- today we take an in-depth look at the Alltrack R3 Hybrid power wheelchair from Amylior!
im a fan of amysystems power chairs - have owned several of them over the years, and the suspension / ride quality is unmatched! we take a deep dive into all aspects of this powerchair, and help decide if its the right chair for you! it's intended for urban environments that aren't necessarily the best for regular power chairs, but gives a bit of an edge over other brands for navigating rough terrain, obstacles, small curbs etc.
i spent a LOT of time on this review, hopefully it helps! leave your questions down below!

Recently I broke my leg in 3 places, which left me with foot drop and a numb leg from the knee down!! So I got a permobile G300 power chair and I’m turning it into an off road chair. I’m an avid hunter and watching your vids has certainly cut the learning curve a bunch!! We do have 1 thing in common I like to tell stories and jokes. Ps. I can walk with a prosthetic built in my boot and attaches to my calf that keeps my level and the front of my foot up on the forward step. It’s fine for walking!! But uneven grounds forget it!! My distance has been compromised greatly!! So trial & error like you, till I get it right. I have a starter & alternator rebuild business for 30 plus years so lathes and welders ect . make things easier!! Plus your intell!!!! Thanks for your heads up on a lot of my questions🤙🤙🤙
if ya have a C300 this might work! ruclips.net/video/sa0kdiGgPao/видео.html
Great video! Very insightful & thorough.
Great video Dan, I think you did a superb job!
If I miss your live video and I watch it when I get on RUclips, I always saved it to my RUclips under wheelchair. And that is exactly tape of wheelchair I definitely needed that goes up and down.
Good thorough review
Excellent
Man this guy talks a lot. But that's cool! I can dig it :) Great review dude! I really enjoy long-form videos.
Amy systems wheelchairs they are awesome I can't wait to get mine
Hey man. I only found your channel a week or so ago and love the vlogs.
I just got a brand new Extreme X8 from Magic Mobility. Have you tried that chair? Off-road it's awesome. I don't need an indoor powered chair as I already have two manual chairs with the Smoov motor.
Anyways, keep up the great work my man 👍🏻
i have the X8 as well and love it
Ooh. I currently have a (donated, older) Alltrack M3, and my only gripe about it is the stability. I live in an older neighborhood with lots of trees and janky sidewalks, and the amount of times I've had to play Sidewalk Dig-Dug for 3 or 4 blocks because of a 1.5-2" lip on a sidewalk block, or risk face-planting with 350lbs of chair on top of me is ridiculous. That's more about my city than the chair, but having the rest of the good things about the M3 plus added stability would be awesome. Fingers crossed I can convince the DME and Medicaid of that.
Have you tried to swap the rear tires? Thats an understatement as you have have to also pull/swap the pressed on hubs.
Can you put larger back castors on your Permobile F3 and would that give you a smoother ride?
Thanks, bud I am trying to decide between this chair in a slightly different configuration or Quantum R track.
I decided to get this Amylior R3 hybrid looking forward to it. With tilt and elevation and with 8.5 motors and wide tires. And i can customize it without a big module on the back. That would get in way of hooking my arm and backpack I will get. This demo rode the smoothest of all chairs I tried it is just the best suspension I ever rode in, the Quantum had leg rest and armrest closer to my Quickie, but Amylior was only chair that worked with my EZ Lock tie down. So, I had no choice however I am happy that I decided on this chair. I ran all questions by tech, I was impressed how they were open to such custom options to help my limitation. I have to do the pt visit before I can order so it's going to be couple months before I get it but it's going to be sweet. Any suggestions on the configuration or anything I need to be sure it has let me know thanks.
nice
Good review Dan, I did notice that the motors are 4 pole, so have you tried turning up the speed to 8 mph. The motors look like they would handle the increase, anyway very nice looking chair 👍
I tried that with my outdoor chair, I replaced the the tires with wider tires off a 4wheeler 11 inch which on the aluminum wheels were actually lighter that the OE wheels, it helped a bit but actually bought a different joystick controller that allows more amperage to the motors!! This is the ticket!! But it cuts down on travel time/distance, I built this to get me closer to my hunting places. Which I stop. Then walk to my area.. looking to dampen the motor noise, going to test spray insulation first, putting plastic down on motors if it doesn’t work I can remove easily. It’s all trial & error so gotta keep in mind it might not work!! LOL
Great review. Show more off road in the next video.
I thought those train horns were a choir midi that you decided to put in when you went up and down that steep slope. lol!
Amelior From Québec Canada !!!
How does the suspension compare to the Frontier V6 on-road? Is it less of a difference than other chairs? I wonder how the off-road package will compare.
they both have great ride quality, but one has a more precise feeling of control than the other.
it would be akin to comparing a 1976 cadillac coupe deville, to a 1981 mercedes 300SD
the frontier V6 is more like a pillow with no perception of the terrain at all (AKA 70's cadillac)
and Alltrac R3 hybrid gives you a feeling of the terrain without jolting you. (AKA mercedes 300SD)
my frontier v6 has the air filled off road tires- so im not sure how different it rides with on-road tires. both chairs are similar in ride quality, but just a different overall feeling in general..
