All my dogs are microchipped but it all really depends on how persistent the rescue/place that gets them are...some scan for chips and I've seen some that are lazy/incompetent and don't :(
Wow 6 years! That's a lot of time loss considering our fur babies don't have a really long life even at its best but so happy they found each other and wish these dog nappers would all get caught and wind up behind bars!
Years ago, I had a Husky Mix someone stole out of my vehicle. I just happened to see a guy walking him half a block down the street. Had I been 15 Seconds later I'd have lost my Dog for good. As it was, I quickly and VERY quietly raced up behind him. When I got two feet from him, I said "Excuse me". He stopped, looked at me, and i pepper sprayed the Bastard in the face POINT BLANK! He dropped like a Rock, screaming. I was on Fire Dept. Business at the time so was in my EMS Uniform. I called 9-1-1, and the fates were smiling that day-the first Officer on the scene was a K-9 Unit! TRUE STORY! I believe that MY Badge and Uniform also contributed to my not being arrested for the use of the Pepper Spray. I felt I was perfectly justified in using force to get my Dog back. It was kind of funny on the part of the thief, screaming HE was going to sue me. The K-9 Officer told him: "Shut up or I'll spray you myself!" The guy kept insisting the Dog was his-Until I showed the Officers the tags on his Collar, showing his License-FROM ANOTHER COUNTY- and my wife's and my name & phone number in case he ever became lost; which JUST HAPPENED TO MATCH MY STATE I.D! At that point they police handed me the leash....GAME over for the prick who stole my Pooch! The Officers asked if I wanted to press charges. I told them no-This loser wouldn't learn anything, and I had no desire to see MY tax dollars feed and house yet another useless sponge! They let him go and I got my Dog back....Which was the ONLY thing that really mattered to me!
One time our dog got stolen when he was out for a potty, but after a year, we got surprised that he was at our yard with a leash on. he had a new dog tag. it has identification, an address and a contact number. The address was too far away. one time we followed him and got to see his new (dog stealer) home and we were surprised That it was our neighbor 3 houses away with the same breed of dog who took him. She was an old lady and wants to make her dog pregnant with our dog. Before, when she walk pass our house she would say hi to our dog and play with it. She could have asked but she stole our dog. luckily our dog got a chance to escape😤 her dog got pregnant but later died because of pregnancy complication. now she had no dogs😤
my neighbor stole my cat out of our house while we were moving our stuff out kept him for 2 freaking weeks before trying to sell him on craigslist the idiots 😂
Donut Kat when I was little I had a dog named chirike she was a pommie and we had her for a while but one day while my dad was at work I started to cry cuz I was hungry, when my mom went back into the room the front door was open and chirike was gone.😞😞😞 we never found her and most likely by now she would have died of old age. my mom knew who took her because she was a "friend" of hers. but because she didn't have enough proof. we never saw her again.
Thank God for that microchip other ways Chili's mom probably would have never seen chili again I'm so glad they got back together there's nothing worse than losing your best friend it just breaks your heart God bless the both of them and stay safe chili 🧚🧚🧚
Thank you for saving and getting your partner back and when I see new dogs out there with their owners I ask if they rescue them and did they microchip them because they take them and if they are microchip them they can get them back home now and all of mine are microchip and even the cat's are done and I will have to get the one in my name now
What if I get my dogs chipped then decide to move latter on? Nothing on his chip will be the same. I'm surely not going to chip him twice or have surgery to get the old one out and a new one in.
Karma karma karma going to get the person or persons that took him and no where to hide you theaf!!!! Happy he's home with you Cindy awe he's so cute he looks happy an I think he remembers you love to you both.🐕💖😇
Actually no. There’s very little information you can attach to those chips and my dog has had nothing but problems with cancer since getting his 4 years ago. We just discovered his 7th….this one on his ear. It was fine till we messed with it to test it. Has tripled in 3 weeks.
my cat and dog are both microchiped I'll take the risk of it doing harm against losing my furry kids any day. not sure what an inert little chip can do though, personally I think that's bollocks
"On this chip, you have your name, where you live, where the dog lives, your address, everything". Really? there is a chance the dog lives separately from the owner? Also what else does "everything" cover? Surely all you need is the phone number!
People move or for other reasons don't have the same phone number. There needs to be at least the name and state (so many people have the same last names sometimes the same first and last names) so they can be found if they have moved, have a different phone number.
Mark Andrew, if the back yard is fenced in, there isn't any imediate danger posed. I leave my dogs in my backyard for several hours until I get home. With a sturdy fence, one does not expect someone to snatch up their pup. Now, if the backyard is not fenced in, I agree 100% with your statement about the sitter.
Most spiteful criminal people live here in Tampa Florida. Mine 7years. Family revenge. Why. We are a song and tv film stage writer family. Mostly me. Fooled by pigs. I mean she was my first dog. Had her 11years. Rescued from a history of about 4years of neglect. Im a victim of Stockholm syndrome too. As a no kid not married woman. I did my life for i thought quiet parents. No way drugs sex murder. They are 85year old maggots.
So glad he got reunited with his mom!🎉
I'm so happy that chilli is home!! He's adorable....
Omg, poor baby 😢 So glad he made it home finally
90% of dogs that are stolen , have been left in a fenced yard unattended! NEVER leave your pups unattended!!
The owners are careless & then they claim to love their pets.
I love how they call her "Chilli's mom" instead of "Chilli's owner". Dogs really are our family.
Also unhealthy to humanise dogs in that manner. Owner is the correct term.
You do your thing, I'll do mine. I don't tell you what's unhealthy or not, so why should you?
emichelle19 + Exactly!
Animals can never be humanized ever. They could never be as cruel as humans.
+Minda Markoff Amen.
It's so traumatic for dogs to be stolen those thieves should be so punished poor doggies 🐈🐕🦺🦮🐕

