This very video is also the only place I've actually seen both manned turrets and the rear turret being operated at the same time, and you got some nice footage during combat too. Yeah its a military ship switch those two areas. And have a solid ramp that goes upstairs instead of a ladder and the massive food area. Make a smaller food area.
One of my first SC experiences was as a gunner in this ship against a squad of beacon baiters. We took out at least 4 before the rest took off and the most damage we received was a damaged nacelles after someone tried and failed to ram us, destroying themselves in the process. It was a pretty harrowing fight and had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I've wanted to own one ever since and now that its back on the store I'm gonna pick one up. Thank you for your reviews, they've played a huge part in deciding my fleet.
Great review Farrister. I had fun helping crew the ship when you were shooting the footage for this review. We showed the combat capabilities really well in the demo. Thanks for giving us that opportunity to assist you in this. Take care, fly safe, and I'll see you in the verse.
Good job dude, thanks for helping him. This is really the only video I could find with all guns being used at the same time, and with clear footage while in combat too. Such a fantastic and accurate review… I loved it. I love the redeemer and you’re so correct about needing a crew, soloing esp against small ships is pointless as you’ll not be able to stay on target and will need to adopt a “boom and zoom” tactic. Boom and zoom is where you’ll go full speed onto a target, try to alpha it with your first pass, but instead of turn fighting, you put on afterburners and burn your way past your target, then use the distance and time to turn around and repeat until the target is dead… against smaller ships, usually 2 pass is enough, but you’ll need to do it more against the likes of hurricanes and such.
The Redeemer turned out to be a great ship, and I'll happily be a turret gunner for anyone who has need, but I don't see adding one to my fleet. Most of my fleet has a support or industrial purpose - especially as far as multi-crew ships go - and all but one of my combat ships are for one- or two-man crews. Great review, Farrister. Thanks!
thank you for an open upfront review . so the way I see it is like you said if you have friends that you play with a lot then great but if your on your own then dont bother unless you have the funds in game
Many pilots have said that the Redeemer handles its inertia and momentum a lot better than the Constellation does, despite being so similar in handling, meaning you can more precisely and reliably point the nose and change your vector when you want to - but the real clincher is probably the two large shield generators. These don't necessarily allow the Redeemer to ignore incoming fire from other fighters, but they make it practically immune to retaliation from the ground -- and the fact that only one turret is taken out of the occasion for air support means that once they're found, the Novas, Ballistas, Spartans, and Cyclones of the world are all sitting ducks. To me, though, the interior of the Redeemer just feels wrong. Having the jump seats in the upper area means that short-term passengers have to travel through the habitation area, potentially getting in the way of crew, to get to their seats - and crew potentially have to manage their way past passengers to get to their stations. I know there's a logic behind it, keeping all the off-duty living area stuff together, and all that stuff wouldn't remotely fit up top because of the turrets' placement, though, so it's only really an aesthetic problem, but I buy ships on aesthetics a lot of the time. Last note: While the 2 SCU might not be useful for trading, it offers a specific place to put mission boxes or loot items, so they don't clutter the rest of the living space.
Great review Farrister! Your videos have helped put ships in the light for people who both Own or plan to purchase the game. Personally this video stood out to me the most. Because both before and after game purchase. I have had this ship in my sight for a long time. Now that its finally released into game. Your video has helped seal the deal in the purchase of this ship. And I love every bit of it. Though yes the Redeemer shines with a crew. I personally have not had much problem flying solo on days my friends are offline. For me its more of a switch between offense and defense. When flying solo, the ship like you mentioned. is a semi truck in reference to defense. which gives me plenty of time to asses the situation, and choose my fights accordingly with plenty of time to spare if I need to Quantum out of sight with more then enough fuel to even outlast the small ships who want to chase and stay within blind spots. That being said its also been quite useful for bunker missions that are planet side. The large Nutcracker engines pumping out enough power to have the weight of the ship always stay in flight without gravity pull that larger ships struggle with without VTOL. Lastly, though the Cargo slots for the Redeemer yes are too small for trade or delivery missions. just having them are big enough, to allow myself free rain over raiding bunkers of there weapons and armor from Pirates, or Nine Tails bodies and supply chests. Giving me a good opportunity to not only make money from the mission itself. But through weapons and gear sales when returning to station for a refuel and reload of the Redeemer. Love your video's. And Love this Ship!
