well obv ur not meant to know the whole character in the anime, all u gotta know is that nothing ends well in night city not the story of each and everyone's lives lol@@GorudenMusic
You should take a look at the song for the new dlc called ‘phantom liberty’ it’s by the same guy and it’s kinda like a James Bond title song, it’s so good.
Both the music and the visual story told here are amazing. The character featured here is Sasha Yakovleva and she was the crew's netrunner before kiwi. This video acts as a prequel to the show. When paying attention to the details, some may notice how the gun she used is the same one Maine gave to David when he first started out.
One thing I really appreciated in Phantom Liberty was a side mission in Dogtown in which you help a woman named Stella Ramos. Her sister was Sasha Ramos, the edgerunner in this video.
Her last name being Yakovleva, as well as the scene of her jumping through the glass window, are both nods to a Japanese cyberpunk great in GiTS, and the singer who sang their iconic song in Olga Vitalevna Yakovleva (Origa), who passed in 2015.
Dude, never would have expected this. Loved the show and Loved this song, especially the music vid. CP77 definitely had alot of underrated songs which Edgerunners brought to the forefront.
I'm glad you analyzed a Polish artist 😍 Dawid is a great musician, both his lyrics and melodies tell interesting stories. and this song is great because it seems simple, but it has different layers, that you captured. Greetings from Poland ❤
I like how this song have this chill, relaxing ambience with a bit of melancholy, like "yeah, that how we live and relax in the Night City" while vocalist bring up how much personal pain and suffering is hidden underneath that facade. Love this song and MV!
The artist Dawid is absolutely phenomenal at driving emotion out of the instrumentation and vocals. I would recommend giving his album Annoyance and Disappointment a listen at some time
I was surprised to see this in my sub feed but I'm so glad I did! I absolutely fell in love with this song when I heard it as the ending theme and loved the full version more, and to see you react to it and love it as well has just made my night. Thank you for the reaction!
What a series. My favourite songs from this anime are 'I Really Want to Stay At Your House', 'Major Crimes', 'Little Stranger' and 'Phantom Liberty'. The 2 last ones are made from the same guy. I hope you check them out!
Major Crimes playing just before Maine "goes screamin over the edge" as the doc would say hits me every time. The song is so simplistic but it works so well for that leadup
this song is crazy to me, having played the game this actually makes me feel like i was V and gives me nostalgia like I've actually met Jackie and Vic and Panam and I got the chance to get out of Night City and I'm now remembering the really awesome people I've met there
I'm loving this soundtrack SOO much. It appeared in my live when I was needed. Every autumn day I turned it on along the way to school. I walked down the rainy street and sang along in full voice. In fact, I still do that and today I sang like that! What a wonderful music and a gorgeous singer. I am very glad that this channel got to it😍😍
found your channel a cupple weeks ago, and I just like so much the way you breakdown and explain the little details of the songs you listen to. It really makes me appreciate the music in a more deep level. Keep it up ! 🔥
Cyberpunk 2077 - Phantom Liberty OST made by - Dawid Podsiadło. I was blown away at the end of phantom liberty when the music started playing. I broke down in tears and couldn’t believe it was finally over. What a beautiful experience.
It wasn't until I'd seen the video a couple of times that I realized how that synth line in the background is so great, because it isn't just a part of the song. Right after that sound begins and Sasha disconnects from the network that's when she sees Maine's message that their signal jammer was taken down and they know she's there. So it doubles as the alarm going off in the animation as well.
FINALLY I've been waiting so much for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners soundtrack. It has some more good pieces, from which I'd like to see Friday Night Firefight or WHO'S READY FOR TOMMOROW Cheers, great video as always!
This music video is a double feature because the music is amazing but we also get a full story compressed into 4 mins and 44 seconds. It even makes you care and feel about a character in so little time.
As I've read the Neuromancer (The first Cyberpunk book) It's so much joy for me because this character Sasha is with her looks almost identical to one main character Molly, (but Molly has glass, sort of monitors instead of eyes). Not only looks, but they both have their claws and small pistol and colour of hairs and haircut. + They both have described their as bodies as of dancers. I mean, the Neuromancer coined most of the terms for tech, and everything for Cyberpunk so I've no doubt that CDPR had major inspirations from this book. Even the plot of Cyberpunk 2077 is heavily similiar to one from Cyberpunk. You got 2 heists, similiar characters and motifs. Like relics etc. Also it could be an easter egg but in prologue Jackie and V go to rescue Sara Dorsett, while the main character of Neuromancer also had surname Dorsett and is said that he had wife and kids. (but ofc. the world is totally different.) Bro even OG Night City was in the Neuromancer just like street samurais I mean A LOT of inspiration. Not to mention that this book, Neuromancer also invented the concept of Matrix, way before films. I recommend reading this book. " It's Cyberpunk"
Yes, Neuromancer is great. However, the idea of a global interconnected virtual reality computer network jacked into that can be manipulated by certain hacker types was done around the same time by a property called Shadowrun, in the 80s. And their name for this network? The Matrix, pre-film Matrix.
didn't watch cyberpunk but this thumbnnail really caught my attention. is it possible that the illustrator kuvshinov ilya worked on this music video? i used to love looking at his work and it the style is one of its own. so recognizable. would be embarassing for me if it isn't him
I love how they make this music video into one of the story that connect with the actual anime it self and i've been a fan of CP2077 even before the anime and i seen it and i can't stop remember it...
Great analysis as always, Tony! I was looking through your videos and was wondering if you ever did a reaction to Porter Robertson’s song “Shelter”? If you hadn’t then I would suggest it since the music is emotional and paired with the visuals, which you should watch in you spare time, almost brings a tear to my eye every time.
relistening to the ED, while listening to your opinion and breakdown, made me shed tears after remembering how depressing the anime was. Awesome reaction nonetheless also, context in case the other comments didn't give: the protagonist of the video is Sasha Yakovleva, Maine's netrunner before Kiwi introduced Lucy to the group. While on a contract of stealing information from megacorp BioTechnica she runs into a classified file for a drug her ill older sister (hope i remembered right) had prescribed. She then finds out its side effects were what killed her. She abandons her mission and chooses to leak the information to prevent others from sharing her sister's fate, choosing to die in a blaze of glory. Hell, that's the only fate the game and its universe seem to have for V, David and everyone, besides fading into anonymity. I'm definitely not crying right now
Sound euphonium? Its quite surprising it showed and even got second, its a great show but I barely see anyone talking about it Look forward to seeing about it
It's instrumental, but you can try "The Rebel Path (Cello version)", it's so unique I think you would like it a lot. You don't need to record a video, just try it :D
Great video! I have a bit of a niche recommendation, but to celebrate its 1.0 release you should look at the soundtrack for World of Horror, really tense sounds that fit the game like a glove.
Can I suggest reviewing some of the music from the animated show Arcane. Almost every episode had a dedicated musical number somewhere in it! Plus y'know, the show is legit awesome
Day 4 of asking Tony to make a reaction video on Gimmme! by Oresama (Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle ending theme), its very funky with Stay With Me vibes, you will love it
i know this is old, but if you're a fan of james bond-esque mood/music...YOU SHOULD REALLY CHECK OUT/REACT to the Phantom Liberty song. I do believe it's done by the same person
