Thank you very much...i just went making the mold exam in solidworks without knowing anything about plastics. I failed at 55 out of the 120 minimum points needed to pass.
When i decided to learn mold making (about a month ago), i learned everything specifically with those key works, "mold making". I learned throughly about draft analysis, scale factors, parting lines, parting surface, tooling split, cavity commands, shut off surface a bit about side cores.
Nothing about plastics would come up with those keywords though, because its plastics domain to talk about mold cooling problems, max mold opening, runner and sprue, tapered interlocks etc and those things wont come up if you search "mold making" only. I discovered today that i need to learn about SW plastics in order to learn what i was missing.
So now here am.
In order to pass i need to learn plenty of:
-max mold open distance (know nothing about)
-virtual molded part (i did inserting a new part and cavity but lots of artifacts came with the part....)
-mold cooling (know nothing about)
-runner and sprue (know nothing about)
-tapered interlocks (know nothing about)
-side core creation ( i think i can learn this one alone though).
So i wonder if i will be able to find these missing pieces on YT, searching for "solidworks plastics" instead of "solidworks mold making".
We will see....

yes i know but, what a kind of fixture i will be used.........................
if i used fixed geometry, the maximum stress will be in the fixed side(top or bottom ) but, actually, the maximum stress in the real world is going to be at the center of the piece until the piece broken.

How show design runner in solidworks plastic?
In the newer versions such as SOLIDWORKS Plastics 2021, the runner design function is found in the “Domians” category. Right click on “Domains” and choose “Runner System”. It is here that you will select the sketch lines and assign the diameters.