The layout of the ship is strange. Drop seats are on the upper deck, which means people in full combat armor have to crawl the ladder one by one. And entering the ship thru living area is also weird. It seems appropriate to have living quarters at the back of upper deck and drop seats and components at the entrance instead.
The layout of 5 crew members but only 4 needed to fly/man guns makes sense. The 5th crew member could be dedicated to engineering able to repair/swap out components as they get damaged.
I also got my first IDRIS assisted kill last night. Good times! I was in my cutlass. I was in a wing with an Eclipse, Redeemer, and Aries Inferno, my job was to kill all escort craft while the rest engaged the IDRIS. I killed the escorts quickly and got to join in the fun! It was hilarious levels of overkill.
It's a really good ship if you have a crew. Then again, you can probably find gunners for it if you ask in local because it's such a good ship. Definitely looking forward to using mine in XT.
Another great review and video Farrister, thank you. I rented the Redeemer during IAE and absolutely love it, but as a primarily solo player I'll be buying back the Connie Andromeda for all the reasons you summarised so well at the end.
Right now the Redeemer is my go-to ship in the PU when I'm not alone and I think it will keep that place for a long time. It's my Space-Hind(helicopter). When both gatling turrets fire I have very strong "The Expanse" vibes and I love it. 😁
I'm using it a lot solo too. Love it for doing bunkers and other things where I might meet someone unpleasant. It's very survivable and tank like which helps. I wish I knew more people to get those guns going on it but for now it's replaced the Cutty for me as my "when I'm not trading" ship.
Excellent review. Thanks for the video, Farrister! I am looking forward to buying this ship in game for some great, group combat. I missed out on renting one during the IAE.
Great video as always! I've bought it and I have to say it's a beast. Immediately swapped everything for Panther, Rhino and Galdereen repeaters. Also slapped an XL-1 on it and now I'm in a process of gathering money for a Durango power plant as this is the last upgrade that makes sense in terms of cost-to-gain ratio. Coolers and shields are good as they are and you'd have to spend around 850 000 aUEC for minimal gains (around 10%) which in my opinion is not viable unless you swim in aUEC.
Pretty spot on review. I love my Redeemer, mostly because in PVE MRT and lower contracts, it's basically immune to all but kamikaze fighters. Even then, it usually only knocks off a tail wing and doesn't need to retreat. I wholeheartedly agree that the 2 SCU of cargo is comical. I really wish that CIG would turn that 2 SCU into additional ammunition storage for the ballistics. I swapped all but the bottom turret of mine to Laser Cannons. I can run missions unit I run out of hydrogen fuel.
This ship Substituted my warden. I do play more solo, but in the end the redeemer won because of... buttons. Yes. Those pads and little switches that open and colse stuff? Warden was a pain to use, even to just close the ramp from either inside or outside! It's a good ship but that nonsense of beining in the right position to just open the warden really got to me! All your statements are fair and I absolutely agree with them. I did swap the pilots balistics to rhinos and one balistic turret to a laser one. I love this ship. Not as much as the nomad, but close. :-D
This is the ship I finally ended up on with my first big CCU chain (Titan->Gladius->Connie->Vanguard->Redeemer) and I think I'll stop here instead of moving on to the 600i. Absolutly love it, almost always can find someone to man those dual S5 laser cannons to knock out some quick group ERTs. Also great to do High Threat beacons on this with a third mate on deck, though critical threat might just be a bit too much for it solo. And those shields omg.
Was looking forward to your review of this. $10 plus the Mole will buy it I think. I have a Prospector that I use as my moneymaker, but seldom use the Mole.
Another great video Farrister! This ship has a ton of strong points, just not cargo, but it's probably the best suited for traveling through some more "dangerous" areas with a smaller crew. Considering Pyro is going to be more lawless than Stanton traveling in a smaller ship will prove more and more dangerous. This thing packs quite a lot of power and shields for its size. I'm also curious how it will perform with NPC/shard crew. We shall see
They need to rework it. Weapons racks and drop seats should be near the back exit. Beds near cockpit. They need to switch those things to their fitting deck.