- basically german car vs american car suspension if that makes any sense :^)
How much torque do you lose if you get the 8.5mph package. Is it so much you get stuck a lot any advice would help thanks .
nice video - can the seat be moved back a bit with no issues ? can you review demo an invacare RWD chair Avia i think - also the Quautum R Track RWD ?
Let's see it...
I’ve been using a power chair for about six years now and I discovered your channel almost 6 years ago. I have been buying my own power chairs with used never paid more than $2000. I’ve had now two Quickie QM seven tens M 300 and a wretched Quantum pride that I absolutely hate. Watching this video about the Amy system share you talk about how wonderful it suspension is. Well all I know is that the two Quickie QM 710 I had with spider track are worlds better than either my Quantum or MyPermobil. I’ve never seen you do a video about Quickie. My manual wheelchair is a sunrise medical Quickie and the seating on the QM 710s is not as refined as my M3. I’m just wondering why you’ve never done a video and whether you’ve ever tried one, there is a lot of stuff I’ll go over through etc. in my quickies that I won’t go in my prom mobile my promo is now relegated to an indoor chair only. Trying to get Medicaid to buy me a chair that’s already in the works and I’m thinking about buying one of the Amy systems hybrid due to your recommendation of how superior the suspension is.
Hey how is the comfort compared to other chairs???
entirely depends on the seating thats installed.. for example a stock backrest on a permobil is unusable for me - but getting it setup with an ADI deep backrest and ride cushion, makes it perfect!
Hoveround are you familiar with the mvp5 it's in excerlent condition strong in the control arm I got bleeding lights can u please give me advice np problems withptors nothing the bleeding light won't let me move.please how can I contact u
it seems like the body of the chair moved less in actual use when the suspension moved, the air bags seemed to move the seat and body more than the ride.
Yea.. it’s really hard to show how things work when it’s sitting still :-)
What was the mumbo jumbo about the FTC?
it was basically ticking a box :^) ya have to specify if a video is a 'paid review' - and there has to be explicit clarification to avoid any ambiguity.
I live in Columbia South Carolina where it’s mildly hilly. I drive at full speed virtually everywhere outside and it’s definitely hotter than where you are from and I’ve never experienced thermal rollback I weigh 245 pounds and I am usually riding a Quickie QM 710. They have 60 amp hour. Batteries and I easily get 18 miles on a fully chargedrelatively new batteries and I’ve gotten over 22 miles without getting stuck. Just saying, but I think your mileage figures for batteries are very low.
Are there wheelchairs in America that can travel 10 miles or is that too fast for Americans and therefore forbidden? I would say that not every disabled wheelchair user has a car and if a wheelchair moves a little faster then you can get something done quicker or meet appointments more quickly.
The only 10mph+ production chair I know of in the US is bounder. (At least for major players)
I'm so sick of these slow wheelchairs myself. And Amy only goes 1.5 mph when the seat elevator is at maximum level, ugh!
I use to be a big supporter of Amy Systems chairs but I'm currently having a horrible time with Amy and their repair process . I don't think I'll ever buy another Amy chair again after the way they nonchalantly send parts to Numotion to repair my WC. It's been over 2 months & they still haven't sent the right parts . They keep sending one part at a time to Nu Motion getting them to try the part & if it doesn't work then Numotion has to send the part back and then Amy sends another one rather than sending all the parts at once it's absolutely horrible. Every time they send apart that doesn't work it takes another two weeks of waiting for them to get the next part back and forth it's ridiculous system. They don't care about the urgency for a person not having their WCs! I'm so glad I kept my old Invacare Storm as a backup chair. So anybody buying one of their chairs beware their support system and repair system is horrible and very slow through the mail. I sure wish Quickie didn't discontinue their Hybrid chair because that would have definitely been my next chair! It's a far superior drive and no jerky left to right motion you get with Amy Hybrid.
i wouldn't hold the DME (numotion) completely blameless.. ya mentioned they wanted to replace the main controller for a charging issue.. (which isnt related to charging in any way) but hopefully they get things going for ya sooner than later!
i will say though, amy chairs are setup a bit differently than other brands, and take a bit of know-how to perform repairs on. when i had my alltrackM years ago, id have to take the chair back apart myself and put everything back together PROPERLY after getting it back form the DME.
@@TotallyNormal- I didn't mention charging? Don't worry I'm sure Numotion has a part to play in all this. But when they tell me Amy doesn't get back to them right away that really annoys me.
oh - thought it was mentioned during a livestream.. no worries.. i just get frustrated by the way the whole system works in general.. everything takes FOREVER to anything repaired!
then insurance has odd ways they allow parts to be ordered as well.. and it just slows down everything
Numotion has been more of a hassle than my insurance company they demand a script for everything in my insurance company doesn't. @@TotallyNormal-
