  • For over half a century, scientists have been studying the soils of the
Rio Grande River Valley, one of the first desert river valleys to ever be
decoded. The knowledge and techniques developed there are used by
researchers all over the world as a basis for understanding other
    desert soils and landscapes.

These are my absolute favorite kinds of documentaries, they’re really detailed and informative. The plants and geology of the Rio Grande interests me so much. I really appreciate these great videos! I wish we still made amazing documentaries like this.

Knowledge builds on knowledge indeed. This production is well done for it's time, but the information is timeless. Writing this in 2023 Good job NMSU from a 65 yr old Texan who still wants to know more and why!

I think volcanic activity causes more clime change than people. The Sahara desert used to have trees and forests and there were no people burning fossil fuels then.