I like to imagine that the seats up top are for the off duty crew, so instead of being actual dropseats they are just a spot for relaxing off duty and chatting with your other crewmates as this ship is far too small for an actual mess.
I used to have this but then I read about how its going to run hot and be very easily caught on scanners from a distance. I decided I wanted to be a bit stealthier. This is a handy ship during war though I bet.
That's a great thing to say - acknowledging that this is a powerful ship, but that your preferences will lie in a different style. That's what I love about Star Citizen
today I'm in love with the redeemer. 😅 As soon as this game gets to consoles and you can hire NPC crew mates 😅. yup it's me again. Guy without a PC😂. Awesome video my man. Keep it up.
now ive never noticed this before, but how do we get the damaged size 2 or 3 component down the ladder and out of the ship? and how do you get the new components back up? clearly CIG have not considered this. they will need to enlarge the ladder area for a retailator style lift like in the retaliator rework where they had to enlarge the doors and corridors for the size 3 shields and enlarge the lift
Great review! Maybe you could consider doing an upgrade guide on different components/size, just highlighting some of the good ones for x,y or z? I love the redeemer, and if I had money or friends, I would get one, but since I have neither I won't xD
I'm thinking of upgrading my taurus to it just because i find it to be very pretty (even if taurus is a great all rounder for a solo player like me), this ship had me pondering for a few months now lol
@@NothingwrongwithmeitsaYOU I might. I wish it had better pilot guns but i guess that'd make it a little overkill, or maybe some variant which had better pilot guns in exchange for slightly worse turrets, as i mentioned i'm a solo player and i have little to no reason (other than its looks ofc) to upgrade from taurus, as it already gets the job done really well.
i think its space break is great if you have boost enabled for breaks you can pull around 8.4gs of retrograde thrust and that similar to a star runner :D great video tho i love my redeemer
There's nothing wrong with the Crossfield quantum drive. If you're traveling the furthest you can across Stanton it will take you an extra 30 or 40 seconds compared to the XL1. And the furthest trip with the XL1 is like 4.5 minutes. So depending on your aUEC and ship's fuel tank size, the Crossfield a fine combination of speed, fuel efficiency and cost. (It's like two-thirds the cost of the XL1.) 👍
They should have reversed the deck designs, habitat on upper deck and troop deployment on lower, kind of silly to have you troopers exit from an upper deck to lower... Ship is beast though! Great video!
One advise for Redeemer Novices, Replace the Pilot guns and remote turrets with Atrittions or CF style repeaters and put Omnisky,s or M7A,s in the main guns to delete the ammo needs of balliastics the Hydrofuel tanks and quantum fuel tanks are much bigger then the ammo load of the ballistic guns can hold, so ya can string alot of ERT missions together with 3 crew :) Also from size 5 and up Lazer cannons give more DPS somehow, compared to Lazer repeaters 🤷♀️
So I let my little girl play and customize my character. She made my character female with the objective to make her as "Cute" as possible. She also selected the color of my new set of amour. Lots of pink and baby blue with a yellow jumpsuit underneath. I don't have the heart to change any of this, and I'm more determined to survive all encounters. I let her wander around the stations and cities when I'm in game. I'm letting her learn how to fly on "Free Flight" Mode. She wants to change my cutlass to pink and purple if that's even possible. She loves the "Train Rides" on Micro-tech.
@@Farrister In my language there is a distinction between a boat (like a Torpedoboat) that hasn't the the space to take on the personell or the fuel to sustain long range and long time missions away from support and bigger ships. But maybe boat and ship are used for the same thing in english? Hence my question.
People are worried about pay to win. In Star Citizen, money isn't power, people are. One man in an expensive ship is just an expensive target. But a crew manning ships like these can dominate. Right now, even a bunch of starter ships can take out massive ships. You can earn plenty of money as a lone wolf but if you want real power than you want to work with people. Friends, family, org mates or even employees. Even buying the big ships is very quick if people work together. Real power lies with the people. Power to the people!
Could the storage be for a Titan suit? And the rear tail be adaptable with a magnetic lock to carry ground vehicle like the pelican in halo? And why are the drop seats in the top being limited by a ladder to deploy. Could just be they are for carrying the crew when they are not in their turrets but still questionable. Thoughts?
