- BILLINGHAM - ST.MICHAEL'S SCHOOL - And how could I not come to Billingham and take a trip to see the "Old school", eh? ;O)
UPDATE 26th April 2015 - paid the school another visit: • ST MICHAEL'S ACADEMY ...
Hello from the south west of France. I left in 82, I was in Hinsley with Mr Armstrong as house master. great video I came across it whilst looking for school videos to show to my French students. we have been covering school uniform and lessons and they asked me if I had any photos of my old school. they'll love this thank you. It's a shame there are no shots of the interior.
Linda - hi. If you're on Facebook, here is a link to someone's album where he took some photos around the school: facebook.com/share/jRLnpTX4t7TbLyfQ/?
... and here's a link to a post which I posted showing the local newspaper's video report on the demolition of the old school... m.facebook.com/groups/1293851443975565/permalink/1368048979889144/?mibextid=KsPBc6
And another link with a video about the day the old school was demolished - facebook.com/share/v/oWrz8buegoGLuz5A/?mibextid=KsPBc6
wiseman was the best house block :)
I know a fella who plays the Cornet in the Sally army in Middlesbrough. It's always lovely to see the true spirit of Chrristmas when the salvation army play in the town over the festive period. Was Tony Maxwell there when you were at St Micks
I went to St Michaels and left to go to St Mary's college. Had awesome fun there with Mr Maxwell, Miss Jacobs, miss pearce, Mr Jones, Dr Swift, Mr Macmillan, I was in Wiseman (best house)
Mr Hughes classic.
I go there right now!
I was in Griffin. Now there's something for you to film next time your up. Maxwell sings(crooner) at some place in Hartlepool on a regular basis. I think he brought out a CD in aid of charity sometime ago. Anyways, been enjoying your videos,it's funny when you see your everyday environment-the place you live in on film. A lots changed!
nice wee video, think the place just opened the year i started ! maxwell was art teacher, payne was head, and liginns was house teacher , maybe. seemed a very relaxed place when i was there, until i was 14. wonder if next time you will go inside with your cam.
Cheers Paul bro great info
Yes. Mr M was my "House Master" of Griffin House - long before he became Head Master. Good bloke.
Keep em coming, Paul!!!....the night's are dark. What are you gonna do next???

Enjoyed seeing this thanks, brought back memories, I was in Griffin and Mr Maxwell was my housemaster.wasn't maths with Mr or Mrs Scott on first floor and geography and history on top floor, do I vaguely remember a Mr dolphin?
Delia Rowley Delia - hi. Yes - I was in Griffin House as well with Mr Maxwell :) Yes, I think you're right about "The Scotts" on the first floor, and geography & history on the top floor (Mr Hughes was my "jogger" teacher) - and Mr Dolphin was there as well. And guess what? I went back there again the other day - and here it is... with a BIG SCHOOL being built out front! :) - ruclips.net/video/X9xtarTqaDw/видео.html
Sad to think old school will be gone, great video. Lovely to hear the accent though as you describe everything. :-)
Delia Rowley
Delia - yes, it's the best and only voice I've ever had! ;) Thanks :) I like to give a "Guided Tour" on my videos when I can :)
Only one house block. Wiseman all the way.
Ah ha! Well... I'll probably wait until springtime again before I venture out w t'camera ;o)
Actually - I heard the Salvation Army will be doing a gig at Christmas on the bandstand in the Town Centre. That would be good to film, but unfortunately won't be up there myself :(
My mum got me a copy of the CD :)... he's just an old smoothy really...lol.. ;)
Like Harry Potter isn't it. Griffin, Hinsley Vaughan and Hugglepuff
+Thomas Peters ... I'll have to take your word on the "Harry Potter" thing...lol.. but I have been to Alnwick Castle in Northumberland where they filmed some of the "outside scenes" in one of the HP movies :)
Paul Flanagan it was inspired by Harry Potter but they abandoned them in the new builds
Slippery!
