds peace with himself and his past.
He sounds like he has.
His mom must have been a good person despite all, when you listen to how nice he talks and thinks and behaves. He grew up to be a very pleasant person.
What does that say about our education system? you are spot on about his mum IMO
If she was so good why did he have to sneak off? And why would she cut all communication with his previous life? Clearly selfish and manipulative
@@nakkadu yes. But DESPITE THAT she raised him well!
@@mrsTraveller64 No ....he turned out well. No reason to give her the credit. She lost custody of him, do you know how hard it is for a woman in the UK to lose custody of her child? Clearly a terrible mother
@@nakkadu he didn't sneak off from his mom but from their lifestyle.
Well spoken young man. His mum did look after him and make sure he learnt well and appears to have good manners. Bets of luck for the future
She literally took him out of school and away from his family to join a cult….
@@FinnbobjimbobWhat kind of cult?
@@sarah-jaynemcdonald2594 One where she is boning the guru. I would bet money on it.
@JudgeHill lol, that's usually a given! Wish we knew more, though. They seem to be just dripping the story out.
She made him live in isolation for years. He is a result of nature rather than nurture or lack thereof.
I’m blown away by this young man, he sounds so incredibly mature, he comes over so honest and intelligent, great future for him I hope
I didn't expect him to be kind of bright-minded and resourceful.
This young man has such insight, it’s a pleasure to see and hear him. I see a bright future, all power to him.
Good luck to you Alex! You are going to be just fine. Enjoy your Christmas with your nan. Best wishes to you. 🎉
What a well balanced level headed young man and what a wonderful grandmother who just sat there and let him talk. No airs or graces. Delightful
Good luck Alex. I hope you have a safe and happy life now with your Grandmother
What a delightful young young man, his Grandma has got the best Christmas present ever, she must be incredibly proud of him, it takes a very special person to do what he has done, he will have a bright future ahead of him of that I am sure ❤
His parents must have done something right. For their son to be so polite we'll spoken and indeed intelligent. I can see him learning new skills and with those he already seems to have will make a good future for himself. Just writing or getting someone to write his story could be a best seller just for starters.
Sometimes we learn from our parents mistakes rather than there successes.
@@wondertyzipp8260Exactly! Immediately, I thought of a family I know in which the father is "absent" from the home...only there physically and the mother is "around the bend"...however, the children have managed to use survival skills and come out very polite, hard working, alert and have avoided trouble in general.
This young man is a reflection of growing up without all the social media nonsense, smart focused able to problem solve and be able to execute a plan..
Facts!
Err, he said he would as much as he could play online games. I guess he also found out about social media. The internet probably even helped to see how "normal life' would be a better decision than staying hidden in remote areas
@@zapl80This! 💯
Sorry, that sounds too much like the thinking of his parents isolationist approach, which he was eventually forced to reject.
Brave young man.
A personable young man, articulate and seemingly well adjusted. I wish him well.
I’m delighted to see Alex with his lovely gran. He seems to be happy and healthy and I’m sure he’ll make something of his life. Best wishes to both of them. Dee
Doris, his grannie and him look very much alike . she is a sweet pie.
It’s amazing that this boy has not had much, if any interactions with social media, classmates and friends but he has more intelligence, grace and is so well rounded. If kids his age would act and sound the way he does, the world may become a nicer place. Maybe if we threw away our cellphones and went back old school, we’d learn to interact and communicate more with everyone and possibly we as a society would come together rather then be so far apart.
So lovely that he loves his grandma and his grandma loves him.
He's an absolute gem, clearly has not had his head polluted by Social media and such, lets hope he stays as polite and grounded in this mad world we now live in...
He is going to get some 🐱 and he'll become as brainless as everyone else
What a lovely young man! Bless his heart. I wish him lots of friends, a good education and a happy life from now on.
I'm so impressed how articulate Alex is and what a good and decent person he turned out to be. May God bless him always. I hope he makes lots of friends.
Comes over as a very thoughtful, insightful and decent young man. May his future be happy and healthy.
