Jumping into a room I've shared only a few times on the channel! This room is going to the the TV/movie room where we can lounge and hangout in a cozy and moody space! I really wanted to make this space feel like a "fox den" if you will :)

I love how intense all Drew's design choices are tbh. He really doesn't half ass something, he goes for his desired aesthetic 1000% even if it's a bit unique. He would trust him to never made a single dull space that looks like it could be another creator.
It's perfection in my eyes. I'm all for the deep moody colors. Those are the ones that make me feel happy. I confess, I was so glad you painted over the yellow. I must be the only person who finds yellow to be depressing. Can't wait to see the rug and art you pick.
@J Mitch No my dear, you aren't alone. I also find it just blah. I found out after my baby was grown, that yellow is the worst color you can paint your child's nursery as it makes them irritable. And it just so happens, that baby was my crankiest, most miserable child and she cried until she was 4, no joke.
Me too! Not a fan of yellow unless it's a moody mustard yellow and only used as an accent to bring that pop of color into a space

I don't mind yellow and always loved it when i was younger however I'm more into the golds/ambers from the yellow family haha!

The sofa literally looks like it was custom made for that space Drew! Love the fabric choice which definitely looks like a tweed or boucle from a distance but then leads to the gorgeous mini Paisley print. Once again you’ve judged the colours perfectly-very moody vibes which are perfect for a tv room 😊

Problem there is it can't be padded for sound but that Line is a beautiful one Electrically for Sure as is those Moody Rugs used in their photoshoots

I agree with all three. The room is stunning, but I’d never be brave enough to paint the walls brown. I wish I could see through the eyes of an artist.

If you‘re doing an oil painting gallery wall, you could totally frame the tv and disguise it as a painting! I know Samsung makes one called „the frame“ that you can put in „art mode“ so it shows a painting. It‘s a great way to have a screen not look out of place in a room with mostly vintage elements! Anyways the house is looking stunning so far :)
MaCenna has one in her lounge in the cottage. It has a painting done by her mother.
I was going to suggest the same thing! As an artist, I couldn't stand the techno look of a tv in my studio, but I wanted a tv in there. Samsung The Frame solved my problem and it looks so much better!

I believe he had a frame tv in his prior apartment. I have one and love it.

I was watching a video last night that was showing trends for 2023 with different rooms and I saw about 3 or 4 spaces I immediately recognized as spaces in your house and your old apartment. I felt so proud of you

Same! I watched a video recently where the person was gluing and painting pieces of wood right on her beautiful area rug with no drop cloth or anything. 😬. Maybe I am just more messy when I paint but I could never do that.

What a transformation! The sofa came out beautiful & the ball pillows add the perfect accent to it! Wasn't sure about the paint color but with sofa in the room, now it make sense! Looking forward to the next room to be transformed.

Maybe for Fun night with friends, blend them with lots of pillows for comfort.. you could chuck a pillow like that at someone..🤭 but, two single ball pillows, alone?... no.
We had HUGE comfy floor pillows back in the 70's. Those were fun!

So great about Justin's chair! I also cant believe you got that sofa free. Worth the reupholstery! Its also great you have a separate tv room. We end up living in our 2 chairs in front of tv and eatng off trays! In basically a one room house.

Use a stain pen on your beams ... you may need several colors to get them to match.... Fabulous couch

Once again you went for it. As you are shopping for fabric or paint colors, I always think, that won't look good... and then YOU put it all together and BAM, I love it. A lot to learn from Drew & Crew about design choices... just go for it is one of them!

I LOVE your new room! That paint color is perfect!
I like the light fixture. Don't forget, it will prob be over coffee table, so it doesn't matter that it hangs low. Yes oil paintings with big gold frames. Also you might want to treat ceiling beams, like with darker stain, to match more with walls.

I'm surprised how much I really do love that room, it looks amazing with the couch and the wall colour! I think that antique bronzed/gold coloured trim, just a little perhaps around the beams (where they meet the ceiling) or even on the walls if you want to keep the art work more minimal, would be a really perfect accent in this room!

Yes - I agree! I love the current light fixture. It looks like something you would see at the Hearst Castle - it has a bit of a Spanish style and flair! Love it!

Though the light isn’t staying, the dark walls makes the dark gold/bronze of the chandelier POP. The couch looks amazing! Great job!
This room reminds of some fabulous bars - my favorite being a bar in HAVANA. Very good and elegant bars are very very dark. They are places where you know that once you are tucked into that corner booth- you've found a sanctuary from the noise of the world. Now you do not have to drink - in fact a very good bar has an excellent 'bar' menu of wonderful yummy food. Order a petite pan seared steak served on a roll with a side of pom frites ( tender double fried potato wedges). The walls may covered in fabric or wood paneling, the room is gently illuminated with glowing amber light from wall scones with silk fabric shades and perhaps a real table lamp at your booth ( good to read your newspaper- or go over your contract if in Hollywood).

Was a bit concerned about the brown paint, especially on the ceiling with those great beams. But your amazing eye did it again, perfection! Also I was watching a kitchen trends update for 2023 and boy are you on target with your remodel. So fun watching your progress in this beautiful project!! 💕

This room is turning out so beautiful! What about leaving the rattan and cloth off of the hutch and just put the glass back on it? The glass is already cut for it. Put some remote lighting in there and make it a nice airy display case when movie screen isn't in use. 🤔💗

Drew, you may want to look into some type of UV film or tint for the windows to keep the sofa and floors beautiful. The dark colour is certainly dramatic!! Looking forward to what you will be doing with the lighting.