Soooo...my question is, since I tend to solo any and all of my ships, including most of my multi-crew ships (Andromeda, Freelancer, Cutty, etc) would keeping this ship be worth it, since you mentioned that without having at least another person with me I would be missing a ton of firepower.
In my opinion, probably not. There are better solo ships out there (in my opinion). There may be some people who think that they can replace the function of those turrets with AI/blades/NPC - I'd say that's far from clear at the moment, and until it's in-game or not, would be reluctant to rely on it.
Perfect ship for a small group of freinds trying to run a mercenary/FPS org. if you want to bring 1 ship and some freinds to bunker missions it doesnt get much more efficient than this. judge this ship based on it's ability to move marines from A to B, kill everything on the ground and then confidently cover the operation from above
8:08, i disagree. I think that 2 cargo is perfect for drug smuggling. though really the F7C-S Ghost is probably the absolute best drug smuggler when equipped with the cargo box centerpiece (that or the C8X Pisces Expe). also, i bought a non-LTI Arrow when i was brand new to the game and I just discovered the Redeemer comes with an Arrow as a loaner. i think that settles it: i'm melting my Arrow and getting the Redeemer
@@Farrister this and the Freelancer Dur gives me Matrix Vibes. I'm currently watching all your ship videos through to figure out what 4-5 crew ship I might want in the future. I'm about 3 weeks into playing star citizen n I have been loving it. For starter I went for the Avenger Titan when it was $65.
I am debating on upgrading my MSR to the redeemer since the warbond upgrade is only like 15$ right now. I have the loaners for the Railen so cargo running isn't an issue but bounty hunting and holding my own is a bit dicey. Is this ship worth the 15$ to go from the Millennium Falcon to the Skipray Blast Boat? Ghaaaa when I put it that way......No joke my cursor is hovering over that buy button right now.....
I think my honest view is it depends if you plan to fly with other people. The MSR is much better soloable (with multi-crew options), imo the Redeemer relies on multicrew
You know, there will be ammo types, Proximity fuse flak for the turret's? .. ye this beast will be a lumbering armoured deathmashine.. And i got one! edit: A point for a solo player .. Eventualy you CAN hire a npc gunner for bothe your turrets, but this will be far far off yet. Blades AI however might be viable to when that comes around, but maybe just for one turret, as the cpu power is low.
I think the options for a solo player are so far off, as you say, that I wouldn't rely on them. I always try to talk about what we can currently see, rather than what "might" happen. But yeah, would love to see flak ammo, especially for Hammerhead xD
@@Farrister For Example; Once physical cargo becomes a thing hopefully we can retrieve packaged food or water from them. Also depending how we repair components and make them operational again after malfunctioning. We possibly can carry those supplies in the 2scu grid. I’m sure it’ll be a longer while before all of that. 😅✨
Unclear. There have been lots of dev comments that say yes, but I also imagine that it could be problematic. So until I see it and what form it takes, I'll be cagey lol
solo isnt bad for pve bounties what you lack in firepower makes up for in shields against npcs. so far i mainly use it to kill griefers with crime stats and its not hard to crew up with randos when theres a team of "pirates" in the server causing problems for people who have nothing but light fighters and trade ships
I managed to turn my 400i into a decent combat ship but there's no way it could go toe to toe with a Redeemer even if the Redeemer only had one player and the 400i had three people. That would be like a trout taking on a injured great white.
so I want a ship for me and one buddy. might have a 3rd once i learn to make friends. I had settled on a Vanguard for us to make some pirate type money. i had not thought about the redeemer because it seems it needs more crew and when i walked around it at the convention it seemed clumsy to move around. that said the price is the same?!?! Doesn’t the redeemer just pack far more of a punch for the same price ?
has anyone thought that the component are to big to be brought inside the ship!!?? where are you suppose to move them in!? that tight ladder!!?? have you seen the size of the component!!? there is just no way to move it in!!! how while it be done once we have to move everything ourselve inside!!??
Good review as always Farrister. For some reason this ship just does not appeal to me. Maybe with time it will, however I am running out of room in My hanger lol
Like ... WHY... I do get that ships have "internal" storage, as a vehicle of sorts should. But why tf do you need this gimmick or weapon racks, toilet, shower, sleaping beds etc ... Its a fkn SPACE SHIP, not a space camper van. Any how, why would anyone store anything of value in these ships .... Oh my bad i forgot theres gravity, because physics.
