How do I find the loops I made
Had mine for about a week and while I am impressed with many of the features and really want to embrace and endorse this instrument, I am already disappointed by a few important things (to me)
1. No quantize/snap function for loop recording either during recording or playback
2. When you start recording a loop, you have to wait for a 1 bar count-in. I much prefer the Roland SPD-s process which arms record and gives a click, but doesn’t start recording until you actually strike a pad.
3. Would love to have a “live record” loop function (similar to Wavedrum Mini or the latest Roland Handsonic) where you are able simply and quickly record a phrase without having to set up tempo or bar length etc.. Great for capturing “on the fly” loops in real time.
4. Cannot match sampled loops to clock/tempo sync (like in Ableton). Loops only play back at tempo recorded
5. No ability to have sampled loop phrases start playback on the nearest beat/bar etc… If you don’t hit the pad exactly in time you loops will be out of sync.
6. No way to sync FX such as delay to clock/tempo
This product is amazing! Please please PLEASE make an update to allow us to adjust the sound playback BPM for all sounds in the MultiPad, THANK YOU!!!!

Lopper is cool but unfortunately it doesn't allow changing kit while creating a loop neither turn on/off particular elements of the loop. So this won't do for live looping. Recording loop for further usage is great though!
Does the looper record any active FX assigned to the kit/master? And why oh why is there no quantize/snap function for the loop recording??? Why no undo???? These are important features in my book...especially for live performance recording.Hopefully 1.4 update?
Alesis! I want to start a live loop by hitting any pad without taking away from pad sounds....please!!!....i dont want a 4 count at the start of recording every loop. I need this for when im in the middle of a song live i can immediately kick in and start recording without stopping to press a sequence of buttons and wait for an additional 4 count to start looping a sequence. Also, I dont want the metronome to always dictate my tempo/timing! If i wanna fly off the rails playing a different timing, id like it to play back exactly as i played it when recording it with or without quantizing..,and quantizing options would be great too! At the very least an on or off . My spd-s worked great for this, but i sold it like a dummy. I really want to love this drum pad as much as i did my spd-s. The whole reason i bought this multipad was bc i thought this was already an option with the strike multipad. Help! I want to end this by saying i do believe this multipad is superior in so many ways comparison to my old spd-s. From build quality, to sound and definitely the lights are a great touch! Can you guys please humor me and look into this for a future firmware update? Its perfect everywhere else! I have v1.3 already, just uploaded yesterday. It would really mean worlds to me! I totally agree! I’ll add this: be able to take an empty kit and create loop directly on any chosen pad directly.
The workflow of looping is really tedious. Having to make a loop & overdubs in *Perform* then save it, then go in *Sound* then browse to find that loop and assign it to a pad in the kit, then go to Mode to set the playback to _Loop_ for each of the created loops (I just created a loop and by default it’s saved as a One Shot 🙄), then go back to *Perform* to play… All this is ridiculous. Why not just tap an empty pad and have the choice to select a sound OR *create a loop* for it, that’s it. That would elevate *Perform* to a new level.

Hello! Great vid. Can you assign a pad to stop and start the loop again, instead of having to use the tiny button? Also can we assign a pad to adjust the tempo if need be?

I’ve been interested in this piece of gear for quite some time now. I was just about to order an Alesis Strike MultiPad Percussion Pad but I need a very important question answered first. I know the Alesis Strike MultiPad Percussion Pad is capable of so much more, but I plan to use it only as a drum kit. I’m now in a situation where there is a physcial space and volume limitation. There’s not enough space for an electronic drum kit. It would be great to just walk in with this pad, a stand, and a foot and hi hat controller.
QUESTION:
When the Alesis Strike MultiPad Percussion Pad is used as/like a drum kit, is the hi hat able to be played/controlled closed, half open and sloshy? Or is it just closed or fully open? I’ll order one RIGHT NOW if the hi hat can be played/controlled like a hi hat.

Alesis, could you please tell me about the build quality? Can it withstand heavy gigging/transportation?
As an owner/user, my opinion is that the build quality is quite solid. No real issues with mine in this regard (would definitely use it live, which is why I bought it in the first place).

how do you put the looper of the drums mesh on the multipad
I wonder if these pads have the same reliability and QC issues that the Alesis Strike drum sets have, I see lots of peeps complaining about things like mesh heads ripping, triggers failing or breaking after very little usage. This product looks good but looks are deceiving sometimes.

