I’m tired of the negative reviews of the iPhone 16 pro series, nobody is asking you tech reviews to upgrade every single year you upgrade every single year just so you could make more content on the new phones. We are at the point with smart phones have peaked there is not gonna be as much innovation anymore, I love my 16 pro Max. Yes I’m not a fan of the camera button people are complaining for the sake of completed and it just goes to show if you’re upgraded every year, then the changes are going to be very minimal.
Went from a 12 to 16 Pro... Honestly not overly impressed so far. The battery life isn't blowing me away like it seems to be with reviewers. The camera is fantastic though, and 120 Hz screen feels good, but as much as I thought I needed the fast refresh, I don't think I do. Other than that, the only real benefit is that it's super fast. Navigating through apps and Face ID feel very snappy. One major con is that the phone is top heavy, and the case selection is GARBAGE right now. Also, camera control is a total gimmick.
I have the same moft case and accessories that his wife has in that review. They are great. What she has on her phone right now is the tripod. You should try those out. I would honestly think from a 12 to a 16 would be a much bigger difference, but it depends on your used case. I did not upgrade from my 15 pro because of these guys so I’m gonna wait till next year
So the new model is the worst update in years? Give me a break. You think that every model has to look and feel different from the previous model or else it’s crap. The only people that buy new iPhones every year are RUclipsrs and rich folks that just have to have the latest models. And guess what, you guys are going to buy them anyways. Actually RUclipsrs order several models, complain about them, and just return them anyway. The majority of your viewers buy a new model every few years so the new ones are different from their last ones. Personally, I love last year’s model so I’ll be happy to buy a 16 max and give my 15 max to my kid. If you thought last year’s model looked great, why complain about the new ones looking similar. I’m glad you guys aren’t running Apple. If Apple had to make major changes to their phones every year, they would cost much more and there would be way more pissed off consumers because Apple was mucking with a good thing. Change for the sake of change is kinda dumb.
Tbh. I was just fine with the 13 pro. I was more excited about the iOS 18 upgrades than the phone upgrade itself. I am still excited about the AI features that I would have not otherwise have gotten with the 13 pro, but I do feel it is more of the same. And I am glad I am not the only one that thought the camera button was put in the wrong spot! It’s honestly a useless feature in my opinion. It is easier just to use the volume rocker, or use the on screen buttons.
If you got the money to burn, or there’s something wrong with your phone (broken, battery not lasting, etc) then I would say it’s definitely worth upgrading. Otherwise, I would just hold onto it for another year. It doesn’t seem like most of the AI features are coming out until next year anyway.
That 16 pro max sucks haha went back to android! That phone automatically shuts off randomly, refresh rate feels like 60 hz, RUclips kept freezing, my files freezes also, I dont like 16 at all to me it's a downgrade 100% I'll stick with my s23 ultra upgrading to the s25 ultra when it comes out
@@solar75wind I use battery and camera the most, don't need ai and 4k 120 fps. but battery life is something dynamic and people said the 16 is the new 13 in terms of battery life so that's mainly why I debate on this, but people say the 17 will have many more changes and usually the odd numbered phones offer more changes and are better and more popular overall.
The problem with all these tech reviewers disappointed in the 16 pro is because they are comparing to the 15 pro. Most iPhone users are on a 13 or older. These phones are meant to last years, and even Apple isn’t expecting people to upgrade every single year.
@@shameermulji yeah I heard the rumors, but I shattered the back glass of my 13 Pro… now I don’t want to buy a pro and the regular 16 doesn’t have 120 😭
I have been upgrading the iPhone pros for years. This is the best upgrade yet. Love the camera control. I am very pleased. The screen looks great. Everything is very smooth. WiFi has been improved. Everything seems better. The differences between 12 PM, 13 PM, 14 PM and the 15 PM were not that big to me. This year I think they have knocked it out of the park. This one feels endgame for me.
Heavy expensive phone for no reason is not the end game were you just being sarcastic? You’re still limited to iOS in the same way the iPad is limited. Apple really needs to add more iOS features like dock capability and using it as a HomePC. There should be an Apple TV mode as well.
Oh, I don’t know. I like the phone. It is what I want. I don’t buy cameras besides my Insta360. I will not upgrade my Insta360 X3 for quite a few years or until they finally release the GoPro Max II. I finally feel that I will hold onto a phone for multiple years. It feels endgame. I don’t really know how else to put it. I think the next big change needs to make a phone that folds into an iPad (not the $3,000 Galaxy Fold) or phone that has a 4K projector on the edge.