Well done Alex you were very brave and I bet your mamma really missed you ❤️
His mamma kidnapped him to join a cult.
If he is telling the truth about not telling his mum....yep she will be heart broken because only love could have raised a child like that
Obviously a very intelligent, honest and mature minded young man! I hope the world doesn't disappoint him too much.
What a lovely young man. All the best to him in the future. He has a bright future ahead of him for sure 👍🏻
Incredible young man to go through all that and be so positive about the whole expereince. So glad he has made it home!
He has such a lovely nature and personality .So glad he was able to come back safely to be with his grandma.
Wish him lots of good luck for the future
Thanks for sharing your story, Alex. Your Grandma missed you so much and I'm so glad you have this time together now.
Unfortunately this country has gone down the pan in last few years but I wish you the best you are brave coming back here.
Everywhere has gone down the pan it is up to you to make it better.
Not everyone is badly off as you think.
The world needs more kids like Alex. Welcome home young fella.
parents don't like free thinking kids
What an articulate and intelligent young man - A delight to listen to the thoughts and life of someone who has side-stepped the 'education' system and come out as a bright and rounded individual.
What an absolute beautiful soul this young man is. WOW. Alex Batty if only any of us could see life the way you do. The world would be beautiful. What a heart you have. Bless you! Good on you for making a choice for your future. You're brave and a very noble, empathic young man. I wish the best for your future x
What an amazing young man - deserves all the best life can give him after 6 years of having few friends and choices. Good on you lad!
Such a strong brave kid. He will go far in life & I'm glad he's free, safe & on the path he wants to be on now.
Alex. Happy for you and your granny. Make sure to contact Fabien for a reunion. Best of luck in future whatever you all decide to do. Great story with a happy ending.
What a lovely, well adjusted, intelligent and honest chap. I hope he does well in life, and makes some friends!
Bless you, Alex ! ❤ To you and your wonderful Nan - its a complete Miracle and a beautiful reunion with your Granny !! Wonderful Christmas to Alex and his Granny ! Bless you both ! 🙏🙏🙏❤
What an extraordinary young man. I wish him all the best for his future.
Brave kid
What a mature well-spoken young man. In spite of the odd lifestyle, they were obviously doing something right. I have no doubt that he'll do well at whatever he decides for his future.
What a good hearted soul. ❤
You can tell that he is close to his grandma, even being gone for 6 years. I am so happy for this outcome.
Must be a first for The Sun to scoop a genuinely human interest story that doesn't involve prejudice or recrimination.
and its the first time they are not taking jabs at Megan markle. its a positive change. we understand megan brings the clicks but this right here, its way more important
What an extraordinary young man. Bravo
This young man does have a sophisticated grasp of the English language. There was education of a sort. Hope his life becomes what it can be. His intelligence should take him far. Wish him best wishes.
There had to have been a reason why the grandmother had custody of him. The mother and grandfather took him on a wild ride to many countries, yet all along, he yearned to be home, in England, to see his grandmother. That says a lot!
Lovely positive young person. All the best to him.
I commend both his mother and Alex for having the opportunity to test a period that differs from that which most youths experience these days. As an alder person, I can state that living without or little noise, and silent meditation, allowed me to listen to myself, my intuition, my inner true being. You acquire a sense of belonging and the assurance of being on track for an expanding peace of mind. I trust Alex has grown lucidly and has the means for guidance at hand.
I wish him all the luck in the world.xx
I honestly can't express how impressive it is for someone so young, to have gone through so much, and come out of it so wise.
Incredible, and a funny lad too😂
What a brave young man
Did he go to school? Because he speaks better than most kids who do go to school .. he is one amazing young man. What a credit I hope his grandma is proud because I think the whole of the UK should be too !
Wow, we finely get to see him and hear him 😊
So happy to see this young man doing well! Have been following the case since it broke. I wish him all the best from SW Missouri 🇺🇸
Poor lad , happy he is home and safe with his Gran and he can try to enjoy a teenage boys life.