It makes absolutely zero sense for the jumpseats to be upstairs. Imagine cueing up at the ladder with your squadmates waiting to leave the ship. Seems so silly.
I love the ship's function and capability but absolutely loathe the design. I would have picked one up for sure if it's weren't for those obnoxious and nonsensical nutcracker nacelles.
This is a cool ship, but I think I'd like this ship even more more if, first, they moved the crew deck and all of it's cool furnishings to the top level and made the bottom a proper cargo bay with jumpseats, so it can function as it's originally intended role of Gunship/Dropship hybrid, and second, removed the Crab claw engines and replaced them with more conventional looking Engine pods, I know that's a controversial change because of how iconic to it's design the Claws are, but I just do not like them.
well, if ya don't like the crab engines, don't fly it, there will be many more ships with, with the same functionality as the Redeemer gun ship, I do Agree however, they better swap the crew and drop ship compartments, as its a very weird and not very used lay-out. that's the beautiful thing about SC, ya can fly any ship ya want , if it ain,t ur taste , don't fly it :)
@@dbeerewout well it's not a huge deal breaker, and the overall design is cool as hell, I especially love the cockpit design and the turret layout, and the crew quarters. I just find the claw engines a bit weird, and part of my mind keeps pulling them off and adding rounded tilt-jet engine nacelles with stubby wing canards on the ends, making it look like a cousin to the Pelican Dropship from Halo.

Amateur designers
Honestly a way to maybe nerf it 🤣
If it’s a drop ship, it should be temporary transport, so why the beds in the first place? At most sleep on the floor for a few hours, right?
Yeah its a military ship switch those two areas. And have a solid ramp that goes upstairs instead of a ladder and the massive food area. Make a smaller food area.

If there was a truly nerf-worthy ship, it would be this one. Utterly overpowered.

Coolers and shields are good as they are and you'd have to spend around 850 000 aUEC for minimal gains (around 10%) which in my opinion is not viable unless you swim in aUEC.
Very nice!
That would be an incredible change to make!
Very unique. A little Aliens Dropship vibe at the rear but this is very different. I like.
Yeah, it's something a bit different :)
Yes, I do. :) Multiple Redeemers!
Yes you do
This ship Substituted my warden.
With NPC crew you will be able to play solo in this thing, or at least you wont need as many players on board.
@@brandonporter6223 that's true. also i like the idea of server blades, have the ai control it. or focus on a target.
Thanks Nils :)
I'm going out of my mind! I love this ship! xD
Oh good!!
Wow, what an upgrade path!
Flew it once and had to buy it IRL. My favourite solo daily driver.
Interesting ship. Hopefully future events like Xeno threat will let this ship shine.
It would do very well in Xenothreat, I think!
Was looking forward to your review of this. $10 plus the Mole will buy it I think. I have a Prospector that I use as my moneymaker, but seldom use the Mole.
Hope you enjoy!
We shall see
be videos by Farrister make me more happy than they should, but I love watching his vehicle reviews
Thank you!
10/10 Review 👍🏻
For me.... She is the Queen. Mother of the BF2142 Gunship!
Great video!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
They need to rework it. Weapons racks and drop seats should be near the back exit. Beds near cockpit. They need to switch those things to their fitting deck.
The weirdest bit is it's already been reworked once!
I like to imagine that the seats up top are for the off duty crew, so instead of being actual dropseats they are just a spot for relaxing off duty and chatting with your other crewmates as this ship is far too small for an actual mess.
Just a hangout space for playing cards... :D
Keep it up.
Thanks Greg!
now ive never noticed this before, but how do we get the damaged size 2 or 3 component down the ladder and out of the ship? and how do you get the new components back up? clearly CIG have not considered this. they will need to enlarge the ladder area for a retailator style lift like in the retaliator rework where they had to enlarge the doors and corridors for the size 3 shields and enlarge the lift
It's a good point! Unless there will be external 'refit' doors for each component?
Great review! Maybe you could consider doing an upgrade guide on different components/size, just highlighting some of the good ones for x,y or z?
I love the redeemer, and if I had money or friends, I would get one, but since I have neither I won't xD
Will consider it :)
The Redeemer is and will be my favorite ship. It looks so cool! IMO.