Most people use their camera phones in portrait mode and not in landscape. In portrait mode my thumb perfectly aligns with the camera control button on my 16 PM.
iPhone and other Apple's products is built on the foundation easy to use and "it just works", the iPhone 16 series were not. Skeptic might say time over time people will get used to to "harder to used" but in reality the philosophy of "easy to used" were gone. Went to Apple store the other day planning to upgrade to 16 Pro but after testing the camera control button which Apple refused to admit it is a button, it just "doesn't works". Comparing tapping the on screen capture provides more stable shot than pressing the control button. Agreed to you, it just doesn't works!
The 5x telephoto finally coming to the smaller Pro phone feels to me worth an upgrade from my current 14 Pro. Plus the battery improvements & the A18 Pro chip features. I’ll be upgrading in Dec when the Apple Intelligence features launch in Canada but definitely feels like a worthy upgrade for the smaller Pro coming from the 14 Pro (I never get the Max versions….way too uncomfortable in my pocket).
Ironically, I think this year is what normal iPhone sale should look like. The Pro models introduce real pro features that experienced photographers will appreciate, such as JPEG XL lossy & 4K 120 fps. These are all very niche, which implies only a small percentage of people should buy the Pro models, and it totally should be that way (i.e., people should no longer say that Apple put "Pro" in naming simply to charge people more).
Very frustrating that max hypes up the new phones for the past several months, then his review once in hand dogs it. Uses terms like botch, fail, same this, same that. I upgraded 14 pro for a 16 pro and despite the phone being a failure according to max I am happy with it. Normally I like his reviews but I have to ignore this one for I feel like I would have to commit suicide 😮to be happy.
Can someone please confirm- I do not have .5 zoom option when shooting video. Yet MaxTech said they are shooting ultra wide video? Is my 16Pro Max defective or is there no .5 zoom in video?
Think of all the R&D time and budget Apple put into the stupid camera button only to have everyone trash it. It will be gone faster than the touchscreen buttons on MacBooks. Maybe even faster than the butterfly keyboards. lol.
Lol 11 pro is still enough for me. I use phone to make calls, watch videos here n there. but not to make movies and ask stupid programm so called ai or whatever about smt or do it smt for me. Im just human and love to interact and do things on my own. But i wish apple to at least change the design ffs
On paper the 15 PM/16 PM are the same thing right? Well I’ve noticed much better battery life on my 16PM. It doesn’t get hot like the 15. I love the new undertones feature and how you can go into photos after and change the look anytime. Camera button is a “meh”. It works and it’s finicky, mostly good for launching camera app. The regular 16 pro is the upgrade getting the 5X cam, bigger screen.
I usually upgrade every 2 or 3 years. I went from the iPhone 11 Pro Max(my favorite form factor!) to the 14 Pro Max… i was tempted by the 15 Pro Max for the usb-c and 5x tele… but waited until this year and just ordered the 16 Pro Max. So it will be a big upgrade for me. Sure, I woulda loved the 48mp sensor on the tele lens as well. But i guess Apple is saving that for the 17 Pros. Sensor size is more important than pixel count especially for lowlight photos, so I will keep an eye on that in the future.
@MaxTechOfficial You’re completely wrong about the position of the camera control. It’s in just the right place. If it were closer to the corner, you wouldn’t be able to use it when holding the phone vertically. And if you’re holding the phone horizontally, just hold it where your finger can reach the button! That’s no big deal at all, and holding it less near the edge will make the phone shake less when taking the photo. Personally I’m a little disappointed in the new camera control - it doesn’t work as well as I hoped it would - but I’m getting used to it, and it’s certainly in the right place. I’m looking forward to when a half press focuses like on a real camera; that’s what’ll make it really useful.
I have returned my iPhone 16 Pro Max for 16 plus 512, my refund was 318 dollars. Upgrade a was terrible was rip off. So now 16 Plus was updated better pro iPhones
I love everything about my new 16 Pro, except for the photo processing. Literally only people who already have a 15 Pro would be disappointed about this years phone, like yeah in 2024 there's not gonna be a revolutionary change from one year to the next, but the hardware is so refined now that anyone upgrading from a 14 or older will really appreciate all the new features they get after waiting a few years. I really hate to see how many people are saying it's a disappointing phone because THEY'RE COMPARING IT TO A 15 PRO, it's a great phone with so many new things compared to literally any other iPhone. And like yeah camera control isn't the best either but for most people the upgrade will definitely be worth it.
