Spent some time earlier this month in Sequoia! Overall had a really good time for quick getaway thats close to LA. Partnered with a cool company called Lens Distortions on this one, check them out. Been using their products for a while now - lensdistortion... made two tutorials centered around some of the VFX and SFX I use. Hope you guys find some value in it!

Love that message of not having to go somewhere crazy to create something. I think I use that as an excuse myself sometimes. I'm definitely going to try to explore more of what's close around me to share with others. One thing I think we all need to keep in mind is: *What's normal and boring to you, might be new and exciting to someone else.* Keep on killing it Matt

Thank you so much for that man! I've made it a point lately to make sure I actually say something of substance on all forms of social media. Loved the idea of possibly creating dialogue and getting people thinking or actually responding since (like Matt said above) we all have a unique voice/point of view to share. I wanted to make sure I was actually social on social media haha

Man, I discovered you at the same time than Nainoa Langer and Jr. Alli a bit more than 1 year ago, and you completely changed my life. I'm doing videos ever since then and I'm starting to live my life with it, and life has been completely amazing since this huge mental change. So true about exploring what's nearby. There's so much to do here in Utah within an hour or two, like the salt flats, mountains, SLC, ski resorts, etc. This video is so stunning. I haven't had the chance to watch many of your videos before, but your style is amazing.

6th time I'm watching this. Every time, figuring out the audio/visual, how you go about generating atmosphere. Just watched the lens distortion tutorial as well. Amazing. Those layer stacks were mind-boggling. Way to go MATT!!!!!!!! 🔥

What you said is spot on. Many people, including travel vloggers, seem to think that "traveling" means going to faraway places. However, we live such a huge and diverse country and the travel opportunities within the US are endless. I feel like I can drive to so many epic places (although some drives are longer than others). Great video - beautiful cinematography.

This video inspired me sooo much. I spend so much time analyzing your videos along w Jordan Taylor’s and others and there is just so much out there. This video really inspired me to just go out there and do what you can. It really motivated me to keep on chasing the life of film. I make travel vlogs with my family, and ya, sometimes we go somewhere cool and it's inspiring to both myself and hopefully viewers (which in turns makes me create more), but yes...it's just as fun to go out and do little camping/hiking adventures near our home (which I will also make vlogs from). Not only is it financially feasible, it's just great to get outdoors. Get away from your screens, get some fresh air, and get inspired by being out in nature!