I'm thinking of upgrading my taurus to it just because i find it to be very pretty (even if taurus is a great all rounder for a solo player like me), this ship had me pondering for a few months now lol
@@5XXFelipe Dew it.
Until you run out of boost! But yes :)
If I had gunners this would be my main ship. Looks like a ship from R-Type
With gunners, it's super powerful!
Replace the size 5 turrets with laser cannons and the cost to run is dramatically lowered and she MELTS enemies
Ooooh will have to give that a try :)
How the hell
Are we supposed to change components on this after 3.19 lol can’t even get them in and out of the ship the way it’s lay out is
Not sure :(
There's nothing wrong with the Crossfield quantum drive.
Agree in principle, hence later on my list! But why wait that extra 30s if you don't have to? xD
They should have reversed the deck designs, habitat on upper deck and troop deployment on lower, kind of silly to have you troopers exit from an upper deck to lower... Ship is beast though! Great video!
Absolutely agree lol, and thank you :)
Given how the size and firepower of this ship, 2 size 3 shield seems a bit ridiculous, with enough crew this ship has no weakness.
Honstly, the original Design begore the rework was more dropship like tgan this
It was, yeah
One advise for Redeemer Novices, Replace the Pilot guns and remote turrets with Atrittions or CF style repeaters and put Omnisky,s or M7A,s in the main guns to delete the ammo needs of balliastics
the Hydrofuel tanks and quantum fuel tanks are much bigger then the ammo load of the ballistic guns can hold, so ya can string alot of ERT missions together with 3 crew :)
Also from size 5 and up Lazer cannons give more DPS somehow, compared to Lazer repeaters 🤷♀️
Yup, if you're looking to min-max your hourly income that's definitely a good suggestion!
Haha
D A K K A
this is brought to you by the Redeemer owner's association.
brbrrbrrrrrr
Isn‘t the Redeemer a Gunboat rather than a Gunship? And the RSI Perseus is a Gunship?
Ooooh - tell me more? Interested to know the difference!
@@Farrister In my language there is a distinction between a boat (like a Torpedoboat) that hasn't the the space to take on the personell or the fuel to sustain long range and long time missions away from support and bigger ships. But maybe boat and ship are used for the same thing in english? Hence my question.
@@fauli75 interesting! There are some naval distinctions, but I was referring to gunship more as in aviation (eg helicopter gunship)
@@Farrister ah…didn‘t know that. You learn something new every day ;)
So a few years later now, the 2 scu cargo perhaps good for more ammo?
People are worried about pay to win. In Star Citizen, money isn't power, people are. One man in an expensive ship is just an expensive target. But a crew manning ships like these can dominate. Right now, even a bunch of starter ships can take out massive ships.
You can earn plenty of money as a lone wolf but if you want real power than you want to work with people. Friends, family, org mates or even employees. Even buying the big ships is very quick if people work together. Real power lies with the people. Power to the people!
I really hope it stays that way!
i cant get past those staplers, I mean nutcrackers, I mean hair straightener engines. I hate them lol
Thoughts?
Could argue storage is for components but then again the ladder is in the way for easy swapping.
Perhaps!
I believe the storage is for ammo reloads once that is possible.
Thanks for your opinion on the matter, I greatly appreciate it
Perfect ship for a small group of freinds trying to run a mercenary/FPS org. if you want to bring 1 ship and some freinds to bunker missions it doesnt get much more efficient than this. judge this ship based on it's ability to move marines from A to B, kill everything on the ground and then confidently cover the operation from above
Oooh yeah!
i just read ur comments, there are other youtubers who make ship reviews ???!!?!
:D
Haha
8:08, i disagree. I think that 2 cargo is perfect for drug smuggling. though really the F7C-S Ghost is probably the absolute best drug smuggler when equipped with the cargo box centerpiece (that or the C8X Pisces Expe).
also, i bought a non-LTI Arrow when i was brand new to the game and I just discovered the Redeemer comes with an Arrow as a loaner. i think that settles it: i'm melting my Arrow and getting the Redeemer
Well fair enough I suppose! I never really got into drug smuggling - too well behaved :D
Oh that's why I have a "Arrow - 2" in my hangar... Why do they loan it?