I mean anyone upgrading every year is crazy since changes are small. Me however? I'm coming from the 12 pro max. 4 years old now, kinda sluggish, needed battery replaced. Even with the replacement it overheats easy and goes dim. Also kinda had the $1000 trade in for my phone to take into consideration.
I was thinking about switching to 16 pro from 11. Bro, it feels a massive improvement to me. Also if you’re used to the 3D touch before, camera control is actually a good thing. I tried it in an Apple Store and it felt really nice. Because of the haptic feedback and attention to detail it does what it says. I think it will be really good upgrade for everyone who’s gonna jump from 11/12/13. Definitely worth the wait!
My partner has my old iPhone 13 Pro and I have a 14 pro currently (waiting for 16 pro to arrive) our battery health is identical even though her phone is a year older than mine, I have no idea why the 14 pro battery has been so bad but i use this as my work and personal phone and I’ve got small hands so the Max is no good for me. I’m quite happy to upgrade to 16 pro form the 14 pro if the battery is better alone.
Coming from an iPhone 11 Pro, I can say that I've really enjoyed using the iPhone 16 Pro... I'm glad I was able to wait just one more year for apple to fix the iPhone 15 Pro overheating bugs and better battery. Overall, I can give it an A for me ;)
I upgraded from 12 to a 16. Loving every minute of it so far. Same function, much longer lasting battery. It was one single thing I looked for. The end
In my reasonably big hand, camera control on 16PM is exactly at the right spot for one-handed use in horizontal and vertical mode. In vertical mode even my wife can operate the camera control in one hand. In fact, if any change is made, I would much rather prefer they move the camera control higher up towards the power switch. We find it very intuitive and fluid and almost stopped touching the screen for photos, except for tap to focus and tap to zoom. Sorry to hear it did not work out for you. Good news is, touch screen camera operation is the same as before, so you aren't missing much.
I have a feeling Apple's longterm strategy is to do something like Samsung with releases. No more "pro" models. At some point there will be iPhone, iPhone Plus, and iPhone Ultra (Ultra being the only "pro" model). Since Apple has slowly been 'thinking different' less and less year over year, its only a matter of time until that tenet is a thing of the past.
Just so you know, the ultra-wide angle camera can indeed be used for macro shots at 48 MP. If you start on the fusion camera and let it automatically convert to macro as you get close to a subject, you will indeed get a 12 MP macro. However, if you start with the ultra-wide (0.5x) camera and then just move close to a subject, you’ll get a 48 MP photo; this is substantiated in the information panel on these macro shots. Actually, I hope Apple makes a software upgrade so that the fusion camera automatically changes to the 48 MP macro in the future.
Great insights. I have a 14 Pro with the Max Battery Capacity at 83% now. I have to charge the battery by early evening to be able to use the phone before going to sleep. Do you recommend staying with this 14 Pro and possibly getting a new battery or get a 16 Pro? Is the 16 Pro daily battery life that big of an improvement to justify the upgrade?
@MaxTechOfficial Hi, I wonder if macro mode is better or not, not based on MP number (12) but on pixel-binning use, that would lead to more light capture and less noise, so maybe to more détails or/and texture. Just a question. Thanks :-).
I'm upgrading because of the charging port is Now Type C. As I'm still using the 14 Pro.. And My plan pays $1,000.00 trade in. So it's the Pro Max this month..
so much talking to explain one simple thing: ppl buy non pro models only because the pros are more expensive, that’s it. nobody cares about nerd stuff, not even nerds 😂 if you have the money you get the pros, if not the best you can afford, that’s it. the same if it comes to upgrade from previous generations: if you have money to spare you get the new one, otherwise “i’ll wait for the next one” 🤷🏻♂️
I upgraded from the iPhone XS max and I couldn't be happier. I think your review comes across as pretty pretentious for someone who upgrades every year. For the average person that's only upgrading every 2 or 3 years, I think this is an amazing iPhone!
It’s interesting people’s views. I think it depends what your upgrading from. I’ve come from a 13 to 16 pro my first pro. Main reason for me I needed 5x optical zoom for photography. If x5 stayed on the pro max I wouldn’t have upgraded. Pro max is too big. As for the camera control I don’t mind it. I just leave it on cameras setting.
