05:46 After a little internet sleuthing, I was surprised to find out that the Guitar Center logo, with a guitar graphic serving as the "G" has been around since the 60s! That, coupled with the particular font seen in the logo (the "e" is at a distinct angle), suggests that it could very well be from the 80s when this guitar was released. Very cool!

If the open string buzzes but the fretted notes don't, doesn't that mean the nut needs to be addressed not the bridge?

Those are 90’s double cream DiMarzio 35th Anniversary PAF’s. Killer pickups! Kurt Cobain had one on the neck of his Jaguar.
The single coils in the case are 80’s strat pickups. Usually no markings on them.

That was my first thought but I can't see the SKU stamped into the bottom of them. I have a bunch of Dimarzios dating back to the 90s and they all have the model number stamped into the bottom.

Three dowels and a vise will give you a temporary fix on a collapsed bridge. One dowel on each post hole and one on the back; tighten gently and the bridge will bend back straight. Takes just a couple of minutes and it really helps the playability.

What a lovely guitar. I know you like minty clean for the collection, but I love to see the wear. It tells the story of the guitar and as much as every guitar is an art peice, they are are made to MAKE art, not BE art. Sad about not having PAF's, but if it sounds good that's all that matters. Also, as much as I have always thought pick guards hide too much of the beauty that is a Les Paul, this one accentuates the natural finish.

Hey Austin, I don't know exactly when they started doing it but all the Dimarzio pickups I own, which date back to the early 90s have the model number stamped into the baseplate. I think on the neck pickup I can maybe see a 'P' there but not the rest of it (fornmat is DP*xxx*). It looks like they've maybe also had covers on them at one point? Dunno, but if you can make out the model number then that will at least tell you what they are.
I don't know if maybe early ones didn't get the SKU stamped on them but if that's the case and they're 70s-80s Dimarzio PAFS, they're getting to be quite valuable in their own right

It's not brown multilayered binding. It's a brown binding with a black and white purfling. The binding is ONLY the outermost protective piece. The purfling is decorative. You should at least know the parts of a guitar.

I WANT, to know why Gibson has a set of pafs in a case for $999.99. Why, why , why $999.99 for a set of $300 pickups?

Nylon string I wonder if you had a Keith Richards fan who did the whole five string tuning thing but felt odd not having the E string on the guitar? Way out of left field theory for ya.

Evening Troglodytes!! I love double cream uncovered pickups. Too bad about not being Tim Shaw PAF's though.

Seems strange that in some instances people wanna pay extra for this kinda wear. Sadly the bridge and fret buzz really devalue this one.

The bridge pickup seeems waaaay low! Maybe you should make it a point in these videos to adjust them? I see so many people with shitty pickup heights...

This spotlight was in horrendous shape. I sure would like to own one. I have over 30 Gibson Les Paul Standards & Customs. But I do not own a Spotlight Special. Or a 25/50 model. Is and a lot of different peculiar models. I do not own a Explorer or a SG. That is something I hope to remedy this year. If you think keeping up with you is hard. You've got another thing coming for somebody that doesn't have a youtube channel on guitars. I wish I was born in the age of youtube. I would have had so much fun. And got a lot of trouble. Try to find my way through everything. And coming out on the other side like DDE. ADAM LZ, JWW, These guys have made it and you think that there are so many of them and they're not. All of you guys worked extremely hard for content. And I bet u struggle for peace of mine. But I would really like to find me a spotlight at a decent price. Whatever that is