Kinda reminds me of the ships from the Matrix
Oh yeah, it does have that kind of feel! The hovercraft things
I want ice cream to melt in game
Priority feature :D
Still kinda disappointed that it’s not a true drop ship now. Be great if it was modular to get rid of living area for the drop section.
And replace with ammo storage :D
Are Ai gunners available in the verse?
Not really at the moment, no
You know, there will be ammo types, Proximity fuse flak for the turret's? .. ye this beast will be a lumbering armoured deathmashine..
Do one of these for the raft please. I purchased it but i deletes the game until a later patch
Hope to get around to it at some point, but it's only just released - I need to fly ships for a little time before I can review!
The SCU is for food and supplies.
As separate from the onboard inventory?
@@Farrister For Example; Once physical cargo becomes a thing hopefully we can retrieve packaged food or water from them. Also depending how we repair components and make them operational again after malfunctioning. We possibly can carry those supplies in the 2scu grid. I’m sure it’ll be a longer while before all of that. 😅✨
@@Farrister I’d like to think of the scu as included to the overall ships inventory.
You will be able to have AI crew in the future right?
It's definitely not impossible to fly solo, but you leave a lot of performance on the table by doing so
Where can one buy this ship?
New Deal - Lorville/Hurston
I managed to turn my 400i into a decent combat ship but there's no way it could go toe to toe with a Redeemer even if the Redeemer only had one player and the 400i had three people. That would be like a trout taking on a injured great white.
you might be able to outmanouver the redeemer, takes so long to turn. solo, he might not even be able to shoot you.
Haha yup!
so I want a ship for me and one buddy. might have a 3rd once i learn to make friends.
Yes it does, but it's also more reliant on being crewed out. I also wouldn't be surprised if the price diverged a little in the future
@@Farrister if the layout was as fluid as the Vanguard it would be a no brainer
If i want to get lasers instead of ballistics, what would you recommend instead of the C788 CANNONs on the side?
Rhino,s,, no questions asked, they are reliable and have lots of ammo in the capacitor for fixed weapons
Agree, Rhinos!
What's the in game auec cost?
Just over 8.5m aUEC
has anyone thought that the component are to big to be brought inside the ship!!?? where are you suppose to move them in!? that tight ladder!!?? have you seen the size of the component!!? there is just no way to move it in!!!
how while it be done once we have to move everything ourselve inside!!??
So strange - I just read a very similar comment to this at the weekend!
My Redeemer won't fire two of the weapons
The turret weapons?
Good review as always Farrister. For some reason this ship just does not appeal to me. Maybe with time it will, however I am running out of room in My hanger lol
Yup, for me too! I respect it, but not my style
Worth the Weight
Haha I see what you did there
Are the beds escape pods?
Yes - they are labelled as such on the exterior of the ship
But inoperative at the moment, you can just sleep there
Kind of looks like a pelican Dropship from Halo
It does a bit!
i want one!
Yours today, for only [add price]
What a weird layout for a "gun-dropship" the old layout made a lot more sense... it wasnt great but it made more sense
Yeah...
Like ...
Oh my bad i forgot theres gravity, because physics.
haha
the engines are for cracking space crab claws, duh
Haha yeah
It makes absolutely zero sense for the jumpseats to be upstairs. Imagine cueing up at the ladder with your squadmates waiting to leave the ship. Seems so silly.
Yeah it seems unusual!
@@Farrister I still love the look of the ship, if I can cope with the interior of the MSR then I'm sure I can cope with this one :D
I love the ship's function and capability but absolutely loathe the design. I would have picked one up for sure if it's weren't for those obnoxious and nonsensical nutcracker nacelles.
Haha yup!
Functionally it's an absolute beast. Aesthetically it's a good reminder of why CIG should probably never let the community design a ship again.
The design of this ship seems upside down.
Agreed!!
I see, i didn't leave a comment.
Nice ship! Needs bathtub tho
🛀
xD
put attritions on it and go bounty hunting
Who puts a main entrance through the sleeping courters.lol. They must call it the nutcracker ship.lol. I rate is 0 out of 10
Oof, rough rating xD
Nothing wrong with sharing the things you'd like to see changed :)
2014?? Hahaha took only 7 years..
xD