It looks the same, but i really don’t think Apple will change front of the phone. Which is fine. I don’t really mind it’s almost the same than 13PM.. It’s like Macbooks (laptops) which have look the same for ages but nobody complain. It has this ”iconic” apple curved corners as well as flat side rails. I don’t think they go or should go curved rails (6-xs max) , which just makes phone feel bigger and wider. Backside might change due to camera changes. Maybe dyn. island disappear when tech is ready. I think Samsung too finally realise that phones should be recognizable, not to change looks every year or two.
From a 13 Pro it’s probably better to not upgrade,I’ve a new battery 100% since July and I’ll probably upgrade in In December because I can get a 16 pro after selling this 13 Pro in Melbourne for €520 compared to buying it out straight in Ireland for €1239
16 Pro’s and Pro Max’s continue to be completely out of stock in Australian stores. No shortage of demand here. For me, first time in 8 years I haven’t upgraded this year - yet😊
If that’s the case that you can only get 45 W charging while playing gaming. That’s really hard to believe that Apple would pull something like that. But I’m curious about that 25 watt MagSafe charging ??? is that 25 W only for the first 10 to 15 minutes and then it’s slowly trickles down to 5 W just like the past MagSafe chargers did. This is why people don’t buy Apple products when they first come out because you have to see all the poison that’s in between the lines in that deceitful keynote
I’m not the most techie at all but they released a iPhone with no case… this whole iPhone seemed like a place holder. Which bites the legacy of 10 or “X”… 😢
I suspect the iPhone 16s will finally distinguish themselves when all of the Apple Intelligence features finally materialize. Until then, it’s just a microscopic incremental improvement, targeted at upgrades from iPhone 13 and earlier.
You don’t know about design!! that’s why you say so, that’s why the camara control can be place lower. They are design in harmony with the power button.. when reviewers are ignorant, never can understand about design!
I have to take my iPhone 16 Pro Max back to the store to get fixed or swapped for another one because keys on the on screen keyboard sometimes freeze and don’t work for a few seconds sometimes a little longer
Camera control is a big unnecessary gimmick in my opinion..I’m trying to get used to this button and some how it’s just not impressive or that useful unless you just wanna launch the camera app and take a quick picture..🤷🏻♂️
Keeping my 13 mini for another year I think. I didn’t get a 15 because I didn’t think it was enough of an upgrade and these are almost the same so once again not worth an upgrade. My 13 mini performs just fine.

People are followers if someone else doesn't like something they all of a sudden don't like it either
Smartphones haven't peaked, although they're not far from peaking. There's going to be room for improvement for a long time.
Yup.
why do you care if the reviews are negative? Just use your damn phone. Why take it so personal? LOL
Should have been called a 15S and not 16
🤝

16 pro = 13 pro with dynamic island and usb c. That's basically it
The days of the S models
It is easier just to use the volume rocker, or use the on screen buttons.
do you think i should stick with my 13 pro till next year?
If you got the money to burn, or there’s something wrong with your phone (broken, battery not lasting, etc) then I would say it’s definitely worth upgrading. Otherwise, I would just hold onto it for another year. It doesn’t seem like most of the AI features are coming out until next year anyway.
I agree, the upgrade from 15PM to 16PM was not worth it this year. From 13PM to 15PM was day and night 😉
This 16 Pro Max is a great phone except for one glaring problem! Lens flares on a phone this expensive is unacceptable! Period!
That 16 pro max sucks haha went back to android! That phone automatically shuts off randomly, refresh rate feels like 60 hz, RUclips kept freezing, my files freezes also, I dont like 16 at all to me it's a downgrade 100% I'll stick with my s23 ultra upgrading to the s25 ultra when it comes out
Should I trade in from regular 14 Pro with 87% bh from February 2023 to 16 Pro Max or wait for the 17 Pro Max?
Im wondering the same thing
If you are asking this question, it means you do not use the high-end features of the phones. So the answer is easy - wait for 17.
@@solar75wind I need battery and camera mainly, should I still wait for the 17 for more changes even if the 16 is the new 13 in terms of battery life?
The problem with all these tech reviewers disappointed in the 16 pro is because they are comparing to the 15 pro. Most iPhone users are on a 13 or older. These phones are meant to last years, and even Apple isn’t expecting people to upgrade every single year.
