More than halfway through its "Saudi Vision 2030" journey, Saudi Arabia has demonstrated notable progress, with 87% of the 1,064 initiatives either completed or advancing as planned.
That's one explanation, another one may be that MBS is stuffing the pockets of likeminded influential Saudi families by granting them the lucrative contracts for these concept projects that'll be forgotten by 2030. But what won't be forgotten is MBS generosity as he further solidifies control of Saudi Arabia and implements the reforms he wants without any pushback from the weakened enemies and non-allies. Might sound a bit conspiratorial, but considering Saudi Arabia is an autocratic regime with 0 transparency, my explanation is as possible as the one in the video. You just got to follow the money.
Why can't mbs just give them these money without those contract? it's not like the saudi citizens would know what is happening with the country's money. Also, most of these contracts are signed with international business and companies, not saudi ones.
@@just_fares6230 I'd figure that would be too obvious and raise resistance from families who aren't friendly to him. The Saudi citizens aren't a factor in all of this, it's the elites fighting with each other and vying for power. In Democratic regimes it's all generally much more visible, but in autocratic regimes like Saudi Arabia and Russia, for example, much is hidden from the public eye. MBS isn't all powerful and he's not yet officially the leader of SA, and even when he will be, there will still be dozens of other princes and influential families vying for influence and control. I tried to find more information about the ratio of foreign vs. domestic contracts awarded but couldn't find them, do you have sources for that? I wouldn't say my explanation is the only one. Actually, both may be true at the same time, but I'm doubtful that it's only just an effort to modernize SA. I also don't believe many of these mega-projects, in SA or in the region at large, are just the result of megalomania of their leaders, there's more to it.
I lived in Saudi Arabia when I was sevenfor a year with my parents away from the UK it was amazing experience I don’t remember much of it but I do remember being invited as a special guest to one of the princes weekend lunches at the Palace. White people get a special treatment in the gulf I'm Kuwaiti and my mother is Swiss and has been living in Kuwait since 1984 and absolutely loves it because she claims she's been treated very well and was welcomed by everyone I keep reminding her that it's because she's European and not because the people are generally nice These proclaimed "nice and welcoming" people treats other ethnicities like they're nothing Ask any average Egyptian or Indian living in Kuwait on how Kuwaitis treat them, if they're not afraid to say the truth they'll tell you that often times they're treated horribly
Where will all the worker bees come from? I have never been to Saudi Arabia, but my understanding is that a lot of the mechanics, electricians, ironworkers, medical staffing, etc tend to be from outside Saudi Arabia, and work under contract, and must leave for a period of time every year to avoid qualifying for very lucrative government benefits. Would there be dormitories for these folks provided outside Neom? Just curious how the elites and support trades would be integrated in such a city.
How can a slave benefit from government money? They deag the dead out into the desert and get some more. A working visa doesn't make you a resident, no matter how long you stay

Utopian cities never get built, because The People don't want them. If someone wanted to live in an indoor city in the middle of the desert, someone would have at least built 1 city block out there, just to try it. The fact that no private industry would do it with their own money says something, but then again, since Saudi Arabia has WAY more money than sense, they might throw a lot of it away on this.
That's too simplistic... many of your favorite private projects wouldn't have happened without huge public subsidies. They often don't mention those, because welfare for the wealthy can be controversial. Less controversial than welfare for the poorest people, but still a touchy subject.
@@GizzyDillespee I like some private projects, but I wouldn't support any public subsidies for them. Almost every large business that builds a large factory gets some kind of hand out, and if I could stop it I would, but I can't.

More than halfway through its "Saudi Vision 2030" journey, Saudi Arabia has demonstrated notable progress, with 87% of the 1,064 initiatives either completed or advancing as planned.
Trust me, KSA is the future ❤❤ I live here and I can tell you, it is astonishing ❤❤
I was thinking the whole time, that coutry is 80% sun scorched wasteland. Why not solar energy?
I lived in Saudi Arabia when I was sevenfor a year with my parents away from the UK it was amazing experience I don’t remember much of it but I do remember being invited as a special guest to one of the princes weekend lunches at the Palace. My father who was ex-Navy was also the chief engineer in one of the oil industries so we got special treatment.
White people get a special treatment in the gulf
I'm Kuwaiti and my mother is Swiss and has been living in Kuwait since 1984 and absolutely loves it because she claims she's been treated very well and was welcomed by everyone
I keep reminding her that it's because she's European and not because the people are generally nice
These proclaimed "nice and welcoming" people treats other ethnicities like they're nothing
Ask any average Egyptian or Indian living in Kuwait on how Kuwaitis treat them, if they're not afraid to say the truth they'll tell you that often times they're treated horribly
The idea came from a big fat LINE, some good weed and lots of goat milk’🤣
The project is ongoing... a lots of workers outside Saudi Arabia like Pakistan, Bangladesh, Yemeni, Indian, Filipino, Erithrean, Sudan and other country i didn't mention are coming every now and then... they are planning to plant 1 million mountain trees in the whole kingdom of Saudi Arabia specially in the dessert area where the NEON CITY is build. Their NEW RAILWAY PROJECT is done and is on test driving around the kingdom for their NEW TRAIN and NEW BUS for chip fare is now working 😍
It is impossible for some other critics but nothing is impossible for this wolrd. Let us just discover their project to be done 😁

What will they do when the oil runs out? Sand and sand.
What did Dubai do? Exactly.
