Trying to fix timing on my singer, somehow the looper keeps coming loose even though I’ve tightened the screw tight in the worm gear, wondering what I may be doing wrong

double check your worm gear is not popping out of the keyhole and maybe the spring is weak??? just posted a video titled Chain? or Moss? hot to tell???? has info on how so change the worm gear.