The latest iPhone 16 Pro is only good for new iPhone users
I just wanted to 120 hz on the regular 16 😭
2025 => on the regular 17
@@shameermulji yeah I heard the rumors, but I shattered the back glass of my 13 Pro… now I don’t want to buy a pro and the regular 16 doesn’t have 120 😭
I don’t know about everyone else but so far the 16 pro looks and feels amazing. I’m coming from the 12 pro max.
You should put Max on the title. I'm looking for a review just the pro.
Me too
Apple Max Tech < fanboy
No cap
Try to hold with thumb and little finger while using capture button and use index finger to control button functions
The moment base models get 120Hz, Apple can just remove Pro from the line up
My cousin said: Going from the Xs to the 16 Pro max feels great.
The new Ceramic Shield glass is so reflective compared to the old version which sucks
Its the same
So it's not worth upgrading from an iPhone 6S??
No way. Maybe in 10 years.
The camera control is becoming the Touch Bar of iPhones
45w charging is a lie.
Prove it.
I love it. I Don’t regret upgrading
The big disappointment is that there is no 120hz refresh rate on the iPhone 16. Basically the reason I upgraded to the 16 pro from the 13 pro!
@MaxTechOfficial
Hi,
I wonder if macro mode is better or not, not based on MP number (12) but on pixel-binning use, that would lead to more light capture and less noise, so maybe to more détails or/and texture.
I upgraded from the iPhone 11 to the 16 pro and I’m super happy. I don’t understand why people upgrade every year or every other year
If that’s the case that you can only get 45 W charging while playing gaming.
I’m making the jump from 13 pro to 16 pro. Only because my carrier is offering $1000 to trade up. Hopefully it’s a big enough jump to be worth it.
After playing around with that camera button in the store, I'm keeping my 15pm.
You don’t know about design!! that’s why you say so, that’s why the camara control can be place lower. They are design in harmony with the power button.. when reviewers are ignorant, never can understand about design!
I upgraded from the regular 14 to the 16 Pro. I'm not really feeling a huge upgrade even still except for the camera quality.
I have to take my iPhone 16 Pro Max back to the store to get fixed or swapped for another one because keys on the on screen keyboard sometimes freeze and don’t work for a few seconds sometimes a little longer
Low light video is grainy and blurry. Was clear on 13 Pro Max. Google Pixel will be better. Besides the 8K video quality is actually good.
I upgraded from a 13 pro, it’s just like a way better 13 pro lol, adding the Dynamic Island and camera button. Like a super saiyan 13 pro

I think apple is intentionally reducing Pro model sales to push non pro models sell well for some reasons, it seems they want buyers wait for pro models next year ( or iPhone Air) which may be released along with iPad release.
If I upgrade to this at basic storage from 12 pro max how much more roughly would I spend to get equivalent 17 pro max in a year from now?
I think I'll keep using my 1st gen iPhone SE and see what the next SE looks like.
These phones will look extremely dated after the new redesign for iPhone 17. It will hurt resale values.
I basically disagree with every single point in this review, what a waste of time
Will upgrade coming from 15 Pro. I’m not expecting anything exciting. But I just want it 🤷♂️ 😂
I have an 11 Pro Max, and I’m trying to decide if I should get a 16 Pro Max
I upgraded from the regular 11 to the 16 pro and it’s awesome! Definitely way more rewarding to wait 4/5 years between upgrades.
@@nattyic3 well I had a 6S before my 11 Pro Max, so I kind of had to out of necessity lol 😂 with the jump from 11 to 16 tho I’m not seeing it as absolutely necessary
I see now why apple’s been holding off on adding promotion on the regular models. If they added it this year the pros would not sell at all
My current iPhone is the 13 basic model and I ordered the 16 pro version, I should see a great difference right??
Good review. This was a very honest review with firm statements. Now that's the channel I signed up for back in 2015. By the way, I wholeheartedly agree with you Vadim.
With the introduction of AI this year, this phone will probably be pretty amazing once it is actually implemented. Too bad it will be so late in the year.
13 Pro Max to 16 Pro. I’m happy with it, but I’m not a click-dependent influencer. Just a phone user. And in that jump, there are so. many. upgrades.
I’m sorry, I love your reviews, but it’s just that the Camera Control is seriously useful to me and others I know, yes it has a learning curve but it’s so good once you get used to it
I have a base 13. The battery life sucks now. So probably will upgrade
The slider to bring shadows in and out is actually very nice. No reason otter models cannot have it , but right now it’s only on the pros
