one problem i found is when the battery get a little low, when you hit to hard, it resets before u can see the time. Any ideas why?

We bought the MoYu timer in July, a little more than 2 months ago. My 9-year-old has been using a good amount since, and it's been good. Suddenly today, the clock is running slow - it takes approx 25 real seconds to get to 1 second on the MoYu. We have changed the batteries to see if it was a battery issue. No difference. Does anyone have a fix to suggest? We bought it in another country while on vacation, so an exchange to the store is not feasible. My son is bummed - he bought it with his own saved-up money and it wasn't cheap for him. Please and thank you.