Such a sweetie :-) Glad he's home.
Who leaves a small dog in the yard like that?
SMDH
People with yards.
*Microchip your pets and always keep the information up to date! You can do it online. :)*

Chili is not an it. He’s a boy. Microchip!!!
Aw poor baby was treated poorly why steal someone’s dog when there are so many homeless. Happy for her to be back with her mom
Never leave your dog alone in the backyard!

He was in "ruff" condition? Is this deliberate?
Oh I'm just teasing, I'm very glad the lil' buddy is safe and sound.
sitter fired.
may we call that kidnapping not stealing ?? a dog is not a "thing" to be stolen , he is a living soul 😑
people need to learn, checking for a chip,is free save. a lot of suffering
What if I get my dogs chipped then decide to move latter on? Nothing on his chip will be the same. I'm surely not going to chip him twice or have surgery to get the old one out and a new one in.
All you have to do is change your information on the chip company's website. You do not have to get your dogs re-chipped.
Wait hold up! A Pomeranian? Soooo cute!
Karma karma karma going to get the person or persons that took him and no where to hide you theaf!!!! Happy he's home with you Cindy awe he's so cute he looks happy an I think he remembers you love to you both.🐕💖😇

How trustful was the dog-sitter? Many, Many dogs disappear from dog-sitters.
I do every thing I can for animals not people..i love animals though.
When I was exhibiting Bulldogs, I had all my pups Chipped at age Nine Weeks. Three weeks before any went to a new home.
congrats u get ur family member back mam
my cat and dog are both microchiped I'll take the risk of it doing harm against losing my furry kids any day. not sure what an inert little chip can do though, personally I think that's bollocks
Chris Hamlet cant hurt
Pictures prove ownership. I agree. Fifteen microchip companies are too many to search
"On this chip, you have your name, where you live, where the dog lives, your address, everything". Really? there is a chance the dog lives separately from the owner? Also what else does "everything" cover? Surely all you need is the phone number!

Some dog sitter, leaving a dog alone in the backyard. How stupid and lazy.

With a sturdy fence, one does not expect someone to snatch up their pup. Now, if the backyard is not fenced in, I agree 100% with your statement about the sitter.
That tiny dog could've easily been carried away by a large hawk. Don't leave them unchained in a yard alone.
Like two dogs nearly got stolen as well

Strangest post I've read in a long time :-O
Chilli looks a little hot in that coat.
GOD Reconnect you with your pet
So we can pull all that shit into a microchip but can't do something with GPS?
Tyler Antonio actually. There are fiftteen companies. So you have to have the info on hand. Plus pictures are best
Tyler Antonio that is a really good idea.
Speaker whispering is distracting.
Happiness with a capital”H”.
who stoled him
Our car got stolen 💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔
It was stolen
Microchipped your God dang pets people!
A sitter/dog walker sold my cousin's dog to a drug dealer for drugs.
Chip your animals
A dog isn't an "it". A chair is an it. A dog is either he or she. What journalism school did this reporter attend?
