  • In this tutorial, I show you how to transfer files to the Oculus Go through its USB port step-by-step, so that you can view 180° or 360° degree 3D videos or movies at a later time offline. Though there are quite a few apps that allow you to stream 3D videos on your Oculus, there are times when you may want to watch VR videos offline or avoid logging into Facebook just to watch some movies.

    This video is going to be a life saver. Like literally. My wife hit a point in life where her depression has consumed her. She's couped up in the house and unable to go outside he house much. I purchased a 360 camera not long ago and i plan to record walkthrough videos of her favorite places like parks or the beach. Then il put them on a VR headset so that she can at least virtually get the feeling of being at her favorite places. I really hope this helps kick her depression to the curb a little. Also hope this device supports audio output as well. Anybody know if this would be the best VR headset for my situation? Mainly for being able to revisit locations recorded in 360 format and not for other reasons like gaming?

    • @accessrandom
      @accessrandom  2 года назад

      That is a fantastic idea. Audio is supported. The Go is one of the first wireless models from Oculus, so its max resolution is 4096x4096 for 360 degree 3D, which I find to be sufficient. 180 degree max resolution is even higher. The Quest 2 is the newest wireless, which can go up to 5760x5760 for 360 3D according to their specs. You may want to try them out if possible before deciding.

    Thanks for a great video. Can you tell if there is a 360 camera that will allow me to record a video that can just be copied to a PC and then onto the Oculus Go without any other processing (for classroom use)?

    • @accessrandom
      @accessrandom  4 года назад

      That's a good question. I was actually looking for a lower-priced camera to create footage for my video but I decided to go with an existing Creative Commons clip. I looked at the Rylo, Samsung Gear 360, and the Yi 360 - unfortunately they seem to be older models with little maintenance support. The Rylo and Samsung require external software to stitch the video together, but the Yi 360 has in-camera stitching for 4K videos. Again, I haven't used it and I'm not sure what format it outputs, but that's the only one that seems promising.

      You're welcome, and thank you 🙏. I use a Canon EOS T7i for videos in general, and the 3D video was licensed under creative commons (as in the description).

    What‘s the max file size u can transfer or is there no limit?

    • @accessrandom

      As far as I know, there is no size limit (at least until you reach the 32 or 64 GB capacity of your model). I've transferred single files of up to 7 GB. Have you been having problems transferring larger files?

    Hello my friend , i can't seem to do that on oculus quest 2 , (regarding the top and bottom) what ever I do , when i play the video on 360 it plays up and down , if I play it 360 3d , it plays as 360 but very blurry and when I_ use the controller and the video controls show up the blurry is gone , but when the video controls disappear it gets back blurry !! any help with that ?

    • @accessrandom
      @accessrandom  3 года назад

      I'm afraid I don't have a Quest 2 to try it out. You may want to try an app called Skybox, which I've found gives you much more control over the image in 3D mode.

    Do we need to i ject 360 file with metadata

    • @accessrandom
      @accessrandom  3 года назад

      As far as I am aware, it looks at the filename (i.e. 360 or TB or LR at the end of the filename). If metadata can be embedded, I'm not sure which would take precedence.