When you played the grove at the end, did you have to select a tempo to play at? I want to add drums to a guitar track i play live but wouldnt want to have to select a tempo to play , i would want to match the guitars rhythm.
Can you undo the last part of the loop if you make a mistake?
Hello, great device there! One of the questions I was wondering about is wether changing the kit has any impact on wavs playing at that moment? Cymbal ringouts, toms, phrases or backing tracks... Same goes for the recorded loops, do they continue playing? What happens to the efx, tempo and routing for instance?
Hello Mr Recchia : one question after save the looper in a Sample User , how can you call it back the saved loop ?? that be the sequence of commands to recall a saved loop? alternative question exist more lopp saved in the drive, how do they load this loop ????
The one question that i have is, let's say you're building a loop with 3 layers. The first 2 layers go great but you mess up the third layer. Is there any way that you can just delete that third layer? Because, as a complete noob to this, it's pissing me right off that i have to delete the loop and do the whole bloody thing over again?
Great video!! I really want to buy the Strike Multipad but not exactly sure it will do what I need:
1 - I would like to run entire backing tracks from each pad, so I can play guitar on top.... but if for example if on pad 1 I have part A of a backing track (verse), on pad 2 I have part B of a backing track (chorus), can I use a pedal to go from pad 1 (part A) to pad 2 (part B)?
2 - When looping... could I assign different length loops to different pads? So for example, if I do a 1 bare drum loop and have it on pad 1, could I then do a 4 bare loop (for example a 4 bare guitar chord sequence) and have it on pad 2...and have pad 1 and 2 looping....efectively creating a live backing track...

my in built loops are not changing acording to the tempo, how to fix that
Has anyone had any issues with accidentally hitting the screen I haven't bought one yet but I was wondering is it strong enough to take a strike sometimes when you're playing at dark place that accident might happen just wondering. thanks rimshot

Saw a video on youtube recently where an Alesis rep demonstrated how tough the screen is - by drumming on it. I recently got my own AS multipad (thanks, ebay!) and tried it briefly - the screen is fine. It sounds better drumming on the pads though ;-)

When loop is created and saved is it possible to mute/unmute the pads in the loop?
The Strike MultiPad features an audio looper, so there's no way to drop elements in and out after it's recorded.

These are great WHEN they work. My pads are going out one by one. Get a roland octopad & save yourself the headache!
The lack of a software editor and non existent updates unfortunately makes Rolands SPD-SX series seem way superior. #abandonware

No quantize and no undo. Please be sure to contact Alesis support and let them know you want these features included in a version 1.4 update!
Anyone know if you can change kits while recording a loop?
Not at this time. If you're looping you need to stay on the kit the loop began on.
@@AlesisVideo Ok, thanks. Can you assign a loop that you've already created to a pad on a different kit, then record a new loop with the previous loop playing? What I'm trying to get to is the ability to layer different kit sounds in a single loop. So for example make a loop using a kit of electronic sounds, then add some acoustic sounds from another kit, and have it all in a single loop. Thanks!
@@mtrow23 You can definitely save the loop, add it to another kit, and then start recording a new loop which includes the original. Super easy!

Yes you can. As a matter of fact the only way you can save a loop recording is as an audio sample file.
I just bough the Strike Multipad. Cool machine but, the new model does not support loop playback as a stand alone machine.
Can I control the Performance mode and the looper from a external trigger. So I would like to control the backing track from a external trigger is that possible.
Yes, you can.
Is this able to loop voice as well? Straight from a mic.
Yes, the looper can record from the audio inputs (which you can plug a mic into)
Or kind you control the tempo of the loop in real time
So I understand that while looping, the click is only routed to the headphones and not to the main output so that an audience would not hear the click right? Maybe this is obvious, just wanted to be sure ;)

@@DjaYPrinZ In the digital environment, there are no limit on how many times you change a sound unlike the analog was. No sound degradation whatsoever.

if you change pitch and overrite the same samples many time( 4 times) qualty of sample is very bad. is that a bug?
Can I change the speed after a loop?
Unfortunately no.....and this is too bad. Once you have the loop recorded you have to save it as a .wav sample in the unit. You can then go through a very convoluted process for changing the pitch of the sample which will change the tempo.....but it's a real drag and not at all a practical way to do so. I am wanting to have loops be able to time stretch/sync to external clock tempo, but it won't do this currently. Hopefully they will address this issue in version 1.4.

You can double roll with the Alesis strike but NOT with the DTXM12 because the pads are VERY VERY soft. The drumsticks don't rebound at all! If you need to do a lot of double stroke rolls like for India music, you are better of with the Alesis strike. Also, the hand and finger feature on the DTXM12 is a joke. You need to really pound hard the thing to produce any decent sound.

@@ivanmarinov77 You can record your bass from your keyboard directly into the record inputs of the Alesis Strike. No problem here.

Buying one in 2022 is disappointing. Everything on this gear is awesome except for one small detail, the looper is more of a OneShot recorder and not a professional looper. There is no UnDo or ReDo or even any quantization. I wonder why Alesis didn't included a decent looper? UnDo and ReDo are definitely performance oriented tools for real looping. I'm really bummed... HaHa I may still return it tho....
