Hi, can you please explain the gear shift behavior? It seems to shift between D>P>R, but at times it seemed like you went from D to R directly, without getting the car to P in the middle. Can you explain this mechanism? Thanks

Park is in the middle between D & R. D is on the right and R is on the left. In order to shift from D to R it has to go through P first but the knob is quite sensitive and you can easily turn between each function quickly so it seems like I bypass P.

Hi. When you install the knob, when you close the glove compartment door, does the interior light turn off?
@@amcapa1 When you close the center console compartment door the light inside still be on because it doesn’t close all the way. But the light only use very little energy so I wouldn’t worry about it.

I believe adding this in back of center console is ok someone like me who doesn’t know much. But my questions are.
1-Will adding this alter the car warranty?
2-Will it reduces the car range?

This shouldn’t void the warranty as you don’t really remove or replace OEM part.
This device uses very little energy to power so it won’t affect your range.

Can the faceplate be removed? As I'd want to wrap it to match my center console. While I could vinyl over the whole thing (including the 4 buttons), would be a better/cleaner install if the faceplate could be taken off.
I’m not sure if there is a safe way to take it apart and put it back together and it would work the same way again.
You might be able to wrap it and cut out the knob part.

Hope they can figure out how to get it to sync with the display. They should also add an option to turn off the vibration if there isn’t an option already.
They’re constantly updating software and they mentioned that will try to get more functions to sync with the main display.
You can currently turn off the vibration on the knob.

Are you still able to reach in the storage tray compartment comfortably or will this knob take up too much space
You still can reach down inside the center console storage space normally but of course it won’t be the same as it’s nothing there. It only takes up the space on the top part but your storage space inside still the same.

I’ve preordered the Knob for my Highland Model 3 and am looking forward to making my own video about it. Not thrilled that the main display does not mirror the options chosen on the Knob, but hope that changes really soon with a software update.

I know this is an odd question, and you probably wont respond to it. How do you make the compartment light turn off while the S3XY knob is installed. Because the compartment light stays on if the sliding part doesn't close all the way.

I just checked it right now and it stays on.
I guess I will just leave it stay on as it doesn’t use much energy.
I tried turn off ambient light but it still on.

Is the haptic feedback actually that audible? I've watched a number of videos on the s3xy knob, but I've never heard the haptic feedback before. This video makes it seem very loud.
I think it’s the sound from the vibrations of the knob.
The reason you can it louder in my video because I was in quieter environment than most of the video out there.
Enhance said they will try to improve it and hopefully they can do it via software update.

I have a Model Y, but previously I had a Q50 RS that was stolen from my driveway. Really would love to buy this but my hope is for future models to have a design that prevents stealing this from your car harder. Especially if thieves know the price these units cost.

I'm going to buy a knob. Do you know the indoor light blinking issue that appears in users who have already installed it? How about your knob?
I never have blinking accent light issues on the knob. It gets the power from usb-c port in the center console.

I got the front steering wheel and rear console display unit in my MYL23. Can the commander still be connected to the rear or passenger-side ports, or do I have to disconnect and choose one or the other?
You can connect 2 devices to one OBD port. So you can piggyback with your display.
You just have to manage the cable.
Maybe front passenger side panel 20pin OBD port would have more space to add this commander plug in.

I wish they could change it or at least make it an option that you don't have to push down to make the middle function functional. I would probably prefer to use that as my main volume knob.

If you want to just use it for volume control, on the app set "Auto return to Home" as "Never" for the volume function. The Knob resumes from whatever page you last left it on, so it'll always start from the volume screen and stay on it until you decide to switch.

The enhanced site said to chose the side obd connector if you have other accessory connected to the back mod console.

I prefer to do that if I can as well as I also have a back screen
Yes, you can connect 2 devises to the rear center console OBD port especially something that doesn’t need a lot of power like the commander.

I wish one of the many companies making rear screens would make some sort of touch screen for the center console that could control everything like this knob, but from a touch screen. Perhaps one that replaces the sliding lid…that would be awesome.

Some function updates on the main display but some don’t.

I didn't see it go into neutral with the knob..only D and P. I find D and P on the stalk easy to depress and engage but the N (Neutral) on the car can be aggravating at times....does it go into and out of N?

The reason we are still in pre order is that we are a small company that we build everything by hand. We can produce up to 100 units a day but the demand has been bigger since day 1. And don’t forget that we also make the S3XY Buttons and the Commanders.
But we are expending our factory and hopefully by May it will be up and running so that there will be no more pre order stages after 😊

it seems hard to use the knob if there are drinks in the cup holder.
If you had 2 cups on both holder then would be hard to use but if you only had one cup then should still be able to use it fine.

What for , it's not needed
I made the fan speed a shortcut for my left scroll wheel
I tried to do a few shortcuts on left steering wheel scroll wheel too but I still have to look at screen sometime when I tried to use it.
What I like about this knob is that whatever you program to be middle shortcut you don’t even have to look at the know at all. Be case I can just push the knob to activate that short then turn the knob to adjust it.

Do you know if there are two blue connectors on a 2021 Shanghai modell? One on the back seat and one on the passenger side or does it depend if I have a AMD or Intel processor? Hood review of a great product. But a quick question if you dont mind: is it possible to program a button with the same function on all 3 'pages'? For example wipers on the top left button so regardless of which menu set im in I only have to push that button for my wipers...
I don’t mind at all.
In the review I also explained that you can change from 3 main set menus to 2 or 1.
In this case, instead of duplicating the functions to all 3 set of menu. You can just change to one set of menu only.

this worked great until my wife spilt some coffee and it short circuited and died. location is not great
I think one of the most under rated and under utilized features in a tesla is the voice control. Most of those functions can be done with voice control, and you never have to take your eyes off the road. There are over 100 voice commands in a Tesla. When i say my ass is cold it turns on the my heated seat.
Agree, but in order use voice commands you have to be in a quiet environment which would be very hard when you have many people in the car. You would have to let everyone know that you and them to be quiet because you need to use the voice commands.

This is truly sad; an expensive, luxury EV and you have to BUY the things that come standard in every other EV this writer is aware of! WHY! Tesla Owners WHY? do you do this???
I'm not an owner but I've used one for a while. But I understand that this gadget is unnecessary in a Tesla with it's over 100 voice commands. It's just an accessory for those who don't use vc or those who want controls, screens, and gadgets closer to the hands and even spread out for added convenience like drivers and rear passengers screens. The model 3 and y have minimal interior do dad's because it's not absolutely necessary to properly control the cars features. The easiest way to control everything is using the steering wheel scroll button for voice commands.
